PS3 TGS rumored games list

An article from a Sony employee apparently leaked out the PS3 games that will be showing and making there debuts at the Tokyo Game Show. Seeing is how this employee wanted to be left anonymous, we at ps3.net can only say that this is a rumored list of games being shown/playable and games making their debuts, seeing is how Sony has yet to further announce it as true.

The games that he listed to show at TGS 2006 are as follows:

Resident Evil 5
Devil May Cry 4
Assassin's Creed
Grand Theft Auto IV
Siren 3
Metal Gear Solid 4
Final Fantasy XIII
Tekken 6
Silent Hill 5
SpiderMan 3

Now for more announced titles making their debut to the show at TGS:

Killzone 3
Fatal Frame 4
Onimusha 5
Kingdom Hearts 3
- Sequel to Shadow of the Colossus
Sneak Peak at God of War 3
Ninja Gaiden 2
Battlefield 3 or believed to be Battlefield 2142
- Sneak Peak at Zone of the Enders 3

I actually wanna play every game on that list. If this is true, I will getting a PS3 no matter what. But something tells me the list is not right (Ninja Gaiden 2).

There being a Zone of Enders 3 or not is the line that will make me purchase a PS3 or not.

I'm this close to declaring the 360 as my secondary console this gen, and ZoE3 could change that.

I really want to be able to play KHIII but maybe I wont miss it too much.

Its been stated Kingdom Hearts II would be the end for Sora's story and we'd never see em again. They also said KHIII wouldn't be called Kingdom Hearts III.

SotC 2 in particular is a pretty big temptation, the first is one of my favorites.

They need to take their time with this. The awesomeness factor will eventually wear out, and they definately have to put more effort into the story now that the original story has been told. It's good that they've established a base, this is ussually where game series mess it up.

OK.. so.. I played the tremendously long ZotE 1 on GBA and.. I friggin loved the storyline.. I'm sad to say I never played it on PS2.. nor the sequel.. now this isn't because I didn't absofreakintudly loved the first story, but because this game demands you sit your ass down and play it through because you can't stop playing this awesome story!…
So my question is.. since it doesn't seem to get a lot of publicity.. is this game worth it (as well as ZotE 2) or not.. I try not to play long games, games that I can put down after an hour are a good thing because If I get addicted.. school, work, social life all die in 3 days of no sleep constant playing.. so.. is this game that good, and should I go back and play 2?

The only one that might spike my interest is Onimusha 5. The rest are possibiles, but for most of them (especally MGS and FF), having not played the latest incarnations in the series (i.e MGS3 and FFXI or XII), I've found my old interest for them is nothing more than an ember.

Oh and Satan will be making snow men before I EVER buy anything Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts and GTA related. I can't stand any of those series.

You know the game won't come out for like 5 years. Tetsuya Nomura and the Kingdom Hearts team are working on FFXIII: Versus; and by looking at just 2 pics, I don't think they would work on KH3 for awhile. Because of this, the PS3 price would definitley drop a little by then.

I'm afriad it is pretty much the Disney aspect. I've grown to dislike them alot, not because I've grown up but becuase they've ruined some of their classic movies with pointless sequals. Additionally they've yet to use any of my favourite FF characters (Red XIII, Laguna and Sabin spring to mind, though they have used auron). I will add that I have played the game for roughly an hour, but it failed to impress me.

I bought Resi2 but wasn't impressed with it. And the changes they made to Resi4 didn't interest me either. Generally I prefer the Onimusha series as I feel they have an enjoyable plot that makes you want to progress.

One man's treasure is another man's garbage. We all ahve different tastes in gaming. I'm mainly interested in old school, fighting, RPG, platform and DMC style games. The rest just fail to interest me. However to avoid flaming I've learnt to keep my opinions on certain series to myself. For example I once mis-read a thread about Halo, thinking it was for people outside of the fandom as well as Halo fans, only to then find myself getting flammed becuase I happened to dislike it and failed to see what all the hype was about.

Granted I perhaps shouldn't of voiced my lack of interest in those series (it was late at night, I was tired and have personal issues with the 7th of August so my judgement was not good at that time), and for that I appologise. However I still stand by my opinion that I fail to see what all the hype is about with those series.

Out of this list of so fresh and original franchises, I'm only interested by Silent Hill 5. I like what Yamaoka said about the new tone he'd like to give to the series, the stuff about setting the action in a normal world on a sunny day and "make the reality rot". The rest I couldn't give two shit about.

Even though it's not official, it's pretty solid line-up. Something for everybody. "Sequel to Shadow of the Colossus" probably won't be similar to it's predecessors, Ico Team seems like a type of a group which would be more interested in doing creative and brand new things. SotC is, though, with Ico among best of PS2 and I wouldn't expect anything less from a sequal.

Kingdom Hearts is ok I guess, but it's miles behind the real hw franchises like MGS, Zelda, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, hell even Metroid or Castlevania. Not even talking about the quality of the games, but the number of entries of each franchise, their place in video games history, and their combined sales.

I don't like the GTA series because I think Sony are milking the franchise to its limits and already are running out of ideas, so unless they actually put some effort into authentic originality here then i'll still hate the series.

Out of those I don't like GTA or Resident evil and I like Zelda, but not nearly enough to consider it one of the greatest series of our time.

Edit: Also, as much as I do like Kingdom Hearts, there are perfectly legitimate reasons for somebody to dislike it/not think it's amazing.

made me laugh as RE, Zelda & Mario are obviously important games in the history of video games, while Kingdom Hearts is just another fun game among a thousand of others.

I think FF7 is treated in much the same way as Kingdom Hearts everyone who played it originally think it's as holy as can be but I played it only a year ago and I didn't think much of it compared to some other RPGs like Tales of Destiny 2 or FF9.

Well it's mainly because FF7 was usually the first FF the younger kids played and think of it as god's gift. It's mediocre at best IMO. FF6 beats it hands down. Same case with kingdom Hearts, treated like a godsend, but it's average at best.

But to stay on topic, the only PS3 game I'm looking out for is MSG4. Or if Silent Hill 5 does indeed come out. Maybe a sequel to Shadow of the Colossus, hopefully it's done right like ICO and SotC.

I haven't layed Metal Solid Gear yet. I don't feel like playing the PS1 version. If I start off with MGS2, will I lose track of the story by a lot or barely?

You won't understand the enitre reason for sending Raiden in the Big Shell, if you can count that as not missing anything….
But if you have a gamecube you can just get MGS:Twin Snakes. it's a remake of MGS.

Twin Snakes was dissapointing. The added FP feature from MGS2 ruined alot of the difficulty not to mention the retarded, "Snake flipping over a missle in bullet-time" bullshit during most of the cinematics.

You're better off playing the classic on PSX.

I agree with you on that 100%, but you never know, he might not be able to get ahold of the original. He even said that he didn't want to play the PSX version. Just throwing another option if he can't.
When I saw my friend playing Twin Snakes, the cutscene between Snake and the ninja felt too like much like the matrix. I'm just staring going "wtf":blink:
