How did Pell survive?

Hmmmm…well Oda never kills non-flashback characters, but Pell did seem pretty dead. I beleive that Oda was trying to show that willingness to accomplish your dreams outweighs death.

It was one of Oda's biggest moments, but he decided Pell looked too cute and wanted to please the fan-girls. Thus, reviving him with the seven magic dragon-pells.XD.

The world may never know, or simply Oda just didn't want to kill off Pell…I remember someone said Oda didn't like killing off characters.

I assumed he just got blown away.

The bomb was a dud, and is just produced a large 'flash', without the explosion.
Or, a more likely explanation:
A wizard did it. Maybe it was this guy!

That or Pell's been taking cues from Naraku (that series is going nowhere)

My only guess is that after he was out of view, he let go of the bomb and continued to rise in the air has far and as fast has he could away from the bomb. But more then likely we will never really know. heh

Kahalewai, is that avatar from Saiyuki (Son Goku)? I remember reading two volumes of the manga and remember a kid named Goku.
Anywho, Oda doesn't like to kill off characters. End of story.

that's what I'd like to know, if the guy holding onto the bomb didn't die than the whole thing with them running around looking for it so they can save the city was pretty pointless.

It COULD be because Pell dropped the bomb so that it would be at a safe enoughf distance from the city and then flew high enoughf to survive. I remember someone made a calculation saying it was possible with a hawks speed.

Maybe he changed back to human form at the last second? Dunno if that proves anything but oh well.

Crocodile accidently put sherbet in the bomb instead of gunpowder. The explosion was acctually just a solar flare that happened at exactly the same time the bomb would have gone off had it not been sherbet.

My personal theory is that Pell, while flying upward, got pushed by the bomb without fatal damage, like the force of the explosion against his wings pushed his up. Then, maybe his bird form was light enough to not fatally fall on the ground. Maybe he found something soft to fall on.
I dunno, Pell probably should be dead, but I like to try and find explainations for things like this instead.

Well, the "doctor" made a misture of sulphurous ash, ginseng, garlic, spider silk, blood moss and mandrake root. He used that to revive Pell.
He had a lot of spider silk and ginseng left over, and he used that to help Pell get his strength back.
Kudos to those who understand the reference.
