Well it's almost here! This should be a great movie, especially since it will retcon III and IV.
The big question- how will Smallville affect this movie? Considering the trailer, it will show Supermans childhood. Will any elements of Smallville be added?

I kinda find it funny how all the other super hero movie characters have had their look enhanced while Superman still looks like a guy in tights.
I think I'll go see it.

I personally hate superman, he is one of the lamest characters out of the comicbook reality. He was the original superhero so lets make him have every superpower made.
The movie looks ok for the cgi graphics, but my main question is that the main tagline for the movie is, "he returns after being gone for awhile."
What the hell? Why did he leave in the first place, just because or does the movie actually explain why. Hopefully it does, but it doesn't take almost half of the movie to explain.

There is a comicbook filling the gap between II and Returns.
He originally had every power ever. Now is limited too invulenerability, strength, x-ray and heat vision, and flight. -
What the hell? Why did he leave in the first place, just because or does the movie actually explain why. Hopefully it does, but it doesn't take almost half of the movie to explain.
I believe it's because it's not a franchise re-boot, it's an actual sequel to Superman IV. I suppose he left at the end of that movie. And now he's back for this one.

Actually, I think that honor has to go to Laurence Olivier for his role in Sky Captain, entirely composed of archival footage. (He died in 1989.)

I want to see it, just to see Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. Lex is a great villain, and I want to take the character seriously in a movie for once.

And how does it make them look gay? And just to put this out there. No matter what people say, Batman IS NOT a super hero. Hes hardly even a hero.
Anyway, I've never been a huge fan of super man. But I'm starting to get into superheros again. Who knows, this movie may even be able to turn me into a big superman fan.

Batman is THE best hero since the old westerns.
But Superman was the founder of all the DC, Marvel, and any other superhero ever. Sure Superman may be invincible and he may be a dick (superdickery) but hes still the Man of Steel. And who are the two best portrayers? Why Tim Daly and Chris Reeve. -

Well, he's definitely an extraordinary guy, so I think he could be considered a superhero. His heroic deeds also seem to outweigh any of his less heroic moments.

ok first off, Batman is a hero not a superhero!
Super in combined with the word hero implies that a person has super abilities and uses those abilities to save and protect people. Batman uses his brain and gadets to help people and stop crime.
Plus Superman had all the original powers thought up. I think that at one time he could bring people back to life. I do agree that without Superman there would be no Marvel or DC, hell alot of cartoons/animes/movies should thank Superman for the original guy fights evil saves girl plotline.

I will be seeing this movie dispite not being Superman's biggest fan. I always try and see comic to film adaptations. Superman, for me, just doesn't seem like a good character. He goes around beats ten ****s out of people, succombs to his one weakness and then gets someone to help him out from that before he goes around and beats people up. Just all seems all samey as far as characters and plot lines go. I know there are alot of comics and charatcers like that but Superman just sticks out worse then the rest.

Superman is great. The first film was a classic but then idiotic Warner Brothers had to fuck up II…there was so much potential with that one.
I'm glad Singer is ignoring the disasters that were III and IV though. I'm really looking forward to Returns, it looks much more like the first film where it was less campy than its sequels.

He conquered the world. Sure there were some questionable things (selafane S) but it was a great movie.

That's what hollywood is doing right now, instead of coming up with original ideas they are just turning books, comics, tv and games into films I can't remember the last time I saw a film at the cinema that was original, the last film I saw was Poseidon and that was a remake.
Hollywood sucks right now.
