I've always been a Paulie fan. In fact, there's still a small part of me that's still rooting for him to join, even though I know the chances are like nil. But there's always hope!
As for crew postitions . . . I still say the gang should get their own zany clergyman.

Alabasta. I'm not trying to sound like a fanboy. If you asked me a year ago I would have
said KCG would never join. But now I'm trying to figure out where Oda is going with all of

Strawhats. But if that's true why didn't Oda leave them with the giants with everyone else? Yes, and I know Vivi is a Strawhat but she didn't stay with them.
I don't think we'll see the next crewmember for another couple of arcs….and when we do, though, I think it'll be something so original and cool it makes our ears bleed. Such is oda.
I don't see a giant ever getting on the Going Merry, it would be destroyed when he steps on it.
There is such a thing as half-giants and quarter-giants so I wouldn't count that out yet.

I know he got defeated, but come on, he's a good guy sorta…I'm sorry, i just love the giraffe stuff, i think it's so imaginative...It would kick ass to see kaku join the crew, even though franky will probably get it. For that reason I would want Kaku. It's not like he wants to be the best, and with Zoro, he would know he's not. But he could be an ally and sparring partner (not rival type like Sanji, more like a peer). But, I don't like Kaku and don't see him joining.

And you can't accuse Vivi of being a deserter. For one thing, if she had become a Mugiwara, she'd be putting Alabasta on the line. Second, she has a family. A father (real father) and Igaram and Teracotta. Plus, I think she'll end up marrying Kohza by the end of the series.
The marines would have had no problems taking her family hostage if she had stayed with the Mugiwara. Plus, she has a kingdom to lead.
All of the other strawhats have no obligation to anyone but themselves. Nami's village is free, Luffy and Zoro are drifters, The Ishii-20 became good again and Wapol was defeated, Zeff has plenty of other cooks, Galley-La has plenty of Shipwrights, Robin has NO ONE, Usopp wants to become a brave warrior the sea and has no reason to stay in Syrup Village (Kaya's safe now). Vivi had a lot of responsbility and she couldn't just abandon that.

You know, even though it would own if Kaku did join the crew (as a 9th member or something), I don't care that he won't.
I just hope he won't dissapear. I want him to be the first (well smoker..) regularly reoccuring marine character. He doesn't have to do anything special, just not dissapear from the story, maybe even have little side stories like Shanks, the guy is too wubbuble to ignore the rest of the series :/

Um, Going Merry got destroyed over a year ago, at chapter 359 page 5. Oda even did it Kishimoto style (Did I get that name right?? Naruto mangaka) showing two whole pages without words on it, just showing Usopp's shocked face:

The Kokoro adventure to Merman island sounds like a really good idea, and a helmsman from Elbaf sounds good too. I wonder what story arc, but I'm 75% sure that it'll be a mini arc like the foxy and Jaya arc leading up to the main arc. But what I'm really looking forward to is the next ministory, to see why Oda is stalling so much with the status pages.

I still doubt that Franky will join. I believe he will give the mugiwara crew a ship just like Tom did for Roger. Paulie has more of a chance of joining the crew then franky. Franky is only helping because of what he did to Ussop. He also felt touched about the mugiwaras friendship. Franky can go back to water 7 an act as if nothing happened. Heck he might even join Iceburg as co-owners.Making it a ship building and dismantlers all in one.

go back as if nothing happened? he helped the strawhats takedown cp9 and other goverment officials and he also destroyed the blue prints to pluton you really think the world goverment is just going to let all he did slide? franky can no longer go back to being franky since the world goverment now knows his true identity. franky is going to have to leave water 7 for good since he would put everybody in danger if he went back. the vice admirals think paulie and the rest of the franky family is dead so they can truly go back to water 7 as if nothing happened not franky.

Helmsman and Musician. He said he wanted 10 nakama, and I'm assuming he's not counting himself. It is impractical for a person to say, "I need 10 friends," and count himself as one of those 10. Other than the two positions I proposed (one of which Luffy has alluded to for approximately 400 chapters now) there should be one more position to fill. I'm not going to reiterate why they need a Musician since they have Franky because I'm too lazy to look up some of my other posts on this same topic 
Scout/Helmsman/Priest/Journalist/REAL musician/Fisherman/professional scalvager…. there are plenty of possible positions, though some more useful than others. And that's not including a cabin boy or lesser helpers (like an assistant cook or nurse) which could also be useful. With only two more spots to fill, I think it should be more than easy to find positions for them.
Why would they need a giant, when they already have chopper and luffy?
I can see a fishman or fishwoman because I am sure there are going to need a good swimmer soon and also a person who can fight underwater.
They just need 3 versatile crew members. There is not anything else specific they CURRENTLY need, but that can change over time. Like the situation with the shipwright.
I am not feeling the 10 or 11 crew people only. I think they should add alot more people if they want to battle other big pirate groups. Whitebeard had alot of pirates and im sure most of them arent weak. They were laughing at a guy who had a 180 million bounty.
I think after this arc, they are going to have people search and find them and want to join there crew. Because of what happend at enies lobby and they became famous.
Luffy has always wanted a Musician….and you all should know Luffy better....what he wants, he gets....... (most of the time).....
he probably would settle for Franky for a while, until he meets the musician he wants!!!!
Couple things.
I don't see why everyone has to think up these ridiculous scenarios about what secondary characters will join, simply based on Robin. Oda's already (more than) proven that he is not a one-trick pony. Is it possible that someone other than Franky will join at the end of this arc? Of course it is, but that doesn't make it likely. We've seen one arc with an unexpected character join versus five where the new crewmate was obvious. Just because Robin is the freshest in our memories doesn't mean her joining is the template for all future crew members.
The musician thing… has always been a joke. If Luffy ever does find a musician, I would expect him/her to come last. When they were on their way to Usopp's village, they talked about how they needed a chef, and Luffy added "a musician." When discussing shipwrights, same thing. It's a running gag, which I could see be fulfilled, but I think Oda would let it run much longer than now.
(And please, enough about Franky also being a musician.)

Musician is a must in pirates crew..
And also a Copper..the one that made things like barrel ..to storage all the inventory items..such as tins, lumber, sail, food, beer, en more stuff like that...sometimes they also called a cabin boy..
The one who in charges for inventory..a Boatswan..
there's also positions for Vice captain or might be QuarterMaster/Commander

Zoro is First Mate (vice-captain) and Nami is bossy enough without another vice captain. Sanji also orders them around sometimes but not for important sailing/crew stuff.
This is the way I see the "hierarchy" of the Straw Hats. When I say the term "mate," I mean it in the martial sense.
Luffy - Captain
Zoro - First Mate / Swordsman
Nami - Quartermaster / Navigator
Usopp - Gunner / Handyman
Sanji - Second Mate / Cook
Chopper - Doctor / Helmsman
Robin - Historian
(Franky - Carpenter)
Right now, there's a little bit of overlapping in roles. In battle, I tend to see Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji in charge of things in close combat, while Nami and Usopp deal with nautical combat. Robin and Chopper go where they are needed. When the ship is just sailing, Luffy decides where to go, but Nami pretty much runs the ship. All the other Straw Hats pitch in in their various roles, of course, but Nami is definitely the one making things happen.
Really, the only postion left after the carpenter is helmsman; any other positions will be bonuses, like Robin as historian or a new crewmember as a musician.

Please read the posts you reference. I never said I didn't like musicians. I am a musician. Beck is the story of my life. I said that, in One Piece, Luffy wanting a musician is a running joke that I would only see fulfilled at the end of the series.

For all those reasons a musician should join around 3/4 in the manga (post red line, before last major 2 arcs) in order to establish character development.
Personally I loved all the nakama the SH had, including Vivi and Ace, and what made me love them is the character development. If a character shows up at the end ther is no room for that, ergo you want a bland filler character that at best fullfills fan-boy "hes so cool" marketing character rather than an established deep character. yeah, good idea…..since Luffy himself is a paramecia, and Chopper is a Zoan, and Robin a paramecia....definitely need a logia user for the mugiwaras........

Err, I think a mermaid is just perfect, incredibly fit in for me.
Mermaids are known for their dizzing amazing singing, as both weapon and entertaiment for the crew.
Remember that 5 SH were dead by now without Kokoro, A MERMAID.
Also I think a helsman isn't really needed, I'd like some fan of the crew begging for their attention and company actually [with a handy DF not being controlled well]. That's just the ideal thing to me.

Nah, that's not happening. For one thing, Zoro's gonna have a new strongest attack by the next arc.
And who says he has a dark past? Sure, it's suggested that all the CP9 were taken in as children, but how do we know the WG did give him all the ice cream he wanted?
I don't think Kaku will be joining up…....because it would make no sense as to why he suddenly changed his mind after being defeated.........at least there has to be a reason for it....

Uh, I said I didn't see it happening until then. No part of that indicates what I do or don't want. What I want is for Oda to continue to create One Piece as he has all along, thankfully sans fan input.
