Hello! I've been lurking for a bit now, but just got around to registering… At any rate, I've been doing an absolutely embarassing amount of OP fanart/doodles over the past few days, and I am really starting to feel sorry for the people who watch my scraps on DA, because… well... There's just too much of this stuff.
But hopefully some people here will enjoy it, and it justifies all the time I spend on this crap.

Sorry, most is in grayscale, as I've been on an OpenCanvas binge lately, and I just can't color in that program. :C Sorted more in order of subject than anything.

Really neat stuff there! Lucci looks downright scary in some of those pics.

His halfway form looks cool too, I think yours is a little more convincing, design-wise, than Oda's.

Conekiller: thanks, but I still think he looks far more like a bish bish kawaii neko catboy~~~wai~~~~ in my version than in Oda's. Which is one of the things I really like about his. But still, thank you. :3 Glad you like 'em.

nguyen: XD Thank you, they were fun to do at ungodly hours of the morning. I'll certainly try; I have a more complicated piece that I want to do with them, but it's probably going to take me a while to get off my arse and color it.

In other news, Corel Painter and I have made up, kissed, and become a happy couple once again. :')

Muura pointed out that Kaku's eyelashes were cute, and being the hopeless lovesick schoolboy that I am for Muura (despite being a straight female), I… had to. Too bad you can barely see them at this resolution. :C

Ameru: Uhh… Well, most of the black and white ones are just there to, y'know, kill time, give me more Lucci to look at, so I wouldn't call them serious paintings (pen-tings? haha. no.) or anything... Though the stuff in Painter usually takes longer and is generally more polished, so I guess that stuff is more painting than doodle. But these take completely RANDOM amounts of time, and it's kind of hard to make the distinction.
That wasn't coherent. At all. I'll get back to you if I start making sense, okay?

Oh wow, that Franky is awesome. But pales in the more awesomeness of that Crocodile. It looks like a portrait for some sort of live-action One Piece adaptation. Very well done.

Rootbeer: There was always this, which still makes me go "AWWWW" every freakin' time I see it. EVERY. FREAKIN'. TIME. And a few other pieces on DA, but eh, this one takes the gold.

As for the vampire thing…

…You know, one day, I think I'm actually going to get off my ass and like, start summer homework or something and stop drawing weird fanart and reading AP Forums. ONE DAY.

Oh and of course, since the last post actually had some things I spent time on, MS Paint dump! Most of these were done without zooming in for... practice. Yes. Not masochism.

Trying to learn how to ink. And I bought one (1) prismacolor marker because I figured there's no way I'll learn to do shading in ink properly. EVER. And midtones are always good. All of these are on little 3"x5" notecards. :3

That's fucking amazing. It looks like Oda's characters existed in real life and someone made a portrait of them, especially the first Lucci pic and Kuzan. Brilliant.

Pretty quick, just to see how the character would look with less Oda, more Helens. Good practice, I think (though most of it is rushed and the skintones are godawful); I rarely use less idealized facial structures, etc. :3

I think it'd be kind of hard to do the other ones, though, until they get more coverage in the manga (or if they already did, if someone points me to a chapter…); the one face-shot isn't too revealing.

(Though, frankly, I've come to seeing fanart as more of a disease, for me; I've effectively stopped drawing original things in lieu of... the CP9.)

WHEEE! A lot of CP9 art! I just got my first Lucci fanart done… have a look if your interested.
Anyways... Your style is interesting. I mean... You draw the characters in realistic style but it actually works. I have seen a lot of realistic portraits of One Piece characters before and they have almost always looked strange to me because characters kind of lost something which was an essential part of their character. You actually managed to keep those parts pretty well.

I love this piece, the use of sepia and your blending are excellent, and it seems very mysterious, almost hauntingish.

OMG…omg...! Your work is freaking amazing!!! But this has to be my favorite... along with all the Lucci love in your first posts... but damn you have some mad skills! And all the Kaku love is making me sooo happy!!! He looks so adorable without the hat (I'm so unoriginal giving him 'marimo' hair XD) And yes, he does have cute eyelashes, and I've often wondered how he'd look in real life...

Oh snap you guys, I thought this thread was pretty much forgotten by all. And then I log on today and see that I've been nominated (SEVERAL TIMES) for an award I didn't, uh, actually know existed! I swear, I spent 15 minutes staring at my monitor and wondering what happened. Still haven't figured that one out.
