I think I'm going to pick up some more manga tomorrow. English-translated, of course.
I'm probably going to get a volume of Keroro Gunso (Sgt. Frog), but knowing there's usually a three-for-two offer where I shop, I thought I'd pick up the first volumes of a couple of new series, since I'm at current with my favourites. I prefer to read from the beginning, but I get the impression a lot of series take quite a bit of time to catch.
What I've liked:
OP, ES21. Bo-bobo in small doses (one chapter every six months  )
What I sorta liked: Bleach, Death Note (won't bother buying it cos I got spoiled to death). Ruroni Kenshin might be good except I can't stop reading the main character's name as Hiruma (damn ES21) and the art style makes male characters seem damn effeminate.
What I didn't like: Hellsing. Great art, but the writing was hit-and-miss and the characters seemed a bit exaggerated. Yu Yu Hakusho didn't impress me in the least with its style and excessive violence, though Pu may be cuter than Chopper. Naruto is too angsty.
What I absolutely didn't like: Lupin III (too crude, too filthy)
I prefer character development over non-stop fighting.
Worst case, I can always get OP 11 and see what all the Viz-bashing's about.
