Episode 33 was a joy to watch. As I understand it, there are 3-4 episodes remaining right? I'm eagerly anticipating how the series will end with such a small of time..
Near solved the case too easily. I enjoyed L better.

Did anyone else notice Giovanni saying "he died in the locker room" in the preview for 34?
Unless I don´t remember the manga correctly I don´t think anyone ever died in the locker room?

anyone see 34 yet. I know Misa is an obnoxois ditz, but I'm starting to feel sorry for her. She worked hard to get what she wanted, and now everyone is back stabbing her.
It's starting to get really interesting though. 3 more episodes left. ooh, the anticipation.

So the anime may be going a different route because if Mikiami dies that changes EVERYTHING.

Haven't been moved to watch it from the beginning tho. Death note was fun the first run through, but I don't think it'd be too interesting on a second run through, Animated or not.
and I don't like how OD they make things look.(Something as simple as writing in a notebook must be made to look all flashy and full of unnecessary movements.)

It sounds like it is going to end after 36 or 37 episodes. As for the flash notebook writing…It's more dramatic that way. But we didn't see Light make such dramatic movements as this new guy. (But he did make some dramatic movements sometimes.)

The only time I think the anime went overboard was with Light's epic chip-eating. Other than that I think their exaggerated scenes have fit fine.

Okay, so my fanboy statement just failed hard.
Plus I don´t feel like defending it, anyway.
The anime sure lacks some subtlety which takes away from the seriousness of the story. There are some unnecessarily overexaggerated scenes in it which is a perfectly good reason to dislike the anime.
However, I still enjoy watching it even though it can be unintentionally funny at times. I guess I just don´t take the story seriously enough in the first place to be dissatisfied with it.
Or I´m just stupid.Have a good day.

Noticed that while trying to watch the anime. Realized that while the plot was decent, Nothing in the series stands out at all besides L.
Decent the first run-through, but after that it's just kind boring to me.
37 is the last one tho right? I'll watch that one.

well i haven't read the manga, so i thought, it was pretty plot twisty myself. (I'm sure the manga is more-so) Your right though, L really did stand out and make it enjoyable. It just hasn't been as good since L left. Was the manga like that?

I think Death Note had more than plot twists. It has a lot of interesting psychology to it.
Light's corruption through power, and his return to innocence when he loses his memories, only to be recorrupted when they return.
L's insociable additude and behavior, as well as his skewed, yet accepted, sense of justice.
Near's inability to understand the feeling's of others, and his determination to surpase L.
Mello's desire to beat Near taking priority over catching Kira(until the end, anyway).
Ryuk's spectator's perspective on the world of the humans.
All of this, and the general theme of "What is justice?" made DN very interesting to me.

Yeah, but the whole idea of a "plot" is that there's twists and such to keep you entertained. Any series would be dry if nothing interesting and unexpected happened.

! Aww, no swimming lessons or going for tah Olympic gold~! =( But the death was still okay and lol, they decided to animate Mikami's death.
! But at least the anime made Light look less pathetic in the hour of his death and that silhouette or reflection of L showing before Light did die as a good example of "OWNED" for him, ahaha~
