How do I watch MKV files? I use VideoLan, but it's not working for some reason.
I'm sad. T^T

Most would say VLC but VLC crashes alot for me. I use Media Player Classic now.
i dunno…... MPC doesn't work for me either.
I think I do use VLC Player for those. Not sure why it isn't working though.
go to troubleshooters or something, maybe you can find your solution there.
Have you tried Zoomplayer.
I use a combination of MPC and Haali's Matroska Splitter to play MKV files.
WOW. i think there may be something wrong with my computer. none of those things work. I've dl'ed countless players, tried all the settings. Are MP4's different from MKVs?
I know this is a stupid question but do you have Haali Media Splitter or Matrokosa Pack installed.
yeah, but i'm thinking of starting over from the beginning by downloading the playback pack from animesuki. so, i'll uninstall everything i have now, set up everything, and if I have any errors still, then i'll post here again. hopefully not though.
[EDIT] Yep. That did it. Lots of thanks to those who helped me out.
Ah, worse comes to pass. Backtrack.
You can download a matroska video pack for WMP that will play MKV files.
Well to answer your question, mp4 is different from mkv. They are different type of "containers".
You could try installing those "all in one stuff" like the one @ http://cccp-project.net/ though some scowl at these "all in one" packages.
