Wouldn't it be great if Franky and Usopp could build "Sogeking" a suit of armour and dials so that Usopp could stop being portrayed as a frickin' pansy all the time and get beat up like Sanji and Franky.
Just a thought. For me that would raise Usopp's coolness from 8/10 to a solid 9.5.

Nah, an Impact Dial Aegis would be bordering on Don Krieg's 'armored might pwns all' mentality. Usopp's trademark is the same as Timex: "Takes a licking, and keeps on ticking."

Usopp gets hit with giant hammers and 4 ton bats, dragged through brick walls, electricuted multiple times, impact-dialed, gomu gomu pistoled (or was that bullet?), shigganed multiple times, and he gets back up again like nothing happened. I don't see why he needs a suit when he's already superhuman.

But his melee attacks suck! At least Nami can fight at close range. That's all I'm saying. With a suit of cheap armor he could melee. He doesn't use his hammer enough.

Yes, but least without Melee he can attack from afar, for Melee we already have Zoro, Luffy, Sanji, Chopper, Robin (not sure on her, she is sorta both I'd say) and Franky. Isn't that enough?

Well, not like nothing happened; Mr. 4 put a major hurt on Long-Nose and it took him a minute to recover from Blueno's Shigan as well. But otherwise, a super suit would just make him reliant on something to absorb damage for him. A snazzy costume to go with the mask (and to introduce a reason for him to flee from battles.) would be great.

I like Usopp BECAUSE he is the underdog. BECAUSE he is not like the others. I like that despite him being weak, he can still hold his own. THAT"S what makes him cool. -
I love him as is. Giving him a suit of armor isn't really his style, being a sniper and all. That would lower his godly agility and speed, which is and will always be Usopp's saving grace. And he does technically have one melee, the impact dial. But all of his long range attacks fricking kick ass, so I don't see the reason to balance him out.

oh man, an impct dial in his hammer would be ingenious as fuck
but he'd need some way to press the button to release the impact into an enemy. Oh well, usopp kicks ass so i'm sure he'd figure something out

yeah, Usopp does kick ass. just not in the way that Zoro Luffy or Sanji kick ass. The fact that he can hold his own this far, and he's closer to being very human compared to the other guys… that's saying something.
i also hate how people think characters should change just because they are not 'badasses'
it would get boring so quickly if suddenly Usopp is all powerful like Zoro or something. there needs to be some balance there. he has proved useful to the crew.

He did say that he could upgrade his hammer with dials when he first got one, as well as Nami's clima-tact. He did it for the tact, I'm expecting him to follow through on the rest. ^_^

I wasn't suggesting that Usopp NEEDS a battle suit…I just think it would be one of the awesome things he busts out of nowhere. Like his "giant hammer" from the Mr. 4/Ms. Merry Christmas fight.
