Also the doctor may not be in the episode at all 45 minutes of Saxon killing people and blowing stuff up
Doctor Who
-
-
I seriously doubt that lol. It's probably to keep the kiddies like 'oh noes! The Doctor is doooooomed!' since he wasn't in the next time trailer lol.
-
Chan why is there always a load of topics on AP that I don't see for ages tho?
Chan anyway, I accidentally walked out of the room right before the 'next week' preview thing came on, and missed it, so I may as well just keep it all a secret from myself tho. Chan although I've already seen the politics voting thing tho.
-
you missed the next time thing eh…...
try clicking on my sig... =3
-
Hmm….going by the fear factor hints on the official site....
! Would they really bring back Harriet jones just to off her and cybermen and familar faces other than marthas family and harriet?!?
-
Yea, it mentions Cybermen, although I think it may be more of a reference to Doomsday myself. At least I hope so lol. Also looks like Krillitaines are mentioned too, and from what I gathered…Sarah Jane?
Also looks like Saxon has a wifey lol
-
Yeah laughed at that the future pm gets himself a trophy wife
-
haha, looks like there'll also be a car chase at one point too.
-
'So here it comes, the sound of drums. Here come the drums, here come the drums!'
I'll never be able to hear that song again in the same way….
[Gallifrey! explanations! people dying explosions!
How good was that episode
-
I loved this ep. I like the humorous/insane spin on the character. Nice new angle for him that hopefully will be well used in the future. Also, hurray for finally seeing Gallifrey. At times I feel the new series doesn't really fit in with the old. It took two seasons and Christmas specials before the Doctor FINALLY refereed to the planet by name, so seeing the planet's surface and classic clothing was a wonderful way to reassure me that it is indeed connected to the old series. I also loved Martha's comment about the Master being the Doctor's "evil brother". For those who don't know, there was a planned plotline with Roger Delgado where they planned to reveal that the Master and Doctor are brothers (and was also going to be the last story with the Master as he was meant to give his life saving the Doctor in it). Sadly Roger died in an accident before it was done. So Martha's comment was a wonderful nod/spoof to this scrapped plotline. I also like how the Master mentioned his revival. Helps bridge the gap between the movie and the new series. I also wonder if perhaps the new Master is only on his second life, not that I want John to leave. I'd be pissed if he's killed off in the next episode as he's a great spin on the character.

Yeah I thought that too
-
The problem with John Simm tho, is that he's a pretty popular guy, although he did state that he loved playing the Master, I dunno how easy it would be to have him return a couple of times.
-
GASP! What excellence! So much awesomeness <3 Spoilerd for MAJOR Doctor Who spoilers
! Well, last in the series (boo!) but also better than Doomsday and Parting of Ways put together.
! Martha left at the end too ;-; and she weren't really in for very long either, I was pretty bummed about that.
! Oh! Omni! OMNI! Remember when I joked about Jack being the Face of Boe…...weeeeeeeeeeeelll......ok, I lied, Jack IS the Face of Boe.
! The Master died ;-; but looks like his wife picked up his ring (which was laughing, dun dun DUUUN)
! and the Titanic! Crashing into the TARDIS! XD Annoyingly enough I had already wrote half a Robin Who story where her and Chopper go on the Titanic with an 'unwanted piece of cargo'. Oh well, excellent cliffhanger.
! And the Toclafane being the futurekind! Wowzer! I was expecting something silly like them being Time Lords.
! And so much references, especially to the Axons, from the arc 'The Claws of Axos' which in fact was the VERY first Doctor Who story I had ever seen, so weeee squee
! I'm sure I could go on for hours longer, but this was just the most excellent episode I have seen. -
That…was...FANTASTIC!!!
loved it the way through
! Jack being Boe surprised me the most!
! In away it kind of makes sense, but I'm still trying to figure something’s out with him
! Like how could Jack of become just a head? I big head in fact!
The Face of Boe was telepathic, where’d Jack get that from?
Jack’s already aged more than one hundred years, why didn’t he age then?
Why did the Face of Boe die in the end when Jack is imortal (or does that not count for old age?)
! And the list goes on…lol -
Chan more to the point, how did Jack become a different species tho? Chan how did he give birth to Boelets tho?
-
Maybe it'll be explained in Torchwood? I remember somewhere RTD saying that more will be explained in Torchwood series 2.
-
! Toclafane being the futurekind…not quite the Toclafane were the last humans sent to utopia....but All I want to know is could Sally sparrow be a new companion there is a lot of people who want this to happen
-
I doubt Sally would be a companion, her story was nicely tied up in the end, the same goes for Elton Pope.
Maybe the next companion would be a guy (hopefully not tho) we aint had a NEW companion since series one, in which we had three (I'm counting Mickey as series 1 since he was introduced then)
-
OMG! Remembering back, they sort of gave a hint with the pregnancy thing
Because in Torchwood, first episode, he said something like "At least I won't get pregnant…don't wanna go through that again"
This gave the hint he CAN get pregnant
-
Well we know that he isn't human in the first place so… more than likely the male can go through pregnancy. Although it seems that its more of a self thing. (we see the Face of Boe in his Tank on one ep and it says 'Is pregnant')
-
I was reading the Wiki entry on the Face last night and it pointed out how the Doctor changed to that Gollum look alike when aged to 900 years, so perhaps humans or at least humans from Jack's time period may change (evolve?) in a simular fashion.
It's a shame John left. I realise it's unlikely he could return for x stories but I would have liked to see him hang around for a bit longer. While I did like his death scene, I do hate how he (along with the Daleks and Cybermen) keep getting "killed" off, only to be brought back in some kind of semi-retcon fashion, i.e.
"This is the last Dalek in existence and now he's died. No, wait. They're back again through some cloning by the Emperor, but later killed. Hang on, some were hiding between reality."And so on. OK granted I can't think of a better way to escape being the Doctor's "room mate", but I'm sure they could have though of something better than "Kill him now and fix the "how the hell did he return?!" plot hole when we next want to use him".
Otherwise a kickass ending to a kickass season.
-
Are you meaning the Master? Well I think it was pretty much hinted from the ending that he lives on through his 'ring'.
As for the Cybermen and Daleks, yea its annoying, but it was like that in the old series, although Cybermen never really died in Army of Ghosts (home brew versions as was stated in Cyberwoman and Made of Steel)
Personally next year I'm hoping for no Daleks, they been on FAR too much. I mean, it was like, 4 episodes in between each Doomsday and Daleks in Manhatton. Maybe they could use something else…dunno....Sontarans? Although the Cybermen would be my best bet.
-

Yeah. Sometimes I can't get the words out the way I want to.
Anyway, I agree the ending hinted that he'll come back through his ring (or as a woman?), but I would have preferred it if they hadn't killed him the way they did.
As for the way they handled the Daleks and Cybermen in the old series, really? It has been a while since I last watched the old eps so I guess that slipped my mind.
-
I lost my Doctor Who virginity.
And I liked it.
-
I don't know if he was serious or not but in the commentary mr T davies mentions that the woman who picked up the ring was the Rani he also says that they will not be picking up on that scene next year, he just put it in there to give any future production teams something to use if they want to bring back The Master.
course this is the same guy who said they would never ever use the master in the new series….
-
Thats one thing about RTD, is that you can read him easily, 'no Daleks in series 2.' yet we saw them in Doomsday. 'The Master won't return.' yet in series 3…wait...didn't he say we won't be seeing the Ice Warriors? =3
-
The new companion is revealed!
! Its cathrene Tate reprising her donna character from the runaway bride
-
God, that annoyed me so much, she was SHIT in the Christmas special, thats was the problem with last years, and now she's in all next year >.< They couldn't have put an all new character in tho, could they? NOOOOO.
-
hehe, am I the only one who likes the idea of Catherine Tate coming back?! I can't wait for the next season now!
Also, when I first heard, I got stright back down to work (well, after watching "Runaway Bride" again) and made this!

Ra-Ta-Ta! It's that time again! Since Series 4 has started filming, keep in mind that so far, not all of this is confirmed, also, they are filming Torchwood at the moment too so.
! Anywho, on we go:
! Voyage of the Damned:
! U.N.I.T signs have been spotted, YAAY!
Kylie's character name is Asrtid, which is a common australian name, and also the anagram of a certain box.
Apparently Sailors who have drowned and became rusted.
! Others:
! Ood are confirmed in a story called 'Planet of the Ood'
at one point Donna goes back in the TARDIS for her coat, not bothered by the alien world.
The Agatha Christie story apparently is set around a Church. It's rumoured to be episode 2 or 3, which makes sense, most of the ones with famous people tend to be early on (Unquiet Dead, Girl in the Fireplace, Shakespeare Code)
An Ancient Rome episode.
! Rumours of a DALEK -
I read something a few weeks ago about a Doctor Who video game coming out soon.
-
I heard on the radio last week or the week before that Davros MAY be coming back. Personally I'm hoping this turns out to be true. I hate how the Daleks (and other returning villains) are killed off and then through some retcon or loophole come back again, only to be killed off again. If Davros does indeed return, he can make a whole new batch of Daleks.
-
I read something a few weeks ago about a Doctor Who video game coming out soon.
It's Doctor Who top trumps.
Anyways, yea, I heard about Davros too, makes sense aswell, Caan goes running home crying to Daddy, who makes a nice new batch of Daleks to join him.
Although I was hoping for something else new this year, we have so many legendary aliens that could be done, Sontarans, Ice Warriors (although they were recently in the Big Finish Audio 'Frozen Time', Yeti, Silurians, Sea Devils, Cybermen (I want them to be AWESOME, not parrallel shit)
-
While I wouldn't mind seeing those return, The Master was the only one I was really keen to see come back, and he has (and died… Again).
-
Haha yea, he returned and died XD Which is sorta good in the way they did it, it woulda been annoying if he was in constantly.
-
I agree the idea of him being a "companion" just wouldn't have worked, but I kinda hoped they could remove him for now through means OTHER than killing him.
-
I just wish he had his TARDIS somewhere, so he could escape or something, like in the good ol days lol, or the Toclafane went wrong and he had to team up with the Doctor, LIKE THE GOOD OL DAYS XD
-
At times I get the feeling the writers don't care about the old days. They'll do what they want to the series and don't give a toss how the classic fans may take to it, i.e. the "love relationships between the doctor and companion" (though I can't say I care either way about it).
-
I don't care for the love thing either, at least they aren't doing much about the abysmal heap of shit called the TV Movie (which is a shame, cus McGann is AMAZING in the audios and books)
But I do love the references we get to the classic series, which is always nice.
-
If anything I find the love thing more realistic, especally from Martha Jones. She's around him for however long it was. They seemed to click on so many ways during the time that she was with him that I'm not surprised she fell for him.
Still like I said, my opinion on the topic is grey.
-
GAAAAAASP!
Peter Davison is apparently in the CIN special with David Tennant! WOOOOOO!
-
I should give this series another chance.
The next episode to air out here is titled Blink. That one any good?
-
I really enjoyed Blink, it's Doctor lite tho, but the enemy is pretty creepy.
-
I missed it last week.
The next episode is titled Utopia.
-
Utopia PWNS! I really enjoyed it, although non classic who fans (or anyone who doesn't know much about DW) probably won't enjoy it as much, Although Derek Jacobi's acting is AWESOME, as is the girl who plays Chan-Tho.
-
Derek Jacobi was an excellent Master, even if it was only for about five minutes. And John Simm carried the torch so well. Speaking of The Master, according to the podcast that goes with the last episode of the third season, the hand is "the hand of the Rani", and further reading on her Wiki entry has mentioned a few rumours of her return.
-
haha yea, although RTD stated that he's not going to use her himself, just using it as a way to bring back the Master if need be. Although it has been said that there are two returning enemies in series 4 (Davros speculated to be one) note taht the 'Ood' do not count as classic, most people are expecting Sea Devils or Silurians (Sea Devils, Silurians and Warriors of the Deep are January's box set, while a Davros boxset will be out for christmas)
Also, another note, Sarah Jane starts on Monday at 5:00pm (boo! I miss it ;-;) First episode will feature the Slitheen (which is nice, cus they suit that more) also Torchwood is repeating on BBC3 on Friday nights.
-
local-chan got me and my husband hooked on this. Now my husband teases me about David Tennant being my boyyyyfrieeennnnd /sappy voice
I wish!
-
This post is deleted!
-
I got you addicted? Oh come on! It did it itself hahaha.
Anywho, over the course of the week I've been enjoying 'The Key to Time' such a fun series, well worth the price tag imo.
And lots of K-9 too ^_^
