Luffy using gear in fight?

I re-read the latest chapters and something caught my eye.

The fight betwen Luffy and Lucci is quite intresting because none of them are using any "special" attacks and they both seem to be equal. But if Luffy was able to keep up with blueno in his normal state how can he then possibly be keeping up with lucci which is if i remember right about 4 times stronger then blueno.

Is it possible that luffy is using his gear or is luffy fighting on his normal state and lucci is just fooling around with him??

Luffy seemed to me to be easily overmatching Blueno in his normal state, he just went Gear 2 to (a) test it out, (b) get the fight done faster so he could get to Robin faster and show off.

I'm not at all suprised that he's matching Lucchi in his normal state now at all, and would be quite suprised if he's pushed terribly hard (Crocodile hard) to beat his leopard form while in Gear 2/3.

I havn't read the latest chapter yet, but I don't think so. t was never stated that Lucchi was 4 times more powerful than blueno, just that he had more Douricki.

If you read Chapter 410 you will find some scenes when luffy is fighting lucci with some fierce punches and throws but if you look close luffy seems a little bit tired or maybe angry and lucci is just enyoing the fight for the moment not looking botherd at all.

**I just got up to date with the chapters and I think I am right. Neither seems to be trying very hard. Luffy doesn't even look like he is really trying to fight lucchi but trying to get to the door. And to me it looks like Lucchi is enjoying figting, and quwnching his thirst for blood. I don't think lucchi will getserious until luffy does and luffy won't go all out on luffy until he knows robin is safe.

At least thats my take on it.**

Luffy is probably slightly annoyed that Lucchi is blocking the doorway so that he can't get through to Robin. It'll take the knowledge that someone else is taking care of saving her before he to relaxes into the fight like Lucchi has.

Exactly. And I don't think Luffy has enoughf time to go gear nayway, with lucchi blocking his way.

Well someone is going to come very soon since 3 of the cp9 members has already been defeated and two keys has been recovered and it should soon be robins turn to take revenge on spadam.

I think Franky will try to get trough, and then Luchi will try and attack him. And then is when Luffy will go all out.
