I've been waiting for the PSP to come out to make this thread. Out of the six choices listed above, I would have to say the Gamecube despite the fact that it is probably last place in the so called "Console Wars". The main problem with it is that it has few console exclusives and is getting fewer and fewer third-party titles. Resident Evil 4, which was said to be the game to revive Nintendo's market, will be coming out for the PS2 later this year. If they don't get back into shape, Nintendo will go the way of Sega. The DS, while a unique system (I don't actually own one but I've played it before), seems to pale in comparison to the PSP.

So, does anyone have their thoughts on this "War"?

I find the whole war thing a bit silly. Anyway, I've a gamecube but I do play all consoles almost equal regularly and so far I've been really please with my purchase, dunno why so big hype about RE4 though. All of the concoles are good in their own way but Sony's is perhaps my least favourite. I tried DS and I find it refreshing, if I had enough spare money I would probably buy it. PSP hasn't yet really turned me on but I will spare my opinion until I get to try it someday. Honestly, now days I play a lot of less than I used to, most of the new games has just felt rehearsal of old ones. So the next generation's consolos are still a question mark for me, whether I'll ever even buy one. Nintendo's probably my favourite canditate, at least if they will keep their promise about renew gaming.

My family has the 3 major consoles, but we have very few Xbox games so that's why I don't play it that much. 'Eck, I play my NES more than the Xbox. No console is perfect, but I'm curious about the Next-Gen consoles, particularly the PS3 since I heard it has EYETOY capabilities built into the hardware.

I chose the GBA, its much better than the PSP and DS (at the moment) imo.

I still want them both though lol.

PS2. It simply has more games that I want to play.

I've got all the consoles, except the two new handhelds. So I really dont have an allegiance to any of the console manufacturers. Every console has its own unique range of software on offer, so to be a gamer & side with just one console, one company would be just so confining, you'd miss out on too much.

I couldn't see myself being anything but a multi-console owner/fanboy in the future, as long as I've got the money & the console itself has good a range of quality software and has a bright future, I'll be buying it.

Nintendo's the best. Unfortunately, they took a big hit by refusing to give up cartridges for discs, which meant they lost the chance for so many games. That's why there were basically no RPGs on the N64 that Nintendo didn't make themselves. The Gamecube is much better RPG-wise, and Nintendo makes the very best games, although PS2 still has the greatest number of good games.
I have every confidence that Nintendo will get back on top.
