      http://www.ohgizmo.com/2006/08/06/nvidia-to-release-18000-quadro-plex-video-card/

“According to Nvidia, a node can achieve up to 64x full scene anti-aliasing (FSAA), deliver a performance of up to 148 megapixels on 16 synchronized digital-output channels and eight HD SDI channels. The firm says that the fill rate reaches 80 billion pixels/s while the geometry performance is rated at seven billion vertices/s.”

okay honestly $18,000 dollars for a video card….....this may just be pushing it a BIT too far

It's not pushing tech too far.

It's just ridiculous to buy it.

It's not for people to play Doom 5 on, although some idiot will.

It's for people who have legitimate business reasons to move a lot of polygons.

It surprises me it's not rack-mounted.

I thought video cards went too far when they developed that SLI/Crossfire rubbish. Two $400 cards which combined are no faster than a $30 card the moment you turn off the 3D games.

It's only "too far" if it ties into intercourse.

Learning about circuits, I find this kinda cool.

Nah, it was about 10 years ago when they did those things to put your willie in when it went to far. I mean, who in the right mind would want to hump a computer?

I don't care if it's not to play regular games on, I want it.

I'd never need a video card upgrade ever again.

I want it, even though I have no reason to own one and I could never afford one.

I've heard about this. nVidia reallypushed themselves to make this. I wonder if ATI will do the same in the future.

too much information man…..but I find it even harder to believe someone would MARKET that idea.

I may be late to the party but doesn't most computer technology of this caliber start out as expensive as hell and too much for the average person to need? Which eventually becomes standard?

If all my talents and powers were taken away from me by some inscrutable Providence, and I had my choice of keeping but one, I would unhesitatingly ask to be allowed to keep the Power of Speaking, for through it, I would quickly recover all the rest.
