I remember, by brother, and my 2 cousins that lived on my street always played turtles in our back yards. we never got past decideing who was who though, because no one wanted to be shredder. When they had that episode with that female mutant, mona lisa, I was so estatic. Finally a girl mutant I could pretend to be.

I never saw the comics before. My home town never had a comic book store. the cartoon was so enjoyable as a kid. (not now) the movies, I still like.

Hey, anyone notice, how no one said anything about kids playing TMNT, but when power rangers came about, it was bad, cause "kids would always fight" It's true though. My little friends and I would never kick the hell out of eachother playing turtles, but I saw the young kids my mom babysat kick the hell out of eachother playing power rangers. My mom had to ban power rangers in the house, but she never said anything when we played turtles at a wee age. (I was much older when power rangers came out)

I enjoy the new cartoon now. Not interested in reruns, but the story is interesting. I like the charicters and the art style. And this version of Casey Jones has had me in tears laughing so many times. Ha ha, remember first season, entering the utron's office building, with the toaster. ha ha I wanna see that again.

I loved playing the NES games with my cousin, Bud. The first game, I saw one or 2 people who were awsome at that game, so it's not impossible, but it is hard. I think I got out of that dam stage maybe twice. After that your in this city scape, from birds eye view. You need to find the turtle van and splinter? good luck with that.

YES!!!! So glad I found this! TMNT was my childhood craze. I even had a little table that had chairs like the turtles! I wonder how much money my mom put into all the damn merchandise I bought…

TMNT was actually the first string of words I ever put together. We were on a ride home from Maine, and I was reading the comic. Suddenly, I spurted "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!" and shut up for the rest of the way, happy as a clam.

I remember Turtles in Time! My friend and I played that for so long! We'd just beaten co-op mode, and we come out from the basement and realize we had played for 5 hours straight! Scary...I also have a handheld Turtle's game (made by Tiger or something) that is so great. I play it religiously.

Also, the 2nd movie was always my fav. Why? Shredder's line of, "BABIES!!!! THEY ARE BABIES!!!!" It tickles me in all the right places. And about Tohka and Razar, they were supposed to be Rocksteady and Bebop, but the creators didn't like that, so they had to create new mutants.

Hey, I know I still enjoy the old cartoons. Watched some just the other day.

i loved him as well having a serious and historicly correct Samurai story starring cute little animal Samurais was a fricking brilliant idea^^.

hehe i also used to play Turtles tho i always wanted to be that Whack job(whose name escapes me at the moment) who beat people up using sport equipment whilst making terrible jokes/puns (he was fricking awesome) or one of the Foot soldier (cause i found them to be insanly cool) rather than any of the Turtles.

Casey Jones?

I Loved playing turtles in the back yard and all over the streets right on dusk… it would get darker which meant more possiblities for injuries. I was always Mikey and my bad jokes haven't changed.

I think he's my second favorite character the whole series. They turned him into a moron in the 80's cartoon though.

Declining ratings, pure and simple. 4Kids wants to get kids back to watching the show (well what do you expect when most of their focus as of late has been on the "girls side" of their lineup), so they're "lightening it up" with this Fast Forward thing.

Personally, I'm a TMNT fan in a couple ways. I was a fan of both the cartoon and Archie's TMNT Adventures comics as a kid (even had a few of the Mirage books, particularly this weird multi-parter where this little girl changes history and Splinter helps some rat hero) and I liked the 2003 revamp through what I've seen (was able to see all of the first three seasons and part of the fourth until I lost track of it…not to mention had not been impressed by the loss of direction post-"Exodus"). Definately takes me back...

BTW: With as much everyone makes a big deal of April from the original show, leave it to me to remember Lisa and Ninjara (the fox kunoichi from TMNT Adventures) more...heck, even Irma was more interesting!

I was a huge TMNT fan back when I was a kid. Of course it all stems from the cartoon since I was never into comic books back then and you couldn't find the indie comics at regular stores. I own some VHS tapes of the show and all three films and a DVD of the first film and the first season which pretty much had the best episodes of the entire series.

I remember back when the turtles were really big they actually had a concert at Radio City Music Hall called "Coming out of their Shells". I had a tape of all the songs that were being given away at Pizza Hut which broke and a terribly corny behind the stage video.

As for the video games the first arcade was by far one of my favorites and I own pretty much all the console games excluding Hyper Stone Heist and the third Game Boy game. There was also a green LCD game that I really wanted to have but never found it.

Recently, Dan Berger, TMNT writer, and correspondent to the fanbase, confirmed that Peter Laird and his staff had been working hard on an alternative fifth season for the show that would have resolved the "Ninja Tribunial" storyline introduced in the season four finale, producing thirteen episodes in total, but it was shelved in favor of the "Fast Forward" concept for the following season. The "Lost season" has been confirmed for a release on DVD in the near future.

In the upcoming fifth season of the series, the storyline will leap 99 years into the future under the subtitle Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward. According to a Playmates Toys press release: "Brought to the future by Cody Jones, the grandson of Casey Jones (TMNT) and April O’Neil, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael are forced to adapt to a whole new world – without their home, junk food or Shredder… The lighter and funnier-than-ever series... is set to bow 26 stand alone episodes in September 2006 on 4KidsTV.. OMG i want to kill them, i hate it when they turn a show that was fun and a had lot's of dark and sad moment's(I was so sad when that triceraton sacrificed himself to save the turtles) and long story arcs into a "funnier than ever show" and it will have stand alone episodes, i hate with shows that have just stand alone episode.

Just started watching the 2003 series and i gotta say one thing and that is that i was shocked to see that it was implied on a kids show that Shredder actualy clawed out Stockmans eye for failing him,

i mean damn! back in the good old days (aka the 80s) the villans would always threathen their subordinates but never actualy did anything to them(i really cant picture the 80s shredder ever mutilating any of his flunkies for failing him) things sure are diffrent today its all darker and more violent.

not that i mind that much but it sure has changed since i was a kidfeels really old

Yeah man, just wait until you hit the Seasons 2-4, you will feel real bad for Baxter by the end of Season 4 trust me. The good thing is Hun on the Run is finally is out on dvd. I thought that was the best episode of Season 3 in my opinion.

As said in One Piece of crap, TMNT is the only good thing 4kids did, save the original pokemon. At first I didnt like it, cause I only knew the movies and the TV show.
Then I found an old comic book I had of TMNT.
It was good. Shredder is great in this show, and they have a joke of Stockman loosing more limbs then a Star Wars movie nearly every episode he's in. MUCH cooler then a fly.
Edit- Does anyone remember that TMNT play thing dealing with Shredder and Stockman tryingto release Krang from Dimension X. It was Turtles on Tour or something.

Yes, yes. I grew up watching the old school cartoon. While cheesy and corny as all hell (you can even find some of the old episodes on YouTube), it was my favourite show as a kid. I would refuse to go to school until I watched the morning's episode (unforunately, I had no choice T.T)

From the old school series, I still have a one-litre tall Leo cup and a Mikey action figure. I used to own a white shirt with the guys on it as well.

I watched one of the old episodes on YouTube a while back. Now that I look at it, seeing Leo yell out "Turtle Power!" scares the crap out of me since I'm so used to the new series.

I can't wait for the 2007 movie. Unless of course, like the others it's going to be Leo-centric (movie I was Raph, movie II was Donnie and movie III was slightly Mikey-centric). is not a Leo fan, is a Don fan But I'll go and see it anyway ^^

Since I don't think I mentioned it before, I was always the Michelangelo fangirl. XD I liked him almost as much as I do Usopp now. I really liked both Raphael and Donatello in the original comic. I never cared much for Leonardo in any version.

I used to be a Mikey fangirl too, but I converted to Don-ism thanks to the new series. I think it's because I understand more of what he's talking about now.

I was a fan of Michelangelo but Donatello was always my first choice in any of the video games since he could attack from further away. I had a bunch of toys as well but I have absolutely none left. My brother actually managed to get all four turtles from the original Playmates line at a toy store some years ago still in their packages.

Yeah, the serious, stoic types rarely interest me…except for Vampire Hunter D....somehow that guy is just really awesome. I like Don a lot more in the new series...he's sort of crossed between the comic Don and the old cartoon Don. Don in the comic was more of a clever handy man rather than a super genius. But I was so stoked when they did that episode about Jack Kirby, when they went into the dimension of characters he created. That was page by page comic, it was amazing.

I liked Michelangelo in the old cartoon back then...he's a little over the top to my ears now. I prefer completely non-surfer Mikey though. XD

Yeah, the girly scream is great. They definately have much better dialogue writers than they do for One Piece, because usually the jokes they make in Turtles actually makes me laugh. One of the funniest things I saw was when they spoofed Han Solo and Chewbacca in the Fugitoid arc, when they're like, hey, I found a pilot - cut to two characters who obviously are meant to spoof Han and Chewie. - pan back to the turtles…"we can do better." XD

someone menchioned Loe being like Zoro. I find that funny. Leo is my favorite turtle, but Zoro is my least favorite strawhat. (i like all the turtles/strawhats, just more than others) I think it's because they develop Leo's charicter. I can get inside his head. I feel for him. The only time I "felt" for Zoro, was his Kuina flash back

I'm not a hot head like raph, I'm not a dopey goof off like mike, I'm not really smart like Don, but I am compasionate, and thoughtful of others, like Leo. Plus he carries my favorite colors, and is chums with Usagi.

Hey, Question: not knowing Japanese well; is Usagi a boy or girl name. Sailor moon's name is Usagi as well. (it is, isn't it, or am i getting confused)

Usagi is merely a word that stands for "rabbit", so it more depends on the context. In the context of "Miyamoto Usagi", it is his name because he is the main rabbit character of the world. As for "Tsukino Usagi", there its more both a context to her lunar heritage (the "rabbit on the moon" legend) and more like the one of the dub names: "Bunny".

As for favorite turtle…well back in the old show, I guess I was 50/50 Mikey/Don. I was somewhat of a wild man like Mikey, but at the same time I was also a fan of the smart aspect of Don. Now...Don is still one of my favorites, but I sympathize a bit more with this version of Raph and his "one step close to the edge" and bashing some of the stupid stuff Mikey says. (like his constant joke over Mikey's "Cowabunga" yell) I'm not a fan, though, over some of Raph's hot-headedness...but at least its better than...well, whatever he was in the old series.

Man, movie 3 owned my suol when I was little. Bigass turtles fighting samurais in Feudal Japan? What's not to love? Sure, Shredder wasn't there but you just can't beat Donatello saying "Dung is used as a fuel source…"

As for the new film, I'm hoping for the best, lord knows it needs to be revived.

Well my favorite turtle would be Leo, but he does get on nerves sometimes, because he is in very little comedy situations. Although i laughed my head off at the part when the turtles are in the utrom virtuale reality and Leo through his meditation or something bend's reality and then Don goes "Introducing my friend Neo, i mean Leo" that was so funny… o man.

my fav turtle is and always has been Mikey because i always liked the funny guys and as far as jokes goes hes gotten even better in the new series quotes like "dude did shredder one day wake up and go all like heres an idea gigant mutant clones of myself real ugly ones! delivered with a great shredder imitation voice just cracks me up XD.

but the angry and tormented 2003 Raph is growing on me who would have known that a char i never gave two craps about in the old series would rock my world in the new one.

also i cant help but feeling bad for stockman how come he always punished him and never Hun ?
