I found these lists at manganews.net
I think OP should've surpassed Slam Dunk's sales after volume 41.

Isn't Jojo's Bizarre Adventure over 80 volumes now?
I'm glad to see Hunter x Hunter and Shaman King are amoung the all time best selling series.
Kochikome….145 volumes!? And ongoing!? Damn!
One Piece and naruto are really close!
but dragon ball still tops them all!
hopefully one piece will!
@CC:

Uh, OP has about twice as many circulated. Which impresses me, because Naruto and Dragon Ball are signifigantly bigger in the US.
What is this Kochikame?
ANN's it
A military manga? And it started in 1976 and still going?!?!?!
It's actually a story about police officiers and as to why it's still going on don't know.
Jeez. 145 volumes? And it's been going on for thirty years? It must be pretty damn popular to beat out our One Piece. Still though, I'm surprised Naruto's so low (as it's fanbase is huge), but I think that's where it should be.
And yes, I thought Jojo was over 80 volumes now. It's really freaking long.
I forgot how popular Slam Dunk was. How tragic.
It's interesting how you see both approaches to success on the list. OP has made its way to near the top on 40 volumes of huge sales, but the presently-serialised leader has apparently never sold more than 350,000 copies, but cranks out so many books it doesn't matter.
The other oddity: For no listed series is volume 1 the biggest seller. I'd expect it would have been, as people either sample a series they don't know by starting at book 1, or try and start at the beginning so they can understand the characters better in a series that's running.
I like how it says that Eyeshield has only 16 volumes out, yet volume 17 is the current biggest seller in the series. But still, its nice to see how some manga is doing.
Ha! One Piece beats Naruto by a landslide, how fitting.
I'm also please that one of my current favorites, D.Gray-Man, is so high in the rankings despite still being somewhat new (only 7 volumes).
Just to answer demon days,
I think SJ separated Jojo into series 1-5 which are the 63 volumes listed and into Stone Ocean (series 6, which i have always seen as listed as a separate numbering from the jojo series) which is volumes 64-80. Steel Ball run (jojo series 7) is currently 7 volumes long and ongoing.
I love Slam Dunk and am glad the japanese people recognize its greatness.
Dudes, Slam Dunk is massive in Japan. As far as Tokyo Joe Schmo is concerned, basketball did not exist before Slam Dunk.
@gilrules2000:
I love Slam Dunk and am glad the japanese people recognize its greatness.
this is quite the backwards statement… it should be "i love slam dunk and am glad that some of you americans recognize it's greatness." the japanese recognized the greatness long before you even heard of it.
ooshi78
what you say is true but no one in america buys any comics in amounts like that. I was merely saying that they are the opinions that matter in this matter.
Wait, is Kochikame the one with the guy with the unibrow (from JSS)?
And if it's that old, it makes sense it would out beat everyone else. You give something like OP that much time and it could outdo it.
Yea, thats it. Atleast thats what I've figured from the images I've seen.
It just isnt that popular. One Piece is a dragon ball sized thing in japan and dragon ball ruled there. You cant beat that no matter how long you go.
the best part of that list is it has
HxH in the on-going one
TOGASHI LIVES!!!!!!!
Nice! I think I might make a blog about this. ^^
