What the hell makes you think strength increases with the numbers…?
And furthermore, even if it did, why would it be such a huge jump from Wanze to whoever the hell is in CP8?

but seriously, the fight wasn't drawn out for that long. it's the first time i follow a luffy's final battle on a weekly basis and i think it's ok. we saw one gear a chapter (nearly) then back to gear 2 then next chapter is the end. nothing THAT bad, imo.
Think the Croc and Enel fights took a lot longer than this. Besides, the last couple of chapters have been more about the BC than about Luffy's fight.
Here's the thing. The fight has been going on now for over a volume. I'm not talking about the past 3 or so weeks, I mean the fight itself. In Croc's case we had multiple fights. Also with Ener and to a lesser extent Krieg and Arlong. They were kinda cool because even though Luffy would [predictably] get beaten/distracted/drown/thrown overboard, he would at least be doing some other stuff and not just fighting, fighting, fighting for weeks on end.
For the final Baroque showdown, he met Croc in 204 and delivered the final blow in 209. Yeah, I know it seems like a long time but it was just 5 chapters.
Luffy met Lucci in chapter 408.
There's no way I can fault Oda because he has a plan in mind but it's just kinda like….come on already -_-....It's especially painful when there are weeks like this and last where nice chunks of the chapters weren't really all that necessary.

CP5 Corgi, CP6 Jerry, CP7 Wanze.
And ignored the second point.
Guess that would be up to Phlemingo. I don't really care about that 3 powers thing^^
What the hell makes you say hell? Simply put, because CP8 wasn't revealed. There must be a reason, duh. And that's my theoretical reason.
And my fellow forum member covered the point of why increasing number means stronger.
CP5 Corgi, CP6 Jerry, CP7 Wanze.
CP7 Wanze, CP6 Jerry, CP5 Corgi, CP4 Soldier, CP3 Farmer, CP2 Grand Mother, CP1 10yo
CP5 Corgi, CP6 Jerry, CP7 Wanze.
As I recall Corgi is a beaurocrat, not any CP. Could be wrong.

Agreed in full. Sadly, tomorrow will be a good day to die. ¬_¬

Yeah, he's introduced as "World Government Officer", I just checked.
We will have to go with spandam as the cp5 then^^
the corgi cp5 thing came into being because corgi and cp5 spandam in the flashback were the first to show that prominent WG symbol on their coats and back then no one knew that all cps had that symbol and that it was the sign of the WG.
When Luffy sees that Usopp is alive and in danger, he will get renewed strength. Luffy still doesn't know that SogeKing is Usopp! I can't wait.
