Chapter 431 and beyond

Well, the saga that lasted about two years is finally coming to a close. The story's changed a lot since then, characters have developed and new parts to the storyline were revealed.

Given all of this, we're heading into the "Intermission" period again. Like the parties in Alabasta and Skypiea, which had revealed some other interesting plot points which gave way to future arcs.

What's to come? Water Seven isn't as full of history as Alabasta or Skypiea were, so it makes me curious. Maybe we'll find out more about Gold Roger, which we didn't really learn much about since the bell in Skypiea.

Perhaps even the meaning of 'D', or at least a hint…

With only a few days until 431 comes out, what does everyone think?

I hope some of the many loose threads in OP are tied before Oda creates a bunch of new characters. It's about time to get rid of all that baggage now that all the SH backstories are finished and nothing else is holding them back.

If Oda does his normal pattern, we'll get a Skypiea like arc, with characters of no importance to the plot.

And I dont know about anyone else, but Im not ready for another Rob Lucci type of fight (length wise) so hopefully the villain is similar to Wapol/Enel

I don't know if there will be a celebration chapter like other arcs had. This time it didn't come out all glory and happy. They lost Merry. They may celebrate Robin being back with them, but it won't be like the past arcs were so much so.

While she may have just been assuming, didn't the merwomen (I forgot her name. Kokoro or something like that) say that they'd understand what she meant by merpeople gain legs after a certain age when they got to the merpeople island? I'd like to think that's coming up next, where the Straw Hats finally get their fishman/merman crew member! I NEED ONE TO SATISFY MY LUST FOR THE FISHPEOPLE!

The island just seems like a good place to build up hype before the SH have the vicious upcoming fights against the Warlords, the Admirals, Whitebeard, Shanks, or whomever else may get in their way. I think they may fight or at least meet Blackbeard here though. Just a hunch. They won't fight him here yet though, cause he'll be needed for later on. He is D afterall.

Here's what I think:

Mini Arc on the Island of Cuisine: Iceberg says the ship will take a while to finish building, and suggests the Strawhats spend a day or two partaking in the mask festival. Nami leaves her log pose with Iceburg and they take the Seatrain to the Island of Cusine. While they're there, they meet a Master Chef that was a former member of Zeff's crew. Sanji hears a little more about Red-Leg Zeff and is challenged to a cooking contest.

Please don't tell me… With all the SBSs... And the Mini-series starring Hatchan/Hatchi... People STILL don't know there is a difference between Arlong, Hatchi, Chuu/Chew, Karoobi, Tom etc and Camie, Kokoro.

Arlong, Hatchi, Chuu/Chew, Karoobi, Tom = any humanoid with massive amounts odf fish-features is a FISHMAN!

Camie (that girl from Hatchi's mini-series), Kokoro = Any human-like person with fish tail from the waist downwards is a MERMAN!

I swear I'll beat this into the brains of every One Piece fan eventually. Curse early translations, bad translators and the 4Kids dub for this confusion… T_T

The word for the fishMAN isn't actually a real word in Japanese. It's one Oda made up: gyojin. Notice something similiar? Yeah, it's ningyo backwards, more or less.

Anyway, I think there will be a long break because...

1. Every marine/government agent who knew the Enies Lobby incident was connected to Water Seven is either dead or unconcious... And if they did find out, Spandam would be punished for treason.
2. The marines saw the Straw Hats running away on the Merry, so they'd obviously look for that same ship... Which doesn't exist anymore. :P
3. Aokiji probably wouldn't let them find the Straw Hats so easily, I think what he witnessed gave him a complete change of mind (Robin's past would've only been the beginning).

Although, after leaving Water Seven, I'm expecting another mini-arc like Davy Back or either seeing what everyone else is up to on the Grand Line.

Oh man…

Give them a super bounty, and do a year timeskip. Then start it a year later with them just taking down some marine ships and we see some new looks (slightly different looks).

Only to find out the Straw Hats for a year have been troubled by the Marines, but have not had anyone strong step in. It could help make this new era that some pirates talk about come closer or be ready. The Strawhats could have been on tourist/small islands for awhile... Just hanging out like Shank's crew had done in Luffy's hometown. Maybe have some long time waits for log poses.

I dunno, but I think a timeskip just slightly would be awesome. With a new ship powerful enough to fend off enemies with ship battle... Its very possible that they could go a long time without a major fight, leading to a timeskip.

Where do you get that idea? Luffy probably knowns full and well what his middle name is. Last time I checked no one in the OP story asked "What does D. stand for?"

They just reffere to it. Its probably not that big of a secret in One Piece, just to us.

And a timeskip would be the gayest thing for One Piece if not at the very end. I'm sorry it just is.

Well I would expect for there to be a few more chapters taking place in Water7 because, like everyone said, they'll have to run and hide from the Marines b4 their ship is officially revealed. Last time the King of Alasbasta covered their asses, but Iceburg is just a little bit less powerful than Cobra. So what will he do??

My guess is that it would have something to do with the secret of CP9, and Iceburg's assasination attempt. The frickin government finally had the balls to kill the guy with their top secret task force and they failed!!! Now that Iceburg is alive and well, he could tell the whole world about what happened to him. Of course the government could just try to kill him again, but Iceburg isnt that stupid; he'll find a way to fend off the government now that he knows about their dirty little secret.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I would think Franky, his family, the main Galleyla guys, and the Giants are hinding out in one of Franky's secret locations, and they are probably building the new ship. We'll most likely find out what he bought withthe the 2 billion beri, and it's most likely gonna end up being part of the new ship, or maybe the new ship itself.

I predict that all the people who went to Enies Lobby (including the giants) will be part of the new Galleyla, under the protection of ICeburg. There will be a huge bounty of Franky's head so Iceburg can't protect him and so he'll have to go with the Strawhats.

If Saulo didn't know, why would Luffy? It could just be something that's passed down in the family.

Not all D's are related, indicating family branches. Or maybe Ace and Luffy just don't know that Blackbeard is their Uncle. A lot of people have relatives they don't know.

It's strongly indicated during the Jaya Arc that the Strawhats don't talk much about themselves. Sanji mentions having grown up in North Blue, but none of the other Strawhats had a clue.

Zeff kicked Sanji all the frickin time. Sanji's a good observer. It's implied that's how he learned his cooking skills as well. So like Quasi-Father, like Quasi-Son.

Ditto. Oda has talked a little about Sanji's left eye in the SBS before (though it could be a joke - the other major role I've seen Sanji play in the SBS is giving perverted fans Nami and Robin's measurements). I also wonder if there's more to him wanting a bounty than just one-upping Zoro.

Zoro and the other crew members (sans Robin and Usopp who just got a ton of spotlight) could use some more central attention. Come to think of it, one of Zoro's swords just broke - we might be more likely to see more of Zoro now that he needs to get a new sword/fix Yubashiri.

We don't know that for a fact. You can't "Teach" cooking. It's something someone has to learn by observing a master chef at work.

Oda just found a colorful way to present Sanji's profession, because in reality it's not as glamorous as it's made to seem.

Anyone know how actual "time" has passed in OP world. Seems to me that there always doing something productive (maybe not always Zoro). Productive meaning traveling to next island, headed for a fight or fighting.

There was a better timeline made by a user on AP forums.. the SH journey has been about a month I think, so a month break would be really long for them.

I wouldn't mind a timeskip, unless it forced Oda to do a "One Piece II" type of thing.. which would be.. ugh.

Then it starts with all the strawhats older in new clothes and probaly new haircuts also there will be a great new ship and a new crew member never introduced before (he was recruited during the time skip)

And them after just a few chapter Luffy will find One Piece and it's over with a message "I'm getting tired of this Signed: Oda, Eiichiro"

Okay, now seriously they'll probably will have to spend sometime at Water7 because of the new ship and also the Log Pose charging and them maybe a new crew member will join (don't assume it's Franky yet, it might be but it can also not be)
