IPod question

All right, so I just got my first iPod today. It's a good product, I like it, ect., but I have a slight problem, and I know this is going to make me sound like the dumbest person ever, but I can't turn it off. The manual says I need to press and hold the pause/play button (looks like |> ||), but it still won't turn off.

I have a 30 GB white iPod video with a click wheel. It is brand new out of the package today.

EDIT: N/M. . . it started working. . . could a moderator please close and/or delete this?

I borrowed my roomie's Ipod one day. I couldn't figure the buttons out either. lol

Before they close this, incase your wondering. Just press and hold the play button to turn off the iPod.

sometimes that happens… just hold the button a little lower then normal. it has to do with positioning, sometimes.
