Wow. I am very suprised. Great tone, great acting. That said I like the live actions guy voice better. Though kappei works great too.

Really? I thought that L's voice provided by Yamaguchi was better than the live action because it seemed a little cooler and confident.

I think the live action nailed the calmness in L's voice. That being said, I think the anime caught lights evilness a lot better, while the movie had his nice guy tone voice. I can't decide which voice for light I like better.
Also what did watari sound like? Or was he not revealed yet?

Thanks, This is one voice that I ABSOLUTELY perfer in the live action. Watari just sounds weird. I love matsuda's voice though.

I was wrong when I said it sounded like an old man. It's more gruff than old. Perhaps the voice actor is making it sound gruff as Watari may disguise his voice than his older personage suggests.

Yeah, the animation is still good, but for the most part, Ryuk and Light don't look quite as nice as they did in Ep 1.

I still found the animation to be quite good, if it stayed at the level it is in ep 2 I would be happy. Wow, I haven't been this anxious to watch a raw in a while. Very good episode, I'm curious to see how far next week's will cover.
And I really wish one of the subbers would speed sub it. I understand it is probably a lot of work, but hey =P I can hope.

Toriyama's World had it up pretty fast. (Yes, I consider it good speed. Anything before the next ep airs is good speed for me.)

Now that I have heard Light, Ryuk, and L's voices, I think I'm done with RAWs. Hopefully a sub will be out quicker since the subbers have the OP and ED set.
Indeed, how well the anime did with Light's evilness is quite apparent in ep 2.

That episode was really sweet. It mostly covered chapter 2, although it did deal with other events in volume 1. Yamaguchi is doing an awesome job as L so far. He reminds me nothing of InuYasha or Usopp.

Very true. But yeah, hopefully TW will keep releasing two versions instead of sticking with v2's format(which I liked except for the Ryuuku thing).

LE's subs were pretty good overall, second ep was awesome, L's voice is great. Only thing I didn't like was the font they used.

yamaguchi's L is awesome!also downloaded Live-Evil's last night to compare, and its definetely not as good as TW's.

Within the twelve volumes of the comic did the authors ever really touch the subject of whether Light's actions, which of course were of the evil, made the world a better place or not?

"Light" is a foreign word for me and it still sounds stupid.
