Changing the subject a little? How do you think the Strawhats will survive?
I want to see Luffy deflate after gear 3, and rocket himself somewhere else like a baloon let go.
If Nami, Kokoro, Chimney/Gonbe, Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp are lucky, they'll be carried by the flow of water back to the beginning of the tunnel…
...but then they'll have to take a boat to the Gates of Justice.
Remember what Zoro said? With the Gates open, the current has stopped the whirlpools. So perhaps it's now possible to take a boat from the Tower base to the Bridge of Hesitation.
Wouldn't the water flow take them to to Gate of Justice, since presumably that's where Zoro and Sanji came from, and the water is flowing in the other direction?
You mean the tower of justice? Yeah that's where they're supposed to end up. But they'd be the target of BC cannonballs then… They're screwed either way.
Maybe Dragon will come and say "SURPRISE, BITCHES!"
But that's just my idea.
Gargh, I forget the layout of this dumb island. Is the Tower of Justice the tower they fought CP9 in, or one leading to the Bridge of Hesitation?
yeah theres nothing inbetween the Tower and the Gate but the Bridge
Wait, I got it!
Jabura's chicken is going to show up and fight the crew, but then Hattori will show up and fight him off.
After all, if every animal is introduced for an important role, the chicken needs to do something right now too.
You mean the tower of justice? Yeah that's where they're supposed to end up. But they'd be the target of BC cannonballs then… They're screwed either way.
Actually, they're not so much screwed
All the BC Cannonballs are being directed at Ship number 4 right now, instead of at the Island
Way to go with subtle hints Oda!
But that's only temporary. The ships should resume the bombardment next chapter, except if Oda does take the Tex Avery road and make Luffy and Lucci switch from ship to ship, destroying or making them destroy eachother in the process. Something I personally wouldn't like to see.
Status aside, judging from all the damage one ship took, that doesn't seem likely. That ship took 2 gear 3 attacks, maybe something from Lucci, and still it was cannonfire that took it down.
2 attacks, yes and zero from Lucci, i think.
IMHO, Lucci has yet to show his real power (attacks) and Luffy hasn't showed us what will vanquish Lucci. We've only seen 3 Gear Third attacks thus far. I'm pretty sure Luffy has something else up his sleeve!
EDIT
Also, since we now know that Lucci is that ruthless (killed all 500 hostages BESIDES the pirates), i'm sure he too will kill LOTs of marines and/or destroy BC ships, adding up to Luffy's damage to the BC. With all that, even if the BC isn't destroyed, it sure will be, somehow, crippled.

Ah, remember that Lucci has hit the ship with at least one rankyaku, maybe more.

Actually (i've just checked), he did 2 rankyakus: the 2nd one damaged the ship quite heavily, but the 1st one i'm not sure, since it didn't show whether (sp??) or not it hit the ship.
This would make 3 or 4 hits. I'm pretty sure that if Luffy inflates his other arm, he can do a Gigant Gatling Gun and that can destroy a ship within a few seconds, don't you think?

Like the other guys are saying, Luffy and Lucci merely dented the ship and broke its masts - it was the rest of the fleet which Busted it. So Lucci and Luffy destroying it seems unlikely. That leaves-as you say-destruction of the ships by the BC itself, which i agree would be stupid…but I really can't see Oda having one solitary BC ship remain after having continually bombed the others, and then go "...whooops."
Also, 5 of the ships have VAs'. Not all of them might be as heartless as Helmethead, or perhaps value their own lives.
i still keep the idea of lucchi tied to elder stars in sum way also he was wg member at 13 and then joined cp9 very interesting
Well, we know that these ships are definitely durable, if they took so much of what probably Luffy's strongset attack, and Lucci assault as well. I imagine that Lucci vs. Luffy will destroy 3 ships tops. The rest…who knows.
Shame there's no chapter next week, I really want to know what happens to Luffy and co. Come to think of it, wouldn't Luffy bursting out of the wreckage of the ship be a good set up for the final blow?
it ends soon maybe there both look beat lucchi more since he was in animal mode for a first time
I'm kinda wondering how the bullets on Lucci's back coincidentially resembles the World Government's flag. And how bullets made wounds like that. All seems fishy.
Maybe the WG put scars on him test him somehow or to show that they own him (who knows)
Doubt it.
This quote,
If the WG is so bad at start then how the hell did the world manage to put up with the WG's policy against human rights?
reminds me of the Bush Administration. Hahaha. How do we manage to put up with those crazy guys in office, jeez…
Maybe the WG put scars on him test him somehow or to show that they own him (who knows)
Well, The VA's pwn him. Yes, it was a terrible pun.
What?!? There's no chapter next week…???
@Masta:

Yep, no chapter next week. The anime we surely suffer.
Also, I predict that at least one of those VAs will be pwned. It just doesn't seem like Lucci is inferior to any of them.
If it works like last time we had a break, we may have a spoiler surfacing friday though.

I would rather have to wait about 10 days for the next one and 11 more for the one after then to wait 8 days for the next and then wait 13 more for the one after, but that's just me.
About the pets:
With those brutal insanity, remember how did Lucci managed to pass the 5-years-spying in Galleyla calmly and savely?
By doing the ventriloquist act with the pidgeon.
According to Paulie, when cp9 showing their real identity was the first time he actually talk by mouth. So Hattori might intriguingly had a role to keep Lucci on the legal way waiting the licence to kill.
While Tyrannosaurus the mouse (or norway rat?) and Gonbe the cat-rabbit, at least, had been a nice eyecandy in Sogeking's theme song clip on the anime:
"Nezumi no medama mo rokku-on; omae no haato mo, ROKKU-ON!!!"
(eyeball of the mouse lock-on; your heart too, lock-on!!! yeaccch)
My neighbour's 3-years-old kid loved them so much, and memorized it by heart even though he didn't understand any japanese. At least for now, they were good enough for marketing to smaller children… (^_^)
But Kokoro (and Chimney) should not have closer family relation to Tom. She was only described as his "Beautiful" Secretary; and later, his train driver. She does admire him so much, but that's it. Her character is to be compared to Kalifa as Iceberg's "perfect" secretary.
You know, I wonder if we've seen the exact attack Gear 3 attack that broke that metal door.
What would happen if Luffy just blew the air out of his mouth?
nice chapter, and i really think Oda added that Lucci flashback to show people that Rob has always been an cold blooded killer.
Shouldn't we be celebrating the fact that this is the 100th chapter of this arc?
Obviously, with Hattori's never-before-seen devil fruit! …That works underwater!
Yea but how and by whom was chopper saved in skypiea?.
You know, I wonder if we've seen the exact attack Gear 3 attack that broke that metal door.

i dont think so, cause i would assume the door was downed with one hit, and the luffy became small cause of it.
i guess that what hes holding back. until luffy sees an openning, he probably wont try to KO lucci with that attack.

Or, you know, Luffy has a way to end Gear Third when he wants to. It'd be stupid of him to run down the corridor with his body like that, so if he can end the gear, then why not?
It doesn't neccessarily mean that it ended because he used one big huge technique.
yea id rather see him win with some clever way more than some special held back attack.
like how luffy held lucci with his leg then attacked with rifle (the tekkai hollow wood part)
he could do the same with giant rifle (…or giant bell, from kurro....imagine a huge head comming at you)
Hehe. Yeah. Gomu Gomu no Giant Bell was the first thing to come into my head when I saw Gear 3. What an awesome sight that would be.
Yea but how and by whom was chopper saved in skypiea?.
It was those giant south birds, who saw him as a friend of the Knight of the Sky.
Onigumo, uhhhhm…..wasn't it Robin with her extending hands? Or is this a different time you guys are talking about?
They're talking about the fight at the alter where Chopper jumps in to save the knight and the southbirds dive in to save Chopper, the knight and his flying mount(name escapes me).
I would like to see Luffy do a Gomu Gomu no Gavel on a ship while in Gear 3rd and slam it into Lucci. I sincerely doubt that will happen, but it would be a sight to see.
a slam 3 gear move i think will finsh him hammer i hope
That was bloody fuckin' awesome.
Forgive me if this has been discussed.
"What's this…are you from Giant's Clan?"
~Random Marine
A possible hint to a deeper connection/relationship between Saul and Luffy?
What are the chances that Lucci will get angry at one of the VA's and kill him?
Fairly high I imagine. Or he'll go to attack one of them and get put in his place. I think that'd be a much more interesting result and a testiment to the power of the Vice Admirals

I dunno, I probably I have with that is the idea of the arc bosses being replaced so quickly. Lucci seems to be pretty up there thanks to this chapter.
I like Spandam better as the main arc villan. I know Lucci is the bigger threat and is the the main arc villan, but he just can't compete with Spandam when it comes to sheer vileness. I hate everything about the guy; he's a truly despicable character who deserves everything coming to him. Lucci's more of a blood-killer who, while evil, just doesn't seem as evil to Spandam to me. Seeing Spanda get blasted in the face is one of my favorite moments in One Piece.
Oddly enough, seeing Luffy smite Arlong and destroy AP didn't do much to sate my "evil bastards must PAY!!" appetite, but seeing Nami beat the crap outta Nezumi did. With Arlong and Lucci, Oda presents the reader with a flawed idealist zealot as villain. Both are utterly convinced of their ideals and see nothing wrong with sacrificing anyone that gets in their way. For Arlong, it was lording his "superiority" over humans. For Lucci, its finding an outlet for his bloodlust. They exist within the framework of the story to show that "evil ambitions and wicked dreams cannot prevail against the dreams and ambitions of the good." As such, they become cathartic icons. It's the jerkwads like Nezumi and Spandam, who sell out everyone when the opportunity is right, who fill me with hatred and disgust. They have not even the excuse of a dream, no matter how flawed, to justify their acts. They are merely greedy, self-serving, short-sighted, bandy-legged, gutless, spineless, lily-livered, bootlicking, megalomaniacal human-shaped puddles of raw sewage. Their ilk is seperated from the likes of Bellamy the Hyena by nothing more than the license the World Government gives to their actions. Watching such people get tortured gives my sadistic side great pleasure, especially within the confines of a work of fiction, where the threat of blood spattering on my face is small, and the pain can go on, and on, and on…and on, and on.

I only like one thing about "Spanda": His surprised faces. Other then that, i totally agree :)

Enough with the compliments: those two don't deserve them. Time to start insulting them now …
EDIT
About my sig, i just added the pic. Should it be too big, say so and i'll resize it (21.9 KB with 400 by 225).
I agree about Arlongs ambitions being defeated by Luffys in perhaps a very speciesist human superiority lesson Oda was trying to give.. not one I agree with, but hey we can't all be self hating humans. However in Luccis case.. I don't think Lucci has ever met someone like Luffy or Gol D Roger.. see characters like those accomplish miracles on a daily basis simply by force of will. I think Lucci's will to win will falter before his demise seeing that Luffy's will to save everyone has succeeded, and in that second of hesitation he'll be defeated. Lucci is human, he isn't some mindless non human species in the OP world, as a human he has the ability for good, and while I don't think he'll turn good, he'll realize the ability for good exists in the world, and that will finally be his downfall. Just like if an enemy ever played with Luffy's mind enough to make him realize there is evil in this world and that good will not always triumph (Movie 6).
