I was watching One Piece again from the beginning and when a watched the sea monster bite Shank's hand I though to myself what if Franky joins and when finally Luffy meets Shanks to give him back his hat what if as a way to say sorry Luffy tells Franky to create an arm for Shanks, like the one he has?
What do you guys think?

Well that's true but still I know this is wired but don't you think Luffy is living in guilt ( I cant imagine that but hey Luffy is human)

Franky might offer to do such a thing, but Shanks doesn't seem like the type of guy to accept it. And I doubt that Luffy would think up something like that - he'll be too ecstatic about even seeing Shanks again.

And he's a pwnsome swordsman even with only one arm, One Piece doesn't need another over-powered swordsman. As others have said, Franky might offer it, but Shanks wouldn't accept it.

If Shanks cares that much about it he would probably have gotten himself a wood-arm or something like that. Just like pirates who lose hands have hook, or those who lost a leg have a wood-leg.
No matter what you give to him the real arm is gone and you can´t replace that with whatever gadget Franky or anyone else might come up with. And I take Shanks to be that kind of man to accept it.

If it happened, there'd have to be some powerful set of circumstances to make Shanks accept that sort of offer.

I like the idea, it's not above Oda to not reuse ideas. I think if he did do it, it would be a resolution type of deal where Shanks' renewed ability as a swordsman wouldn't interfere with the SH (ie Zoro has already surpassed him and Mihawk, Luffy is already stronger than them) so it would just be a nice jesture to an older fella that needs an extra arm to hold his beer and his ladies :)

You know, I've been thinking: Maybe Shanks does have a false arm already. We've never seen under that cloak, have we? He could easily just hide it under there so people don't see it. I doubt that this is the case - in fact, it might well cheapen Shanks's character. However, this IS Oda we're talking about - never disregard anything.

What do you guys think?Good theory but multiple flaws.
-Shanks lost his arm for a friend, to replace that arm would be like losing a friend.
-Shanks is still fully active without his arm, so he probably doesn't care to get a new one.
My question(s) regarding Shanks is/are,
-In the One Piece video games he is a great swordsmen, so was he originally, before his arm was ripped off?
-Is Shanks going after One Piece as well or just having fun being pirates?
-What is the connection that the big pirate crews keep refering too? Whitebeard was involved because Rockstar went to discuss important matters with him. SO what ever became of those discussions?

This is one of the most interesting threads I've seen.
I doubt Shanks would accept the offer. I like him with only one arm, and I'd hate for him to get a new one. It would just ruin the character.

I don't think Shanks would want tha. It wouldn't make him any stronger or help him in any way. I doubt franky would have done it to himself. if he just lost a hand when he got run over by puffing tom.**

I think we all know what Shanks really needs…. Berserker Armor. =) Get any fake arm moving again.
