So what's going to happen. Will we be able to see the rest of Enies Lobby?
And where do they get the episodes, anyway?
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...
One Piece taken off Youtube
-
-
Oh, yeah. True, nevermind.
But yeah… At least we had the subs on YouTube for awhile. They've couldv'e erased them at any time.
At least... Due to them being there for awhile we've shown people (even if it's a few) the true version.
It sucks for people who have a slow connection... But eh... Watta ya gonna do.
-
Theres not much left…all my subscriptions videos were removed so I know everyone elses were....
youtube....feels empty....and cold....
THE ANIME~!!!! NOOOOO~!!!!!!!!!!
-
I could just crawl into a hole and die. So, where do they get the episodes?
-
Well…I was just checking bookmarks....it seems pretty hopeless.
One I'm really upset about was Ai Yori Aoshi. Thankfully I managed to see the first series. But I only saw episode 1 of Enishi...and...its gone...
Amazingly tho Eureka Seven is still up.
Lol, someone on my profile said Sailor Moon is gone. Lata Sailor Scouts. XD
-
So what's going to happen. Will we be able to see the rest of Enies Lobby?
And where do they get the episodes, anyway?Dude….don't you know about Gerusama and ADC fansubs? That's where they come from. Just look in their subforums.
-
Lol, someone on my profile said Sailor Moon is gone. Lata Sailor Scouts. XD
No!! Is there no GOD?? But seriously, although removing anime sucks royally, I'm sure the fans will find another way to spread the love through the internet, they always do.
-
@Miss:
Is there no GOD??
If there was, we'd all be dead by now. Al Kahn included.
Alright. The dubbed episodes, to my knowledge, are still up. I give this the…
Oh wait, there are still some One Piece episodes up.
-
http://www.putfile.com/ seems to be another site semilar to youtube. Not as good tho as it looks.
"25mp a file" And that is why. So much for putfile.
-
I don't know if you guys have noticed, but at least the clips of the series (not really the actual episodes but rather just scenes) are still up.
-
I just hope that Dub Piece (my dub) doesn't get pulled.
-
Seems the anime sweep on Youtube is over. Almost all the K-F and Gerusama One Piece episodes are gone. The only ones still left are the shitty HK ones and ADC.
-
I just hope that Dub Piece (my dub) doesn't get pulled.
They'll probably leave that one alone because it's satire. But if they do, I wouldn't worry too much, there are other solutions.
-
Looks like i'm the only person who's happy they removed all that stuff. It'll force the lazy people to start using BT or IRC, whatever you could find on YouTube you can find with BT and IRC.
-
But, some people's computers CANT handle downloading a whole episode. They arent "lazy". My computer can, but I really hated having to download episodes, when I can watch them whenever I want, and however many times I wanted, on Youtube, with no memory.
-
It still works for me…..the link on msn which has all the episodes in one profile linked to works....
-
For some reason, when I try to watch Movie 6, there is no picture, just sound, and it stays with "Loading…"
-
Hmm, I have that too now. Weird.
I'll try re-encoding it myself and uploading it again.
In the meantime try this. -
But, some people's computers CANT handle downloading a whole episode.
There are very few cases where people literally "can't". That would be a firewall problem, or an ancient scrap pile of a computer with hardly any space that shouldn't even be in use. Any other reason is either laziness or computer illiteracy, which is usually the result of laziness.

got like one gb on his computer OI!
Also, don't worry guys. Only the full episodes will be removed cause thats what is licensed. Clips wont, movies wont, specials wont, and parodies certaintly wont.
-
…or an ancient scrap pile of a computer with hardly any space that shouldn't even be in use.
My current problem. o.o/
Soon to be solved, though. =D
-

.1 GB? How many GB is your hard drive? Did you ever try running "disk cleanup"? I take it you don't have a burner to save your files elsewhere?
Kids, next computer you get, get a dvd burner. Not only can you fit 25 episodes of OP, you can fit all your other data on it too. They mostly come standard with new computers these days anyway. My computer is almost 5 years old.
-
My computer is a shit dell which shouldn't have been put on the market. Not to mention making it $700 was a complete rip off when its only worth like $200.
-
That doesn't answer my question though.
Specifications. CPU speed? Memory? HD space? It doesn't matter if it's a shitty Dell, most of the reasons why programs won't work is software related, not hardware related. You can't go around with only 1 GB on your HD though, that's a problem in itself. I find that most people just don't know how to take care of their computers. Like someone buying a car and they just keep driving it without ever opening the hood to lube it, replace parts, wash it. It won't keep working on its own for very long.
-
I GOT 1 GB OF SPACE CAUSE THE BASTARD BARELY CAME WITH ANY AND I DON'T GOT THE MONEY FOR AN EXTRA HARD DRIVE.
I even had to blow my entire christmas last year to buy more memory for this thing.
And if I hadn't done that, I doubt this thing would be here right now.
-
Go to My Computer, right click on your hard drive (most likely C:) and click properties, and tell me what the capacity is, and free space versus used space.
-
No. stubborn look
-
Haha, I thought so.
-
I don't need someone who has a decent computer to talk to me about mine thank you.
-
Actually, Buuhan, I would follow Cosmic's advice. My computer was complete garbage up until a couple months ago, and I thought that there was no way I'd be able to watch One Piece, but following a couple FAQs and stuff and taking a closer look helped me look through all the junk to find a skeleton of a working computer. She's just trying to help, anyway - would anything bad happened if you took the two seconds to follow her advice?
-
25 episodes?! On one disc? O_o
-
Meh, it's ok.
25 episodes?! On one disc? O_o
On a DVD-R, yes. 4.7 GB of space. It depends on the size of the files, that's the earlier episodes, it'll be less for the later episodes because they're a bit bigger.
But like I said, there really aren't so much good computers and bad computers, just poorly maintained ones, unless we're talking about a 500 Mhz Celeron CPU with less than 128 MB of RAM here.
I bought my computer for $350 at a little hole in the wall place about 5 years ago. It has a decent processor (AMD Athalon 1.24 GHz) but a lot of the other parts aren't anything special. I had to buy new memory as well. I bought a 256 MB RAM card about 6 months ago and a new power supply because the old one exploded. The hard drive had to be replaced too but fortunately that was under warrantee.
Anyway…I think all the people who are relying on youtube just don't know what they're missing, having to look at a crappy, distorted video when they could be watching a nice crisp video screen. Gerusama's subs just barely even showed up on Youtube's screen.
At least the short clips will stay up. I was still going to make some comparison videos. -

Sweet holy shizniz. Good thing I was planning to get one.
Question though: will the files actually play on DVD players, or can you only save them on there for watching on the computer (either way is still good)? But like I said, there really aren't so much good computers and bad computers, just poorly maintained ones, unless we're talking about a 500 Mhz Celeron CPU with less than 128 MB of RAM here.
Yeeeah, ours' is probably just poorly maintained. My mom tried getting more memory for it awhile and got the wrong kind. She hasn't tried getting another in awhile for some reason. o_o

Question though: will the files actually play on DVD players, or can you only save them on there for watching on the computer (either way is still good)?I've never tried it, but I don't think so unless you convert the files to a different format from avi or mp4. I know there are people here who have done that, there were some posts about it in the help section.
If you computer is running slow on startup, trying going to start - run - and type in msconfig and look and see if there are programs running at startup that aren't necessary. That might be a big tricky, and you don't want to shut down important things, but some are obvious (like itunes, any media player, or extra things that aren't necessary). If you google msconfig, you might find some info on what things you should not shut down and what you should.
Also get Spybot Search and Destroy and make sure you don't have spyware sucking the life out of it.
And run disk cleanup and disk defragment, best in safe mode.
-
bangs head on desk My computer has no problems, it runs fine and I can watch anything. The little disk space is the problem which I've delt with for years and the only solution would be to buy another hard drive. So don't lecture me please.
-
There's more to this whole thing than just Youtube trying to take away your precious-precious anime because they're just soooo mean omg the total bastards wth. I'll explain:
Part of it has to do with the fact that having so many full-length episodes seriously cramps their bandwidth, but they're also preempting for the financial disaster that could very well be on the horizon for them as a major internet hub. If you don't know about it now, you probably will soon: there's been a bill passed in the House that will pretty much act like a bottleneck to major internet businesses. Telcos (telecommunication companies) want to garner some of the profit from just how many people per day visit Google, Myspace, Amazon, Youtube, etc etc – and if this bill passes, what will happen is that each telco will require a certain fee for each ISP to host its business, and if they don't fork up then their service will get delegated to 56k speed. No internet business wants to pay this since they'll lose profit, which means we're gonna have to fork up more in the end if we want to actually even get to essential sites on the Internet.
If you don't get a word of what I just said, think of it like internet tollbooths. In the context of Youtube, in order for them to not have to pay as much to the telco for their ISP they'll definitely be cutting down on filesize and how many people can hit those files per day. So you'll probably see old-ass videos or videos that barely get any hits (say like under a thousand) disappear too.
So before you get your panties in a bunch about OMG EVIL YOUTUBE SLASHY WRISTS TIME, do your research first and don't assume it's always for one reason (I'm sure copyright is a part of this too, but the net neutrality issue is really fucking serious).
– And as for the issue of net neutrality ? It's very, very dangerously teetering on the Senate's decision (which they'll vote on sooner or later) and if they vote to pass it... we are pretty much screwed. Say goodbye to Google.
-
Well…all I have to say is. If they were gonna do this eventually, they should have made it where you couldn't upload stuff like that from the get go. It would have been alot easier and people wouldn't have got attached. However, I am grateful to YouTube for helping me see tons and tons of anime titles I never would have seen without them.
-

I wasn't talking to you. XD
And Carly….man, that is scary. I am really pissed off at most things getting passed in the senate these days. -_-
-
Hey Guys, I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but it seems that every episode of One Piece has been pulled from Youtube due to Copyright Infringement
It's sad to hear that these copyright laws are effecting even anime.
But I suppose it needed to be done, I rather them take down some episodes
of OP then YouTube disappearing completely. hehI hope my Movie 7 PV stays up. heh
Though I am sure it will. -
I wasn't talking to you. XD
And Carly….man, that is scary. I am really pissed off at most things getting passed in the senate these days. -_-
Well, with luck it won't be passed in the Senate, though it did in the House. These days though the House makes the Senate look like a Mensa convention so who knows
I'm sure as hell writing my senators about it, even if I only get a copy-paste email back from 'em.
Buuhan – Probably they didn't expect to have THAT MANY people uploading full episodes onto their servers. We do live in the world of high-speed piracy and computers with a fuckton of HD space, after all.
(Note: what the fuck are you running, Windows XP ? Defrag your hard drive like right effing now !! Even if you've got a lot of RAM in there you're practically asking for your computer to totally fail on you with just a gig of space. What would you rather do, defrag the thing overnight and clear some space up or pay $200 to salvage it in a shop ?) -
I do defrag, I do delete, I do disk clean up. You don't got my computer so don't tell me how to run it please.
-
Are we talking about computer problem or YouTube problem here? Get back on topic, please.

I didn't imagine that time that it was part of all those … things going on now o.O -
I've think I've seen a couple of HK episodes up on Youtube, so One Piece isn't entierely gone. They'll probably just upload more episodes whenever a few get removed.
-

Wouldn't that pretty much kill all Internet business in general? How the heck could that pass?
-
Lobbying interests.
-
I clicked on a few random videos and they worked… >_> It may just be those randoms though...
oceanizer, that's really weird. >_> I abbreviate United States as US without dots, too... shot
Why would the US Government get control over the internet? It's not like all sites are American... >_>
-
The bandwidth problem doesnt mean anything..
Just look at the speedruns; some of them are over 1 hour long.
Let's face it, it's just some anime hater trying to ruin everyone else fun.
-
It might be something different….I was thinking about it but maybe I am thinking too hard.
YouTube now has advertisements on NBC related to the Office and stuff, perhapes NBC wouldn't cut a deal with them until they cracked down on all the copyright infrigment. But again I'm probably just looking too deep into things.
-
Well that sucks… now it's even harder to show the dubbies what true One Piece is like now... I wonder if Al Kahn reported them... hmm...
