I….hate....garggggh!
anyway, I had a pretty bad day, some problems with school and all, but I kept my calm and went through the day pretty well...until I encountered this fucking problem.
I did some basic coloring of Robin's leather dress in that 'bookshop' piece about a week before, then I saved the psd file, took a preview screenshot of it, and didn't touch it until today.
about 2 days ago, however, my photoshop 7.0 also just suddenly CRASHED and won't start up at all again.
hence I had to dl cs3 to finish my coloring.

but when I opened the robin piece today, I found out that its mode is set to 'grayscale' as opposed to 'RGB' when I open the file.
The result of this is some loss of color which basically made the whole dress look SHITTY.
I have no idea why it does that, and I don't know how to fix it.
I tried to send other ppl the psd file, but when they open it they're stuck with 'grayscale' mode too.
so unless I find a solution to this problem, I'll have to recolor the leather dress again, which is absolutely SHITTY considering that I was already pretty satisfied with what I had before (with a few more touch ups to be made).

Maybe it's because of my superiorily inferior art knowledge and the facts that I've never heard of greyscale or RGG before, but even though I do see a difference in the colors, I don't see how either of them are shitty.

I personally didn't see the big deal. While I admit there's loss of color, they both look great and practically the same.

Buuhan: I think the one on the right is the one Eggy was displeased with (since the one on the left looks like it is in photoshop).

I'm assuming that it's the great difference in the grey shades which makes the shadows seem less smothe that upsets Eggy.

I personally thhink the left one looks a bit better even if both of them are still really good.
