O_O
They're having a dispute over diapers and shorts. DIAPERS AND SHORTS. That's pretty… odd.
... Yes, that last quote could be read in a very different light.
That's pretty funny, especially the last sentence. I know I wouldn't like to be almost naked, what if it slipped? :o
Haha that is strange to read out of context… ^_^;; I guess it is weird to see sumo-wrestlers in mawashi ........ but it's just the traditional thing to do i guess lol.
I can kind of understand where they're coming from. Actually I think shorts might kind of inhibit the wrestling since you can grab onto them; football players have sort of the same problem. Mawashi rarely fall off anyway and besides, if you're as heavy as a sumo, I almost think the last thing you should be worried about is your modesty
They do allow female sumo to wear appropriate clothing though (but they still have to wear the mawashi anyway)…

But what if they have really tight ones?
Really tight WHAT? O_o
Shorts.
You can still grab onto them.
I really don't see why they should change it, though… it wouldn't be sumo without the mawashis. Just as long as Heihachi doesn't wear one anymore..
Female sumos? Blargh.

Actually, female sumo stay reasonably low-weight. It's not like they're Elle MacPherson or anything, but they don't pack in the chankonabe like male sumo do. Examples…
Ah, cool.
shorts
i rest my case
Oo wedgie that's bad.
ouch that should hurt
However, the move has been blocked by Japan's professional sumo association, Nihon Sumo Kyokai.
JAPANESE CHURCH OF SUMO!!!!???????
…and I never would have known what that meant.
I wrestle in a singlet. So many kids here in the states don't wrestle because they don't want to wear a singlet. This country has the most self-conscious bunch of pussies ever. Now it's spreading to the japanese children.
Who cares if you're naked? If you're not gay than what does it matter?
Olympic athletes in ancient Greece sported completely in the nude.
Thank you. Even if you're not a crazy flaunter (like me), stop being so self conscious. Why be so worried? People who watch the sport don't really come to see half naked fat guys.
Haha, "big" people are considered a sexual delicacy in Japan. Why do you think so many older women in the stands at Sumo Tournaments use binoculars? They're checking out which young "stud" has the tighest mawashi.
That's….probably the nastiest thing I've heard in months.

"The More You Know!"
