what is with crocodile's scar on his nose? i think mihawk did it to him because it is one and mihawk uses one sword.

He might have been smelling porcupine ass. Who knows. I'd say it was from his own hook. I don't really have any good ideas about it.

Purely cosmetic I would think. If it has an origin, I don't think we'll ever hear about it. Though, perhaps someone will ask Oda that question in a SBS corner, maybe ol'Croc will get his own mini story, highlighting his earlier pre-Shichibukai days?

I always thought of it as a souvenir from some face-changing surgery; but since that seems pretty unlikely, perhaps he got it in some marine-battle in his old pirate days. Could have been the same incident where he lost his hand.

I always assumed his hand was bitten off by a crocodile (y'know, like Captain Hook), but I have no clue how he got that scar.
Although, for the record, it is possible he still has both hands, since his hook's got that big base part which is easily roomy enough to contain a hand underneath.

Croc's scar? Um…Nasal canal surgery? ...
About his hand...Its possible that he could have transformed his hook into a hand, considering that he can make it dissolve into sand whenever he wants. Its unlikely, but it doesn't seem impossible considering the rather strange nature of his body.
