Ya-ha! The second Mario Kart tournament!

(it's worth a shot :sideways: ) In January there was a little tourney for this racing game, so why not do another one? If nobody's interested… ehh, I tried. Whoever's interested can leave a reply here containing their friend code and other info~

Here's an example of what to put (in other words, my application). The time zone is included since it'll help schedule a good time for matches.

Start of tourney: I'm thinkin' around mid-August, but the latest would be September 1st (so there's plenty of time ^o^ ).
How the tournament works: After the tournament begins, the first-round matches will be decided. We'll then have to work out what'll be a good time for each match's participants. Make sure you add their friend code! Without it, you can't race them. =P Whoever can get on AP after they're done should post the results of it. Rinse and repeat.
Racer of choice: I pretty much stole the info thing from the old thread, and didn't take it out. It would be nice if people stick with whoever they say their character is.
Skill level: Pretty much how you do in the Grand Prix mode. If you managed to get good ratings in the cups (A, one star, two stars, three stars), then that's it… I guess. I seem to have done fairly well in 150 cc (but I should probably list myself as 100 cc)
Snaking: Yes, snaking is allowed. If you don't know what it is, look it up.

Edit - 20 seconds and I'm already totally lost. Horrible with technology so… if anyone can give me a little direction it might help.

Huh? What do you mean?

After you click "Nintendo WFC settings", click "Nintendo Wi-Fi connection settings" in the big blue box, then choose one of the 3 connection boxes, choose "search for an access point" then once the point has been found, press A to run a test and then you're ready to go.

There is no access point in range no matter where I stand. And I have already disabled all firewalls.

Pretty much. Like I said before about time zones, we'll need to set up a time that works for the participants in the match. Then whoever can get on here should post the results (who won, basically), simple as that.

Well I try to take full advantage of power-slide by utilizing it as often as possible. So I guess I "snake" and, even though I can't pull off anything amazing, that's why I can't participate the tournament. I haven't played the game in six months anyway.

Well, Unless I convince my brother to pick up a usb thing I'm out. But, I'll brush up on my mario karting skills all the same. Solar, theres one thing I need to know though; Are we restricted only standard or can we use any
character with any kart.

edit - as for snakeing, rarely. Most of the time it screws me over.

Well, just finished playing. My skill would be 150cc(mirror). And turns out im not a bad snaker after all. But, if I can get the usb I won't snake. I find it takes some fun out of it, so I'll be going straight up old school mario kart(with new items).

And snaking... I only snake when I want to. By that, I mean I snake when I face someone who has an offensive emblem or anybody else who is snaking. I don't see what the fuss is all about with snaking. It's a technique in the game, and you race against others online to see who has the better racing technique, right?

And I just got back into Mario kart DS too, so this is nice timing for me. I finally got a way to dodge blue shells. Wasn't an easy road, though...

The turbo boost power slides it tells you to do in missions. People do those not only on turns that are obvious places for them but on little turns and straight aways as well.
