Spandam got a pretty good owning. Like I said in the spoiler thread, I wanted to see him put up a better fight, even though all evidence pointed toward the contrary. I'm slightly disappointedm but i don't mind.
That said, would Usopp fans have really felt bettewr if he fought this guy?
And, it looks like Lucci is at his limit. I'd expect an end to this awesome fight next chapter.

So mermaids are transformining creature, perhaps the original zoan type-types of this world, that's quite cool. needless to say the next chapter will be the interesting one in regards to Kokoro and poor chimney she's bound to wonder just where she's from and what she is. it seems that Kokoro will be with us right through to the next major arc: Mermainia.

As for the chapter….well we finally know the status of mermaids in the OP world. Sadly...I think I've seen more of Kokoro than I needed to! Yeesh...I really hope that they come across...nah, won't address that now.
And did I see Lucci use "Life Return" as well? Hmm...if Luffy could learn that, that might be able to help him in the long run, particularly since he was stuck as a helpless chibi for most of the chapter.
But still....ewwww.....

That was the coolest chapter in recent memory. Luffy hitting Lucci's jaw and Chopper's expression made my day.
There have been close calls, but I'm 90% sure the fight ends next week.

I just hope Luffy doesnt go Gear 3rd again. Hopefully he finishes Luffy without his "OMG I LEARNED THIS JUTSU THIS ARC" move. Gear 2nd finishing move would suffice, Gomu Gomu no Jet Storm ftw.

I…wasn't really fond of this chapter. Luccis' half-form, Spandams owning and the mermaid thing were all pretty fun and interesting...but nowhere near as dramatic as last week.
And IMO, it would be sucky for the fight to conclude after an undramatic chapter...I haven't really felt any drag. Sure, it's been going for a long time, but it's been awesome, and there has yet to be a completely "Luffy vs Lucci" chapter. -

I don't think Oda could have set up a final blow any better, if he did just now. The best parts are always when Luffy looks dangerous, and it's hard to tell what can happen. The others have had some interesting moments here, so I hope 424 seals the fight with a bang.

well the trans has just got upto the luffi/lucci fight so i'll reserve my judgement until it's completed. but i must say the whole franky/funkfried/spandam scene was written superbly, kudos to Oda.

Page 14 was classic. Chibi Luffy taking a swing at Lucci had me rolling and my co-workers looking at me like I was an idiot.
I'm going to join the "Next week is the KO of Lucci" camp. Lucci is definatly at his limit, and Luffy is going Gear 4th! (just kidding!)

i was wondering and something thats increase my suspitions of the straw hats vs the buster call is the fact that robin said the buster call isn't to be feared anymore and also if im not mistaken i think the mermaid (forgot the name lol) is taking them in the direction of nico robin.
