Yo. My English teacher is thinking about maybe starting up a drama group, but she is not sure yet. I am really trying to get her to, and I have decided to write a script for a play to try and convince her. Then it hit me. Choppers past, with a few modifications would make a superb winter play. I have all the plans out, and I am basically ready to start writing the script. But, I dont want you to talk about this. This topic is asking, am I allowed to even base a play script off of Chopper's past? If I give credit to Oda, is that enough? Do I need permission or anything like that? I was just wondering, because I dont want to be arrested for copying his work. Well, please reply, and thanks in advance.

"Yo. When do you think people die? When their heart is pierced by the bullet of a pistol? No. When they are ravaged by an incurable disease? No. When they drink a soup made from a poisonous mushroom!? No! People die….when they are forgotten. THIS HAS TRULY BEEN A WONDERFUL LIFE!!!"-Dr.Hiluluk

Well, try to make your own story based on Chopper but differant characters, differant settings and differant story.

Well.. technically it could be plagiarism however your professor most likely knows nothing about One Piece so you're safe.

However it isn't plagiarism because you're simply recycling a plot idea from another author.. Oda does it all the time… as the old proverb goes mimicking is the greatest form of flattery.

Its just a school play…I don't see how it could be plagiarism, even if you were to say its your original idea (which you wont) nothing will happen.

Tho if theres some OP fans around you are bound to get the stuffing beat outta ya.

Just credit Eiichiro Oda, in the opening dialouge or something.

LOL! I always do that when my teacher asks my class to make up our own story. I still want to give credit to Oda, though^_^

Basically, I do the same story but with different characters, and differ. things they say,(I also forgot to say different places and names) and no one in my class knows about OP except my best friend, since he's a narutard he doesn't care. So, I give all (that's what I meant) credit to Oda. Oh, and sorry for dbl posting! 🙂

It's only plagurism if you take credit. Schools do plays of existing stories all the time. It's called adaption. But if you do basically the same story, just change a few small things and say you wrote it, then it's plagurism.
