Jessica Drew or Julia Carpenter? Both?
-
Jessica Drew.
I like how lame the PSP exclusives are.
-
I'm actually considering getting the PSP version. I agree the exclusives aren't that great, but I have X-Men Legends 2 on the PSP (X-Man fan) and like the fact I can play it anywhere I want rather than being stuck in my room infront of my TV.
-
IGN did a piece on Daredevil, confirming him into the game.
They also indirectly confirmed Nick Fury.
-
Saw an add for it in one of the comics I bought today. Galactus looks incredible!
-
The game is officially out today, and the VIP site confirmed and posted costumes for Nick Fury and Daredevil (both are unlockable characters). They also posted the costumes for Ms. Marvel and Spider-Woman, and a look at Moon Knight.
Ms Marvel's costumes:
http://vip.marvelultimatealliance.com/sitedata/vipcontent/launch/costumes/MsMarvel.jpgWarbird (black and yellow): a good melee outfit that gives her Energized Fists and additional Critical Strike chance.
Original: able to boost all stats and add damage to any ranged attack with Point Blank.
Sharon Ventura (aka She-thing): special Photon Damage powers and increases all Resistances.
Binary: enables her to max out her powers including Photon Damage.
Spider-Woman's outfits: http://vip.marvelultimatealliance.com/sitedata/vipcontent/launch/costumes/Spider-Woman.jpg
Classic: increases all resistances but also has Bio Energy Mastery, where she increases Energy damage of relevant powers.
Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.: maximizes her melee attacks and ability to dodge.
Secret Wars/Blue and White/Arachne/Whatever: maxes her Health while being able to temporarily increase all skills by 1
Spider-Girl (May Parker): Bio Energy Master as well, but also increases to amount of XP gained
Daredevil's Costumes (they didn't post information on state changes): http://vip.marvelultimatealliance.com/sitedata/vipcontent/launch/reveals/daredevil.jpg
Nick Fury (no stat changes posted either): http://vip.marvelultimatealliance.com/sitedata/vipcontent/launch/reveals/NickFury.jpg
Moon Knight (just a few shots of one costume): http://vip.marvelultimatealliance.com/sitedata/vipcontent/launch/costumes/moonknight.jpg

I love this game already.
-
Cool you can be Black Nick Fury
-
I must say I am really dissappointed that Hawkeye and Moonknight are exclusive's for systems I won't be playing. I really would love having them on my team. Lets see my team would probably consist of Cap, Wolverine, Spidey, and the fourth is kind of open perhaps the Thing or Deadpool. Screw Iron Man I don't care how powerful he is, I would use Dr. Strange before I use that douche bag.
-
Glad Samuel L. Jackson made it in the game. I'm anxious to see what Moon Knight is all about, I hear he iss Marvel's Batman (which so far sound like the perfect character to me). Deadpool is always good as well.
-
Right now my tentative team is something like Ghost Rider, Dr. Strange, Deadpool, and Thor. I'll probably switch it around a lot since there's other characters I really want to use such as Nick Fury, Cage, Moon Knight, and maybe Black Panther and the Surfer.
I hate how Mr. Fantastic sounds like he'll be a lot of fun to play as, because I can't stand that douche. Same with Iron Man being really good (and I figured he would be; he was godly in Legends 2, and fun to play as, but this was pre-Civil War). If Cyclops were in the game, I could make a Douchebag themed team.
Speaking of teams, I really hope there will be some kind of bonus for putting Black Panther, Luke Cage, Storm, and Blade on the same team. Haha.
btw, the game got an 8.2 from IGN, which I think is pretty damn good.
-

That makes planning a bit easier. I guess for the start of the game my team will be Deadpool, Cage, Thor, and… Surfer, since I preordered and will hopefully get that code to unlock him from the start. Maybe I'll use Moon Knight instead, but him and Deadpool might be redundant. Ah well. I'll sub Cage and the 4th guy with Ghost Rider and Strange when I get them.
GameFAQs has some codes, methods of unlocking, and special team bonuses (when you have a team of certain characters, they'll all receive a certain stat boost) up here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox360/code/932586.html
EDIT: No bonus for an all black team?! Racism.
-
Ah, good to see a clear list on the characters. I wanted Colossus, but I'll just get if for PS2 so there aren't any Wii games pulling at my leg for me to get when it comes out. So I guess that'll leave me with Daredevil, Wolverine, Spider-man, and Vengeance. Unless it also comes out that there's a Mr. Fantastic costume that has him as someone different.
…Haha, fucking team "Double Date."
-
Nah, all of Mr. Fantastics costumes are the same.
-
I tried it on single player today (waiting for Wii to play it with friends), games all right. The graphics could have definately been better, this is not next gen graphics at all, but meh.
The characters have a nice individuality about them, each with their own quirks. Team bonus' are pretty cool "femme fetale!" etc.
Overall, until based on what I've seen I can guess this game would be fun for multiplayer for about 5 hours.. or at least until you can unlock new characters/costumes. I'd give it a rent it first rating.
-
Once i get this game the character i'm choosing are Deadpool,Spiderman,Iceman, and Ironman
-
I've just started to see a few commercials for this game and it looks great! Is there actually going to be a level to battle Galactus?!? I would love to have an FF team battle VS Galactus. That would make me a very happy FF fan.

There is, and you can (you also get an hp bonus if you use the 4 ff4 characters).
-
is this game 1-4 players?
-
Yes.
I'm playing it right now. I can't decide on my final team. So far, Classic Captain America and Ultimate Deadpool are in the team. The other two spots are constantly changing between Classic Ghost Rider, Scarlet Spider, Stark Armor Spiderman, Classic Thing, & Beta Ray Bill.
I love Deadpool's "Tah-daaaaaah!" line.
edit-
Since when was Cyclops a douchebag? -
Since always.
I really want to play it, but I'm waiting for the Wii version. Mmm, Moon Knight.
-
-Wolverine and Deadpool are insanely good in this game if they have certain skills unlocked. Ghost Rider as well, and Doctor Strange.
-The worst character seems to be Invisible Woman, she's weak as hell.
-Thor seems like a staple because his skills break through defensive characters (IE shield wielders) and its extremely helpful.
-Strange and Johhny Storm's hit everything skills are very <3
-Spiderman, Ghost Rider and Mr Fantastics reach is the most fun to play IMO.
-Iron Man has some very fun technological moves.
-And Iceman has a very awesome support spell that gives the entire team Ice Hand Blades, but he's relatively weak against bosses..That's all for now until the Wii version.
Marvel team of Douches (AKA the most boring conversations that will literally make you commit suicide): Cyclops, Captain America, Mr Fantastic and Electra (coincidentally most of them are leaders -.-)
-
It's good to hear that Ghost Rider and Deadpool are good. Dr. Strange as well (I plan to use all three of them), but I figured he'd be awesome since… well, he's Dr. Strange.
I bought the guide (yes, even though I won't play the game for a few weeks... I'm a dork who loves to read guides), and they said that Electra is really hard to use effectively. I really have to wonder why she's in... probably has to do with how she's featured in two Marvel movies (no matter how awful they are). Early on it can be assumed they needed a strong female character, but... they also ended up using Ms. Marvel, Spider-Woman, and Storm, so... Electra blows.
-
The major reason Dr Strange and Deadpool are 2 extremely useful characters, moreso than any other reason (battle-wise) and why I suggest teams use at least one of the two is this: They both have an ability that lets them teleport.
Now this is practically meaningless the majority of the game, but holy hell is it important in certain situations. You can skip so much hassle and puzzle by just using teleport in way too many situations. They're both quite good battlewise as well (Deadpool not as good as Wolverine, and Strange more support than anything else) but I find that the teleporting feature really makes them two really useful characters.
-
Yeah, Teleport was awesome in XML2.
The guide says that Strange's "Black Magic" ability is awesome because it can turn enemies into crates (insta-killing them).
-
Know what this game needs? A villain version, this is what I've come to realize the more and more I play as the "bad boys" of MUA. There needs to be a city of villains-like MUA where the bad guys cause havoc and chaos.

I'd like a Marvel vs. DC version. I know it's cliche, but I'd be fun & HUGE game nonetheless. They just gotta keep all the lame characters out.

If you wanna get a DC/Marvel game with no lame characters, then pick up Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

If MUA had Owlman and Quicksilver I would agree with you whole-heartedly but they don't.

Good one (16 characters)
Still, I think it would be a fun game to finally see the companies come together in game form. But only if they can pull together a good story.
-
Quicksilver's a douche anyway.
Anyway, I also heard that Luke Cage is awesome in this game. He sounds like a lot of fun to play as.
I guess my teams will still be like…
Starting out: Deadpool, Thor, Luke Cage, Moon Knight
Later/main: Ghost Rider, Deadpool, Dr. Strange, and ThorOthe guys I want to implement (not sure how to put them in teams with the others yet): Nick Fury, Black Panther, Cage, Moon Knight, Surfer
Characters I refuse to use: Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Blade, and Electra. >_>

My point wasn't about quicksilver it was flash >.> and you're obviously not keeping up with ultimate avengers, because in the latest issue he shows he's the biggest badass on the team, so much so, he would scare Bruce Wayne.
-
Sorry, but I find the Ultimates universe to be kind of lame as a whole.
The Quicksilver seen in House of M and Son of M is a bonafide douche.
-
I'm still trying to figure out why Elektra's in this game.
Anyways, I be getting this and a 360 soon. So my team will probably be:
1. Cap, Spidey, Thor, Wolverine
2. Moon Knight, Blade, Luke, & Panther
3. Deadpool, Surfer, Strange, & some random hero -
My friend has been telling me about this game a lot lately.
As for Quicksilver, I liked him a lot when he was in X-Factor. He was arrogant but awesome. I haven't read House of M, but from what I hear it seems like he's probably not as cool as he used to be.
I'm not sure which characters I would use.
-
Doesn't Quicksilver have some incest thing going on with Scarlett Witch? Or was that in Ultimate?
-
He does, and so what?
How many manga and anime have incestual characters? Lost had incest in season 1, but no one seemed to mind.
-

Basically, he freaks out when he hears the Avengers/X-Men consider the possible option of killing Scarlet Witch because of her growing instability + dangerous powers. Quicksilver convinced/used Wanda to use her reality warping powers to make it into an "ideal world" for mutants, with their family ruling at the top. Magneto (when his memory is restored) is rightfully pissed off and beats the hell out of his dumb son, prompting Scarlet Witch to re-rewrite reality and take away most of the earths' mutations. The actions of his retarded kids makes everyone hate Magneto for some reason.
Later on, in Son of M, he steals the Inhumans' Terrigan Mists to give himself new powers, and tries to use it to "repower" mutants, despite its risky nature. Magneto calls him a fool and tells him to stop, and Quicksilver beats him up.

I have no reason other than curiosity to ask, I just remember someone telling me that. I didn't believe them but now I do. Also I don't watch Lost at all.
-
Yeah, I heard everything was his fault or something.
Here's why I liked him in X-Factor:

(Not my scans, but this was the only place I could find the scene without downloading the issue as a .cbr) -
Black Panther isn't very good. His special attacks aren't very interesting, and vary on different way of striking the opponent with your fists. His basic strikes are not easy to get used to.
Of course, Deadpool is awesome. His teleportation ability and healing factor put him above Wolverine in my list. Captain America is also great, as his attacks are quite useful. Ghost Rider is great because he has a chance to resurrect dead allies. Luke Cage is a very good powerhouse, as well as the Thing. Points go over to Luke Cage though, for having a healing factor. Spider-Man is pretty good once you get the alternative costumes. The Scarlet Spider outfit allows you to gain more EXP than the other characters with EXP boosting abilities have (The Surfer being the only other one to share Scarlet Spidey's same EXP booster). Stark Armor Spidey has a chance to dodge attacks, which is great. Spidey also have his Spider-Sense, which allows you to freeze time to attack your opponent quicker and avoid their attacks better. Iceman is pretty much the only one who can put out the numerous fires in the game, so there's so importance.
-
Man, I wish the Punisher & The Hulk could've made it into the game (damn licensing issues)
-
…................... Pitfall Harry with Marvel Characters
-
So I got it on Friday at noon and forced my self to stop at 1am to return tot he real world. So far though:
Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Iron Man kick ass and form my current team. Daredevil's also a favorite. Deadpool didn't work so well with me, and pretty much all of the women in the game are just crappy versions of Iron Man. I also have the problem of hardly liking anyone else….but the gameplay is fun as hell, I'm definitely giving the XML games a try when I finish this.

On a side note, apparantly EA is taking another shot at Marvel Nemesis with a sequel. The first one had so much potentioal, hopefully they can get their act toghter and make it good this time. If EA can somehow iron out the crap from the first one, I could finally have a worthy successor to Power Stone.
-
I was thinking earier - why didn't they use Marvel Comics 2/Fnatastic Five Thing as an alternative costume? For those who don't know, "Marvel Comics 2" refers to the Spider-Girl universe, and in said universe the Thing's left arm and part of his right leg are both cybernetic. Personally I think this would have made a much better costume than movie Thing.
-
Hell, in the main canon he even had a cool looking spiky form.
Maybe they wanted his costumes to be lame so he'd match up with the other Fantastic Four in lameness.
-
Or they could have used that helmet thing he once wore (then again I can't remember if they actually used it. I don't own the game yet).
