Garp was with them? I didn't see that.
I thought that scene was in the Miss Goldenweek cover story.
Coby and Helmeppo didn't appear in the Baroque Works cover story. Last time they appeared was in their own cover story. Unless I missed something. If you can find a pic, post it.

I´d really like to learn what makes you think so.
Nothing in particular actually. There is no proof for it whatsoever. Just some things that one might call 'vague hints' which could also very well be intended as red herrings.
They are as follows:
Chapter 100:
As Dragon approaches the scene we see Roger's famous words. He mentions several very important pieces of what makes 'a man' and we've seen them incorporated throughout the story as chapter titles during particularly important or poignant scenes. Furthermore after this point we see him talking about what very well could be Luffy.
"Tattooed Man: A pirate, eh…? Not bad either..."
So it seems he has a close connection to Luffy or at least is aware of his existence. Now this most recent chapter has brought up an interesting point to the latter half of that comment. What is the 'either'? What possibilities lay in store for him? A Marine perhaps? Was he perhaps expecting him to become a Marine like his grandfather?
Through the years fans have also compared what little we've seen of Dragon to Roger, the similarities, most particularly the nose, are striking but could easily be purposely misleading.
Let's not forget the impression Luffy's smile left on Smoker. Was it the same because they hold the same dream? Or is it something closer?
If it weren't for the animation this clue wouldn't be available but lest we forget the strange wind. It would appear to be the work of a Logia. Perhaps Dragon? It seems that way although it could be otherwise.
This most recent chapter brings up another interesting facet. Why isn't Garp an Admiral? He has seniority over Kuzan and Sakazuki for sure (we don't know about Yellow Monkey). Does he have an issue with authority as well? It clearly says he chased after GR but nothing about having caught him. Would a father chase his own son to protect him? Furthermore would a father sentence his son to death? If his actions towards Luffy were insidious it might not be the case but he seems to have some hard love for him.
That's all. Could all be false but hasn't been proven otherwise just yet.

"I was also just remembering a quote from Oda where he said the infamous "I'm going to kill off a crewmember" thing…We know hew as obviously referring to Merry, but then he continued saying "but people won't be too sad because I'm going to bring back a character from Alabasta". Unless this was a fake quote, could this be about to happen now since Merry is officially dead? Before a lot of people thought he meant Mr. 2 in the sidestory, but I was thinking that now would be a very appropriate time to bring Ace back into the story, since he was a character introduced in Alabasta, it could be him..." personally I always hoped Pell would be the one to join up with the SHs from the Alabasta arc. He is believed dead by the royal family there and always was more concerned with protecting those he loved than fighting. Im sure its just wistfull thinking on my part but I would love to see him join the crew. The only problem is if he has a dream we dont know what it is.

Could the guy from the Arabasta arc Oda was reffering to have been Garp? I know he wasn't actually in the actual arc, but didn't that cover-story come out during Araabasta?

That cover story came during the Arlong Arc I think.
I'm hoping that Oda is refering to Ace, but at the same time I don't think it will be him. Maybe bonclay escaped from Imepl Down.

Kinda like if a manager gets to stressed and steps back down to assistant manager or something. Perhaps Garp pretty much gave Ako-iji his old job, and thats the favor that Kuzan owes him for, while Garp stepped down into a more laid back position.

Come to think of it, the standards are pretty low of Coby and Helpomo. They could just jump around a lot, punch Luffy, and get beaten in the next panel and still be a lot more badass.
Or, maybe they beat some random pirates at the dock. That's a better idea.

While I can see them maybe getting a "club fruit" and "axe fruit" (get it? get it? okay they're Mr.1 rips), it's best that they don't have DFs. People will just go, "they have strong DFs."
Even Luffy gets that treatment. I remember a "why is the gomu gomu fruit so strong" thread, when is doesn't make sense that rubber alone could do the things Luffy did. Of course, I personally think that the power of devil fruits are more or less just specialized weapons for the user.
