Does anyone know reasons why late mail/package delivery happens sometimes? I bought a book and it was two weeks late (which was fine, I'm in no rush and I got it today) but I was just wondering if it was in like limbo or severely backlogged or lost or whatever??
Like reducing the filesize of images that you upload? Or reducing the file size of images in your browser so pages load faster?
if your getting it from another country, they tend to hold packages at the boarder. When I order stuff from the USA, it takes an extra week. My Korean roomate got a package from home and it took extra long because it was sent over Christmas, and then they were taking a while to inspect it before sending to him.
Sometimes things get lost in the mail. I always give my parents heck for not insuring packages.
Sometimes the postal service is just dumb, and your package gets misplaced and takes a bit longer than it should.
And last week, I had to e-mail an online t-shirt company to ask where my shirt was. They had to re-print all the shirts so it took an extra week. Just got it yesterday. 3 weeks longer than usual.
Just be patient. Most likely it's coming. Rarely happens that it gets completely lost.

Thanks. Both of my things that are late are to and from within the continental U.S so I was just wondering what the hell happened. But one came yesterday so I feel a bit better. :)

Something strange is happening with videos embedded in Firefox.
If I close the tab, I can still hear the audio playing. Works if I close ads, close YouTube videos, or flash plugin videos from other websites.
This computer hasn't been shut down in four weeks…so I don't understand why this is happening now.

The forum just went back in time.
Edit: I see now.

I've got a 4th generation iPod nano, and the Apple online guide tells me that I can turn the cover flow off by going to Settings > General > Rotate > Off. However, when I make it to General, there's no 'Rotate' option listed (and it doesn't literally mean rotate the iPod, I tried that). Any ideas on what to do?

Can people in Australia watch funimation's youtube channel? Like Sengoku Basara: http://www.youtube.com/show?p=-Xye-gku9jA&s=1
I'm in the U.S and I have no idea how to check what/if other countries can watch it. So I can recommend it to a friend.
-
I haven't been able to come in contact with someone, and there's no way to check except to have an Australian IP. I'd say ask your friend if he/she can see it, then make the recommendation. =3=

Alright thanks. :)

How do I disable anti-alias on MS Paint for Windows 7?

How do I disable anti-alias on MS Paint for Windows 7?
They intentionally removed that function after it had been there in the 7 Paint. The only way to get it back is to get the old paint back. I did not try this out myself, no guarantees http://www.askvg.com/how-to-get-the-good-old-ms-paint-without-ribbons-working-in-windows-7/

Someone try to get on this website and tell me if it's working or not.

it doesn't seem to be working for me.

Damn, I'm trying to make some ringtones and I can't export as MP3 without a file from there.

Are you going to get banned because of infractions?
-
They're not a solid ban machine or anything. They're rather subjective. If you rack up infraction after infraction you're going to get banned. I think the "official" number is 5. But it's always taken with a grain of salt.

I want to know how to make gif image from video with same width and high like following pics.

It may be a strange question, but…
I'm not a native English speaker as you might have noticed already. According to my teacher there's not much grammar left, so soon I'll finish studying English at school. However I want to learn more, mostly because I like writing.
I'm looking for books that help me to learn how to write novels, short stories etc. I don't mean educational books, just normal ones.
In conclusion I just want some good novels to read.
So could you recommend me some(mostly fantasy)? -
I'd say that Tolkein (Hobbit and Lord of the Rings) is the de facto English fantasy author. I haven't read any of them besides a little of the Hobbit but it gets a little heavy, at least to me. Terry Pratchett is another really good fantasy author and he throws comedy in with it. Those are the only two that come to mind right now.
-
HAve you read Harry Potter? That's more or less fantasy. Even has dragons, lol, and it's well written.
Percy Jackson series is good. Chronicles of Narnia is considered a classic.
Have you tried doing a search on Amazon?

I've already read HP in my own language so it's kind of out of the question. But I'll check out the other two.
Thank you!

I've heard of Terry Pratchett somewhere before. I guess I'll try him too.
And thank you too!

So, I've been thinking about soundproofing my room. The walls are paper thin in my house, due to my parents getting screwed over by a bad contractor during working on the house. I literally can't speak over a whisper in my room without the rest of the house hearing, and it's a small house too.
I've been thinking of doing some youtube rants, or something of the such, but I can't record at all because my parents get pissed, and I have no time in the house alone to record.
So any tips on cheaply sound proofing a room?

Not if you want to make it good. The problem with sound is that even a small crack under the door makes it slip through

Are there any free video editing softwares out there?

Windows Movie Maker, best program ever  (sarc)
I'm afraid if you want something good, you're gonna have to pay, but if you look on YouTube there are lots of tutorials how to acquire such programs… the pirate way. You didn't get this from me. :ninja: -
AVIDemux is fairly good but I didn't feel like figuring out how it worked.

Can I use Audacity to tell if something is 'write protected' or not?
I've been using Sound Effects to complete the final touches on my video, but it won't export the song as a Wav (it asks if the disk is full or if something is write protected).
Basically, I need to find the problem sound effect(s). -
iMovie (for Mac) and Windows Movie Maker (for PC) tend to come with the computer nowadays.

Basically, I need to find the problem sound effect(s).Kind of confused. Is "Sound Effects" a software? Are you trying to export the audio from your video… or the entire video with the audio? What are you editing in?
I guess I can't really picture what your doing from what you've said. And I don't see how Audacity figures into anything.

Sorry, I'll clarify:
I'm using Audacity to mix together some sounds into one file and then exporting it into a Wav file.
The thing is, at first, the first portion of the video I could export, but somewhere along the line (when I added the sound effects), it couldn't export anymore because something was Write Protected.
I got all these sound effects online, btw. Some from Sound Bible, Royalty Free Music and Youtube2MP3 (I don't think those are the problem). I'm thinking that at least one of the sounds can't be messed with (or something).
Hope that helps. -
Okay that makes more sense.
Hmm… I don't know much about free, downloaded music being write protected but I'd go throw and delete/disable clips one by one until it lets you. Then you'll know what clip is giving you trouble. If there's any MUSIC that might be it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.. maybe fire fist will know.
-
Thanks, that did help.
It turned out that it was the 'Pacman' sound effect.
Thankfully, I replaced that easily. -
Good, good. :)
-
Does anyone know why when I import a video to Windows Movie Maker there is never picture and just sound, the files are avi. so that's not the problem. Thanks
-
Sounds like your WMM is outdated. Are you using XP, Vista, or 7? You'll need to update your codecs. Depending on which you have, do a google search for something like "Windows Movie Maker (version of Windows) codecs."

dont think so, considering how AGOG was able to post tons of complete non-sense.

I asked some of the other mods, and the concensus thus far, without hearing from an admin, is that it is at the least, but probably more than, 50k characters, but probably not more than 65k. Hope that is enough of an answer for the moment, PM.
-
lol, AGOG. I think JERK's posts are possibly more than his, though (just without the nonsense). Thanks for the info. I doubt I'll ever hit that limit if there was one, I was just curious. … What's "k" stand for again, Mamabeard? ^__^''

k=1,000
so 50,000 or 65,000
-
people also sometimes say 'k' instead of 'ok'
-
Yup that's true, they do, enel, but in this case, and usually when people use numbers followed by a "k," Fire Fist is right–it means 1000. (People often use it to discuss yearly salaries--e.g "I make 50k a year.") Sorry I was unclear PM.

That is a lie. Because the above post is already 129647 words (that's 21 chapters of David Copperfield) and I haven't seen the limit yet.
