OK, stupid title and whether or not this is the appropriate forum aside, I was thinking the other day of a very silly thing. Mostly, whether or not Naruto characters could exist and fight and generally live in a chakra-free world such as One Piece. Now I know what you're thinking: he's nuts and really should be keelhauled while being mauled by wild llamas. But somehow, the more I thought about it, the more I was able to figure out the situation for a world where, say, there is no chakra, yet there is potential of fighting with anything and everything. (Devil fruits being part of it) And so far, here's some of my silly thoughts as to whether or if they can. (based only on the characters I know)
Naruto Uzumaki: Personalitywise, he's your typical shonen hero..sort of like Luffy in that sense. Powerwise…well, take away all the abilities Naruto uses chakra for (Kage Bushin, Ransengan), he would still have...well an extremely reckless fighting style, but he can still fight hand-to-hand. And while there is no Kyuubi in this world, I can easily see him with some sort of "Fox-Fox Fruit", allowing him to fight like...well, not a mystical vulpine but more like a real one. He's fine.
Sasuke Uchiha: Not one of my favorite characters...but I do see one main problem in his existance in the OP world. That being: no Sharingan. There are hypnosis abilities and other sorts of powers, but Oda really hasn't allowed for the existance for a "be-all and end-all" ability that can copy and create illusions and such. On the other hand, I could see an Oda-powered Sasuke emphasizing other abilities. For one, with the emphasis of fire abilities in the Uchiha clan, I could see him with the Mera-Mera fruit...sure being a Logian is no Sharingan, but it has a lot of uber-ness in itself. Secondly, he still has vast physical skill, so he could use that to his advantage. Personality...I could almost say like a Zoro, but Zoro isn't angsty and upset all the time. Sure he has his dreams, but beating Mihawk is only part of the story...while beating Itachi is pretty much most of what Sasuke is about.
Sakura Haruno: While most of her ninja skill (at least prior to what I hear happens in the time-skip) is rather generic, she could have the brains to survive. Maybe the equivalent to a more-honest Nami (heh...like that exists).
Kakashi: The sad thing about Kakashi is that since he's so well made for the Kishimoto world (master of stealth, the copy master thanks to his Sharingan), its extremely hard to fit him into a more Oda-universe. Without the Sharingan/chakra, all Kakashi has is his stealth and ninja skills...which while great in themselves, just makes him a powerful assasin instead of the extremely cool/powerful guy he is. Maybe I could throw him a bone and give him a Goro-Goro fruit for his Chidori/Raikiri attack...but I don't know how a laid-back guy like him could have use for that fruit.
When I get back to this post, I'll probably do some more of the main genin.
