Well this chapter didn't change my opinion of Franky(as I never really hated him once he revealed he was a cyborg…). Good chapter though, things are taking a turn for the worse...
franky needs to loose the damn speedos
oh and some speculations
franky will go and attack spandam, cp5 will naturally beat him and then tom will save him and be sentenced to death for attacking the government
then naturally, iceberg will blame franky for his death and then franky will leave water 7
but as for how he gets injured and turned into a cyborg, hell i dont know, maybe the train will run him over or something while tom is saving him
i really want to know about the goreisie(however the hell you spell it) guys, there is somethin fishy about em
what do you want to bet that the old guy who has the jewish haircut style is related to luffy (the one with the scar on his face), and also i bet that one of em is related to sanji (thats a long shot but they do look similar)

the only thing i can come up with is that franky is the cause of toms death (like i said tom will save him and then he will get sentenced to death for doing so), and that would explain why franky left water 7 for all those years and returned 4 years prior to where the story is at right now
this would kinda also explain why lucci told franky he is guilty of the same crime as tom (attacking the cp fools)
oh and i bet he spent the 200 million on another battle franky, and that will end up being the straw hats new ship, and finally after the recent flashback paulies chances for becoming the new member have decreased alot, it looks like franky will be it now but hell you never know...

i read the translations by ocean but i dont remember what they or if they said anything about knowing who robin is
i could have sworn they only made comments on the pluton and that robins pic was there to tease everyone again…
anyways if thats the case, do they say they know who robin is or what? or does tom say something about her?

Mm... Yeah, the next chapter would seem to be a turning point. Will Franky "die"? What will become of Tom... ? Will we find out why Yokozuna hates the train?
And, more importantly! WILL SPANDAM GET HIS SORRY ASS KICKED? That's what I really want to see.
After reading the script to this chapter, it appears that the requirements to be the leader of a Cypher Pol unit is to be a manipulative, evil, jerk.
I can totally see the Strawhats riding around in a Battle Franky!!

I don't think Franky will make anything like Battle Franky nor Pluton since that's the main reason getting Tom excuted or at least punished. See, Tom was almost atoned, but because of Battle Franky, even though it wasn't Franky's fault, probably Tom's gone.
CP5 need their collective butts kicked every bit as much as CP9. Talk about an evil weasel. I feel so bad for Franky. I think that we are very shortly going to see the event that leads to him being made a cyborg. This flashback just gets sadder and sadder. Next week will be interesting. We should see just how strong Ice and Tom are. The Battle Frankys are strong enough to take out a sea king so it should be interesting to see whether Tom and Ice (and maybe Franky) can handle them.
After the events of the flashback I really look forward to seeing Franky react to Lucci using the word 'Justice' that he seems so fond of.
I agree that Franky is not likely to make Pluton. He's more likely to do all he can to prevent it from coming to be. But we'll find out.
I'm most interested to find out if Spandam is still alive and in charge of CP9. Not likely since SS doesn't seem too forgiving with failure but would still be interesting.

im back minhawk_lucci (it good to be back), spandam is that guy that always comes to iceburg, but i dont see why he would think iceburg would give him the pluton blueprints if he killed the only father figure iceburg had

i dont think he will give them a battle franky since they always break and fail… but i think iceburg will build the ouro jackson jr for free since he caused them trouble.
I found it interesting that Spandam was a total dork compared to Lucci.

Great chapter and nice back info on the CP series. To it seems to be a toss up now on either Franky or Paulie joining the crew (that is if Paulie is still alive :( )
There's some interesting stuff here, most of which has already been commented on. But I have to say I'm still not feeling Franky. These flashbacks haven't really done anything for him as far as I'm concerned, and they seem to be giving much more development to Tom and Iceburg. Even Kohza's flashback appearances had more development than Franky's have had so far.

Hmmm…. five CP5 agents.... so is CP9 simply a four man cell or is there somebody else out there as well?
Unless I missed something, Tom built the Gold Jackson without joining Roger's crew, so I'm leaning towards the end result of this arc being that Iceburg and Franky will build the Straw Hats a ship, but Franky will not join the crew.
What we have seen so far just makes me think more and more that Franky's "accident" was nothing of the sort.
Yeah, I figured Franky will do that (how I came to the conclusion that he'll be alone in doing it, I don't know). But…..there's so much to him! Do we really need to learn so much about two different people?

Spandam is a total jerk… He's even more of a rat than Nezumi was. God I hate treacherous, pathetic, two faced manipulative weakling villains like him. -_-
Nah, I think Nezumi's worse. Nezumi is just spineless. Spandam at least has some motivation.

I see a definite trend of "government agents are sneaky, heartless bastards" here.
I agree that Franky is, right now, much more likely to build them a ship rather than actually join as a crewmember. Battle Franky 37 will probably be the successor of the Going Merry.

guess little franky learned something valuable, that it's not the ship that matters, it's the owner of the ship. this is another thing that we should have seen coming, since tom himself said couple chapters back: "there is no such thing as a pirate ship. a ship is a ship, if you put a pirate flag, it becomes a pirate ship. if you put a seagull sign, it becomes a marine ship."
but yeah, i sorta agree. this arc might end up with something along the lines of franky not joining but letting the strawhats take his latest battle franky. tom once built oro jackson that took roger around the grandline and back, so i can see this as something of an inherited will, franky will build a ship that will take the strawhat around the grandline and back. history repeats itself.
i think if franky DOES build another battle franky, it will be something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from his other battle frankys. notice how his previous battle frankys are all weapons and firearms? oh yeah, he's gonna build something crazily strong but with less focus on cannons and other weapons. and who's more appropriate to use the weaponry other than usopp? ^_^

On the other hand, there's the whole bit Tom said about how a ship is a ship regardless.

By the way, is Iceburg last name or first name? Remember the name plate; only Franky had both first and last name listed? Is it on purpose (they don't have either last / first name) or just Oda being lazy to think up? :x

I guess I just don't like assuming anything until there's some proof for it. We never had any clue that Ice learned of Robin during the same time as Franky.
