Nice chapter. I must say that Kaku's fighting style have simply turned weird though strong. He really reminds me of Mr 2 (less the okama)
Oda is really teasing us with only one picture of Robin per chapter in these recent chapters. I hope Robin is saved here at Enies Lobby and the arc won't extend again.

Well, I'm surprised by two things.
- This chapter was out so early.
- Sanji beat Jyabura in about 1 and a half chapters!
However, I'm reading the chapter right now, and it looks like Franky's going to help Luffy fight Lucchi. Kaku made himself into a box for some reason, and Zoro managed to land a solid hit on Kaku using some gorilla-based attack.

Franky caught up with Luffy and Lucci who … look like they've just been talking while the walls crumbled without any assistance. I thoguth they'd look at least a little worn out by now. I really hope Franky doesn't assist Luffy in anyway goddammit. grrr -

There is a pretty solid translation in the spoiler thread. Franky is not going to help Luffy, Luffy is going to stall Lucci in order to let Franky go get Robin.

Alright, after having examined the HQ scans, it looks like Zoro really is having trouble cutting through Kaku's tekkai. sigh
So far I feel that this fight is playing out too much like the Mr. 1 fight. Mr. 1's body was made of steel. Kaku's body is as strong as steel (perhaps stronger). Zoro had trouble cutting Mr. 1's body. Zoro is having trouble cutting Kaku's body for some odd reason (perhaps it has something to do with not finding the right stance?). If it's revealed later that Zoro has to upgrade himself to something like "hearing the breath of all things" version 2.0 in order to cut Kaku, then yes, in my mind, this will have been one of the most disappointing fights in OP history.
Kaku really needs to bust out his swords and start relying on his super speed+agility or something… anything that'll make this fight feel less like the Mr. 1 fight.
BTW, thanks for the scans BF :) Really didn't expect them this early. That's just awesome.

I feel bad for Jabura, he looks almost dead. Lucci still didn't even have to transform.
I actually think this is a pretty interesting fight. Kaku uses a steel body kinda like Mr. 1, but he doesn't rely on it. He does a lot of giraffe and rankyaku moves, which I think makes him original, and definitely more dangerous than Mr. 1.

Kaku didn't even do Tekkai when Zoro whipped out his drawing technique. He didn't do it because he realized he could get cut by such an attack.
Furthermore, how in any way imagineable would whipping out swords make it any less like 1 since he was a giant sword?
On a side note, I hope Zoro doesn't get drunk using that last attack ^O^
Then again….. a drunken master swordsman? Oh man...that would be so sweet. And so not happen in OP ^O^

I was just thinking how Zoro hasn't worn his bandana in quite a while and perhaps Oda would have him fight without it, and sure enough, he finally puts it on. Love the pose of Zoro holding the two swords horizontally. That's bound to appear as an avatar or sig soon. Lots of dialogue between Kaku and Zoro so it should be a fun read once someone has time for a translation.

I quite like how this fight is turning out, actually. It appears to be Zoro's first "joke" fight ever (or at least since Hachi). I'm quite happy that Zoro didn't once again get the stereotypical badass with X number of swords or swords that can do something special. Folding up into the cube was incredible, and nose shigan, while being both pretictable and goofy, looked very painful. I'm very happy with Oda's choice of opponent for this fight, and I have to say this fight would actually probably be pretty bland if Kaku turned back into a human. However, I'll trust Oda's opinion as always.
Also, did anyone else find themselves thinking of the Popeye theme when Popeye eats spinach when Zoro pumped up his arms?

I see Franky finally caught up with Luffy and the fight with "Pidgeon Guy" (as sadistic looking as ever) has suddenly gone two-on-one. I just hope Franky isn't overstretching himself…well OK, that's Luffy's job, but he's doing so much its as if he's a SH already..or proving himself to be a SH.
And Zoro/Kaku...the "Kiringer"/"Kirin Jya" joke was probably the funniest thing I've read in the manga in a while! Not to mention that scene where Kaku gets himself into that box form..that was freaky. (not as freaky as Zoro pumping his own muscles, but freaky in a good way)

Damn! That was badass. Zoro's powerup revealed? He definately overpowered Kaku's strong neck with the Gorilla arms. The fight was very well drawn.
Sanji's fight with Jabs got the tower halfway on its way to toppling it seems. I'm kinda dissapointed though. Sanji doesn't seem to find opponents that can give him a hard time. Jyabura was to him, what Blueno was to Luffy. Though it would have done injustice to the kick had Jabs gotten up, the fight could have at least been as long as the other fights. Well no worries. Guess Kaku goes down in the next chapter then ^^

Jabura wasn't weak, Sanji just got stronger. Had he been as we knew him, he'd still be in trouble right now. Not that he didn't take damage anyway.
My guess for the arm thing is that Zoro simply put his strength into that move. Looking at that big breath, I don't think he'd have an entire arsenal like that.

I thought that was a cut at first too, but I think that's just what his nostrils look like! Maybe a lil' bit of a nosebleed there, though.
And I guess I should be able to recognize the kanji by now, but I don't see where people are saying Kaku's using Tekkai. It looks like he's been dodging or blocking every strike with his nose. It seems his nose is just that strong!

Pretty good chapter. The Kaku square made me chuckle, and I liked the exchange between Franky and Luffy.
Love the gorilla attack, and Kaku looked crazy in that last panel.

On pages 10 (middle panel) and 18, Kaku's nose took direct hits from Zoro's swords… not one cut. And the fact that Zoro was annoyed with Kaku's tekkai, prompting him to declare that he would cut Kaku's tekkai no matter what, says to me that Zoro is having trouble cutting Kaku's tekkai.
Furthermore, how in any way imagineable would whipping out swords make it any less like 1 since he was a giant sword?
Kaku using swords to parry Zoro's attacks would make it seem like Kaku has lost confidence in his tekkai. For now, since Kaku is still using his body to take on Zoro's cutting attacks, it appears like Kaku believes in the invincibility of his body, just like Mr. 1 did.
edit: alright, the spoiler translation made it look like Zoro was having trouble cutting through Kaku's tekkai. After having read Murasaki's translation, the verdict's still out on whether this is really the case, since it looks like Kaku avoided Zoro's steel cutting technique. Let this be a lesson to myself… wait for actual text translation before opening my big mouth :)

That's exactly the point. While Luffy and Zoro have fights that take them to the brink of death, Sanji just walks through his opponents with little difficulty. Add to that he had already been through one fight before Jabs, the ease at twhich he took him out with the Fire-leg resembled Blueno and Gear-2.
I'm not complaining or anything though.
