Didn't say there was, I think we all have had our moments with Bonny-Boy.
One Piece The Movie - The Desert Princess and the Pirates

Am I the only one that hates him? I feel that way all the time…
I won't bore everyone with the generic "lolol this movie suk lol" so I'll instead say I hated the Storm scene. The music they added was alright, but the anime's was definately better. It just wasn't as dramatic, probably because that scene was so damn rushed.
All well, hopefully movie 9 will be better.
-
They need to get Hosoda to direct another movie.
I wouldn't be surprised if Toei, seeing "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" get such high acclaim since last year said "Get that damn Hosoda back, we need him for the next One Piece film.
Seeing both Movie 6 and Leap Through Time, really makes me wonder how good Howl's Moving Castle would've been if he directed it as planned (but then he refused directing it to work on Movie 6, so I guess I should be thankful)

Back on topic.
Movie 8 in the U.S. will be shown in select theaters late January.

Has this been known?(Now I really wish FUNi would do movie 6)
-
can anybody tell me where i can find the subbed version of movie 8???
i need it badly!!! -
-
You need it badly? How so, to make an AMV or something? If you need it badly cause you wanna see it badly, you should wait another month and buy the FUNi DVD.
-
Last I recall, the movie's supposed to be in theaters in January.
Looks like the site now says different:
"IN SELECT THEATERS FEBRUARY 2008" -
Yes, but where? I'd definitely would like to go. It'll most likely be playing in NYC, so I got a pretty good chance.
-
My town definitely will be playing it, since it has like, 12 different theatres that only play cult films or anime.
-
Damn New York, always getting good stuff like special theatre showings and the statue of liberty.
-
And it swell to be a New Yorker.
-
I was born in New York. Then I moved. XDD
I still live fairly close to Chicago, I have no doubt there'll be at least 1 theater showing there.
-
I'm sure it's playing at the same place as Fusion Reborn did way back whenever, but I can't seem to remember how the hell I found out what times it was playing and whatnot.
-
Just got my E-Mail from FUNi reminding me to reserve the Movie 8 DVD, buy Unlimited Adventure, and to see the movie in theatres February 7-10th, 2008.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that the "find theatres near you" link is working yet, so I'm in suspense a little longer.
-
Awesome Birthday gift fo me.
-
…but the actual DVD release is now in March, right?
Did they specify the particular day in March? ._.

Six pirates may be all that sand between salvation and total destruction!
The Straw Hat Pirates are on a quest to save the desert kingdom of Alabasta. A civil war brews there among the sands, one started and stirred by the hand of none other than Crocodile and his corrupted Baroque Works gang. The stakes run ever higher as Princess Vivi’s homeland threatens to tear itself apart. More than lives are on the line… Meh… I could have thought of a better summary then that. But I suppose it's good enough.
It's also strange that the DVD comes out the same time as it does in the theaters. Not that that's a bad thing, though
-

Lobster's summary of the movie:
Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi Vivi
A regular, sane person's head would explode after reading that.
ANYWAY, hopefully the movie will come out near the DC area. I probably won't be able to buy the DVD anytime soon.
-
4 days of showing, huh. At least that's better than what the Naruto movie limited run got, which was just a day.

Heeey, I've got more class then that… I would have spiced it up a bit ;)

Ohh… so that's how it works. I wonder what type of theaters would air these movies anyway? Not that it really matters, as seeing it in the theaters would be pointless to me. I can't see why anyone would actually go, unless it's with a group of friends. Because it's, well, coming out 5 days later on DVD.
And it had better come complete with deleted scenes, promotional art, commentary, previews, and free keychains.
-
That would be nice if they included atleast one of the Key-Chain sets with the DVD's.

That's the link if you want to see the Trailer. -
It looks like Funi rated the movie PG-13. Do you guys agree with this rating?
-
Funi didn't rate the movie, that was entirely the decision of the MPAA.
-
Well… then do you agree with the MPAA's decision?
-
Yes, Yes I do. I mean it's uncut! There's cursing, blood, and cartoon violence. What more evidence do you need.
-
Seems to fit. There's quite an amount of flying blood in the movie. And FUNi put in some swear words, apparently.

Don't forget nudity
-
Not on screen nudity, but yeah, sexual content I guess.
-
Has anyone been able to get the site working where we find out what theatres One Piece is playing at?
I needs to plan ahead for a road trip and I'm getting antsy.
-
I can think of one local theater near me that may have the movie. I just hope they put the list on the site soon.
-
I don't think we are gonna get any extra goodies with the movies, guys. I think it's just gonna be the movie. Hopefully we'll get goodies with the boxsets tho.
-
Need. Selected Theater locations. NOW.
I really need to get the location fast, Dad doesn't like to do things at last minute. And if the theater is quite a trip away from my town, I will REALLY need to plan ahead.
I'm so excited, though~! >w<

You and me both! D=
I just hope it's not more than an hour drive from where I live.

Why bother wasting money on a ticket? Watch the trailer online and you've basically seen everything interesting in the movie.
-
Nah I think its more of the possibility of seeing One Piece on the big screen. A lot of people (like me) aren't able to go to cons or Japan to watch any One Piece movies, so an opportunity like this would be exciting even if the movie was horrible.

I understand your feelings completely. I just….I dunno....not sure if I would want such a special memory to be....'that' movie.
-
Honestly I have no interest in seeing this movie at all, but I can't pass up seeing OP in the theaters even if it's a suck movie.
-
I really want to see OP on a big screen, too. But I watched this movie subbed last year and it was an unbearable experience. If you've seen the Alabasta arc there's virtually no reason to watch it. If it were ANY OP movie besides 8, I'd check it out. Movie 8 was maybe the worst anime movie based on a popular tv I've seen. Which is saying alot because they usually suck in general.
I mean, even the animation sucked in this one! Usually MOVIE means filler story with really nice animation and more fanservice like bikinis and dream matchups but this…
-
While I agree with the majority that movie 8 was horrible, the only reason that is making me want to go and see the movie is we'll get a taste of what the real Alabasta arc will be like once FUNi gets around to dubbing the first 143 episodes.
That and I'm dying to hear more of Crocodile's awesome new voice. The Wii preview online just doesn't cut it for me.
-
I won't lie, Movie 8 is just a shitty movie in general.
But like Cosmic, I can't pass up this kind of opportunity.
-
Well, I know it's a sucky movie from everyone elses opinions and I'm not gonna be able to go see it in a theatre…but I'm STILL buying it on DVD which will probably be 20 bucks. Despite the movie probably sucking, it's One Piece and it's support for FUNimation.
-
Ugh… Wish that "Find theatre near you" button was working by now... time's ticking away here. I really want to see it in theatres, but it won't do any good if I have no idea where it's playing.
-
You could try calling FUNimation and see if they have any ideas.
-
I say Funi needs all the support they can get, so if it's really that unbearable, just buy a ticket for it and go into another movie if you can or give it to someone else; Funi will get the money, in any case. I mean, why wouldn't anyone want to give them some support on this?
