Scanlation: 422 HQ? - NBST - English

kinda odd to start off like this.

That's us. we're a fairly small scanlation team that has been operating for about 6 months. usually we do naruto manga. but i always wanted to do OP as well.

I'm new to Alrong Park forums. but i used Murasaki's translation for this one. so i should post it here as well.

Pretty impressive. Definitely competitive with established groups.

What I like:

Nicely researched translation note pages.

An interesting balance between translating the SFX (like Rush does) and leaving the art intact (like Null does).

What I'd change:
-Minor typo on credits page… bt instead of by
-Also, cover page refers to Oda as Oda Eiichiro, and the credits page as Eiichiro Oda. Pick one.
-Please use the same font even for big attack names (see page 11) It looks more professional, and less like the old scanlations (look at like the MSN group at Alabasta...)

about Oda Eiichiro <=> Eiichiro Oda.
I know its familiny names come first in japan. but in some places he's reffered to as Oda-san or Oda-sensei. which would mean that he's Eiichiro Oda
in other's he's called Eiichiro-san. implying the opposite..
which is it?

well, i used different font(more stylised) for larger sfx because i want to give in more effect. a bit like how kaizoku-fansubs uses different fonts for the attack names of different characters.

I've actually seen it both ways WRT his name, just to be a puzzle. Both English and Japanese official volume covers say "Eiichiro Oda", Null uses it too, but Rush uses "Oda Eiichiro". Honestly, I think either one is fine, it just looks odd if you go back and forth.

well on the opening color double page in this chapter it says "Oda Eiichiro"
although i usually prefer to use "Eiichiro Oda"

your work is pretty good cuz you used those bad raws and worked alone, but you can't get any HQ from those ^^, unless you spend 100 hours on it =).

thanks, Null was an inpiration to me during those dark days when only poor quality, badly typesetted, crappy jpeg compressed OP scanlations were available. you guys do really great stuff.

well, that's not really my intention, … and don't worry, i won't kill you now.

i already have a scanlation crew. + i have the world's most annoying frenchman as nakama. he would annoy me to death if i took that test even if it was just to see how i compare to you guys...

so, no thanks. i'll continue doing my releases on me own little by little.
