So i've finally learned how they are subbed.
That's just the translation. Wanna see the effects?
^ That's the karaoke for "Kokoro no Chizu". XD I'm sure that most of the time the effects take longer than pretty much everything else combined… XD...And I don't even get to see the video while I sub, 'cuz I can't figure out how to make Sabbu do it. XD;;; I just have the audio stuff to stare at.

Ain't there a lil video tab near the audio one? Maybe clicking on it will work ^^' In aegisub, you gotta load the video then the audio… No idea how you do that with this Sabbu thing though =P You use it to translate with a pre-timed script or you just write the translation in notepad?

Karaoke effects might look like they take long (because of the masses of lines/code), but it's done automatically in a few programs aswell as Aegisub.. Karaokers have it easy!~

Yeah, I've tried loading video in, it probably either needs to be uncompressed or with some other codec I haven't tried yet… Both of which seem like way too much work just to do a script. XD
I get a pretimed script, then just pop in my translation ('cuz I've worked ahead, as we're still, y'know, behind...) Sometimes I have to time stuff too, though, 'cuz slicky misses stuff, or splits stuff weirdly. XD

Well, I've never watched the subs, but I still wish the best of luck finding a new translator. I know how much it sucks to be missing a vital member of a fansub group. XD
If ADC is missing a translator and Gerusama (or what is left) has a translator but are missing other members why in the hell don't you unite, am I missing insurmountable differences here between the two groups? Is it a pride thing or is it impossible for some other reason? Maybe duplicity of positions? Because I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this.
I guess I'm saying something stupid for some reason or another but I couldn't resist to mention it; I watched Gerusama and then ADC from the start and I think it would be great. You really don't have to continue subbing old episodes. The ADC quality of the missing Gerusama episodes is fine and K-F will get there eventually for ultra HQ, what we need now are decent speed subs for the current episodes.

Well in my mind ther'es a month of buffering here with the filler eps, minus strawhat theater of course. Hopefully there will be fansubs by the time things pick back up again. Either way I greatly respcet ADC for evrything they have and hopefully will do in el futaro.
It would never work. K-F + ADC = win, however.

We've got enough people now, but there was a while when Geru (translation/encoding/I think karaoke) and Hope (um… effects of some sort, and I think maybe encoding, not sure) first dropped out when we were trying to get things to work... but then we all just split work different, and Cheez is in charge now, so we're fine, and have all positions filled again.
And I think the problem with combining is the fact that ADC is a speed-sub, and we're not. Dunno for sure... It's an interesting idea, though. I just don't know if it'd work... and also, there'd be too many of some position. Two timers, even more effects people, spellcheckers, encoders... I'm the only one in a postion that's not duplicated.
And it's probably an issue of pride, as well. I don't personally care, but I'm also new to the group; no episodes I've worked on have been released yet. XD Everyone else's been around a long time, they probably wouldn't want to join up with another group...
That's just what I think, though. XD

Detective conan, Inuyasha and other animes that branched out past hundred always had problems with this kind of stuff. Especially OP and Detective Conan.

ah yes such a curse as one piece is the only anime with 206 episodes subbed by the same group.

- but hey, I thought the same thing - Garusama is one cool group, as is ADC. ADC's got the guts, Gerusama's got the translator ... why not give it a try? Toss out the olive branch and see what happens.
Other groups have done it in the past, doing joint projects - ++ there's no competition either
releases are sync'd - if I were in any position to say anything, I'd say go for it. What's the worst that can happen? One side says "no."- another thing, from my personal experience doing entertainment stuff online -

take a hardcore stance on them, just like DB. You need to. Do whatever you can to cut their access - because they don't deserve anything. If they don't have the capacity to understand you're a fan just like they are - doing the work because it's something you LIKE not because it's something you're doing as a job ... well, show them who's boss.

Geru-Elites… ADC-sama... Ô-o Weird but interesting idea XD We wanted to change name and go on our own at some point (not just an Anime Download Center publicity group, but a fansub group instead =P), but that never came to light x_x; I think I read somewhere gerusama(group) wanted to change names after they get past the eps gerusama(person) translated... must be from Murasaki in the gerusama section. Damn confusing x_x'
I wouldn't have minded a join myself when I was in the group, but I'm not sure about what the guys would have said ^^'

They don't have to combine groups and be like adc-sama or anything they just do one piece as a joint. There's no reaoson not too, they lose no pride, tons of great groups like ANBU, A-One, A4E, etc. have done joints on big series like Naruto etc. They lose no fanbase because they both keep their sites and names. It would just say ADC-Elites and Gerusama instead of just ADC-Elites. Tough times call for different measures, there's no reason not to do the joint.

Joining the groups together is a good idea. But only if they want to. They may look at their fansubs as pieces of art. Something special that they did. It's not the same if someone else comes and adds this and that and a little here and there to you wonderful piece of art. (thinks of cosmic's spiderman/sogeking pic)
Anyways, I'm just thinking about the other side of the coin. Whatever happens is fine with me. Someone will translate OP. It's too popular for the people of the web to leave it hanging.

Where is Wickio anyway?
It seems that volunteers have started to generously give their assistance to subbing the episodes..Yet no reply from ADC has come yet..Here is an example..Hi Guys! Does anybody know if ADC still needs translators? I'm a bilingual japanese guy who can translate the anime but so far nobody from ADC replied back when I sent 2 emails. Any replies would be great! Thanks

I don't get this at all. The subbers last a long time, those with quality at least - 206 episodes, 50 and 20 so far. That's a good record I think.
