Anyways, is the dub on hiatus again? Because I remember two weeks ago they were showing a movie, I was working last Saturday, so I didn't get a chance to see what was on.

I doubt mail and letters would matter. This is 4Kids we're talking about. They're not exactly a "fan-freindly" company… They'll decide on their own whether they want to renew or not.

Most likely 4kids will renew because as long as they can even make a slight profit on the media, they'll try to keep it. In the case of Pokemon, Nintendo USA is technically a division of 4kids, so they might get some sort of monetary compensation.
Hopefully though, 4kids will just secede and drop the licence for another company like FUNimation or Viz to pick up. (I personally hope FUNimation, because Viz is more likely to make the dub as kid-friendly as 4kids did.)

They did a pretty good job on Naruto and Bleach if I do say so myself.
But yeah, I really hope 4Kids will drop the lisence so FUNi or Viz can pick it up and give it justice. Though I wonder if Toonami would allow it to have a second run. (Well it'd be a completely different show, but who knows what they'll do)

I think Toonami would give it a second run. I'm pretty sure they are aware it's shonen & that it was raped by 4kids. One Piece was at one point the most popular anime in Japan, so I'd say the chance are somewhat good (at least I hope)

This guy ruined sooooo much.
He's messed with my 2 favorite things in life. Sonic the Hedgehog and One Piece. Anyone got his email address? I want this guy to know how badly he's gutted the characters he plays.

I'd love to take a crack at this guy too! I didn't know about this! He got Sonic! He's worse than the guy who plays Sanji (And perhaps Luffy the way you look at it). God, why does he want Sonic to sound like a coward? Seriously, that voice sort of works with Jet (It actually worked rather well), but not with Sonic.

Don'tcha think you're being a little hard on the guy? I seriously doubt that he was the one who decided to "ruin" those characters. If you wanna get angry at someone, try the voice director.

As far as Sonic goes, blame Sega [of America], they're the ones who made the decision to switch the voice actors for the past games with the 4kids cast. From what I've heard, the actors [for the original Sonic games] were completely blindsided in this decision. That is, they did'nt get any notice or any information leading up to them getting replaced.
Now, concerning the 4kids cast, we've talked about this sort of thing several times. It's not [entirely] the actor's fault. Griffith is just doing his job, and he just happened to be casted as Sonic, and (chances are) he just happens to be following the advice of his director. If you're gonna take a crack at anyone, it should probably be the voice director.
(Actually, I haven't really watched Sonic X or played any of the newer games, but from bits that I've seen, Griffith really isn't that bad, when you compare him to Usopp at least.)

I second this. Even Jaeel White,who's formaly known as Steve Urkel in Family Matters and has done Sonic's voice in the past cartoon series has a better Sonic voice than that guy!

He seems like a pretty cool guy, Maybe if someone asked him really nice, he could come over to Arlong Park.

As one of the very few people there who was talking to him, that's not true. Two people were talking to him about the quality of the dub, asking intelligent and non-bashing questions and comments, one of them was me and the other was a fan of the dub. As I recall, the problem was that he just kept making assumptions and tried to tell us things that he was assuming because he knew nothing at all about the original version. I didn't even want to talk about comparing the dub and I kept trying to change the subject but he would ignore me and kept going on about it himself.

"Luh-ffy" is how they say it the Singaporean English version as well. In all honesty though, when I read One Piece for the first time, I thought his name was pronounced "Luh-ffy".

However, I am surprised they got the whole "Parameica/Paramythia, Logia, and Zoan" classes and fruits right. That'd be something I'd expect them to screw up, but they actually put the right powers in the right class.
