yes, but a lot of it only really came to light late on, by which point most people just wanted it to stay in the past and be forgotten.
Only the other day Russia was held accountable for the mass killing of polish officers. Something I think previously blamed on the Germans.

the same strategy. Flatten an entire city of women and children in the hope of breaking the hope and moral of the enemy. The end usually results in the opposition giving up. In fact I think England used the same tactic against Argentina on the Belgrano.

Hiroshima would have been another Dresden if it failed to work. Also, you did nuke two cities, so it's not exactly an even comparison.
But then again how many cities were firebombed into ash prior to the two bombs? Did that have a point or what?
