But seriously, that kid was kind of creepy. I enjoyed Erza's flashback the most out of the ones we've seen so far. And I can't believe that Jeral thinks Erza betrayed him, Wally and Co. just because she didn't want to take part in his demented scheme.

Really though. As Cara said, every series has their ups and downs. Current One Piece arc for example….
Yeah I agree I love One Piece but I would love to see that kind of dramatic arc type again like Water seven, Enies Lobbies , Arabasta , Skypeia,and last but not least the famous (and the arc that got me into One Piece) the Arlong park arc .

Thriller Bark was a pretty dramatic arc.
And if the series was just drama drama drama drama I probably wouldn't even like it as much. I'd actually like to see an arc like Davy Back again.
And uh, yeah, Fairy Tail. I think that it's best as something that doesn't take itself too seriously. I mean it has to have some sort of seriousness to it, but this current stuff is just really gay.
My favorite chapters of this arc so far were probably when Wally and co. were introduced, and when Natsu and the gang were just beating up generic henchmen.

Personally I hate Erza, and I hate that type of character. Doesn't lessen the manga's coolness at all for me though, Natsu more than makes up for that.

I have to say, I've been mildly disinterested in Fairy Tail ever since this new arc started… I'm still reading it every week; but it just seems like Hiro Mashima isn't too skilled at giving the supposedly epic parts much weight.

Well not too much, if he tried to make it too complicated it'd wind up like Shaman King: taking too long just to finish a fight. Side it keeps the story moving. Simplistic storytelling can be a strength as well as a weakness.
Am more curious what the council has planned, seem like something that could lead to repercussions.

The council thing was cool. Looks like Jeral and Siglein are connected somehow. Also Zeref looks to be the final bad guy of Fairy Tail seeing that he's already responsible for two super powerful demons in this series. My one gripe is how quickly Sho seemed to believe Erza. Hopefully, he'll pull a double cross. I can accept Shimon believing in Erza though.
Next week, SQUARE DUDE vs NATSU>

When I saw the RAW, I thought Simon hugging Erza was something like him forgiving her. Reading the translation of that scene brought a smile to my face, especially finding out that he still saw Erza as his friend after all this time.
I can't wait to see where Shou's whole counscious conflict is gonna lead him, as well as Natsu's fight with Wally. I've been wanting to see more of his magic.

The flashback ended and the fights are gonna start. I just new this arc would turn around as soon as it got past the flash back. And the fact that there are new guys who look like they eat S-Mages for breakfast makes it all the sweeter.
