Death Note, Bokura ga Ita Anime in Production (2006-05-15 12:36:05)
The Bokura ga Ita and Death Note manga will be adapted into anime TV series, according to Japanese bookstore Chuosha. Bokura ga Ita will premiere July 3, and Death Note will premiere this fall. Source: Animenation [ discuss (6 posts) ]
i am glad to see its finally happening. after 110 or so chapters i was getiing a bit impatient.
I believe this was quietly announced a while back, but yay anyways.
At least since the manga has ended they don't have to rely on any fillers. then again, I can't imagine how one could write fillers for Death Note.

yep I have a feeling that this will tank or be severly altered since series like Death Note the suspense can only be kept in 2 ways
1. Spammage of Cheesy Camera Angles (SEE EVERY HORROR MOVIE EVER MADE)
2. In a book
Yea what I worry about the anime is how each character's thoughts are going to be conveyed. I mean most of the manga is made up of characters' thoughts…

Why can't they do thoughts as voiceovers, like in a live-action series? That the words are coming with no lip motion might be the cue, or a processing of the voice, or a slight music in the background.
I hope I can find an anime fanboy and tell him three or four episodes in:

Hooray! I only saw the first chapter and it got me hooked onto the series! =3 When Light killed all those criminals in the beginning … wow.

My favorite character in the show would be L, then Ryuk, Misa and Light… sorry to all Light fans, i just see him as a stupid idiot now who thnks that he can actually change the world by killing all criminals...O_o
L's awesome, and he's just so darn cute and funny! Same goes for Ryuk... err, except for that cute part...
Anyways, even if they are only raws, i hope to see the anime's first ep! I'm pretty sure the anime'll be rated for ages 16+ though... aw, hell, like anyone cares about that kinda stuff anymore! XD

Really? I've never heard, though I guess I mostly watch big Shonen shows. The only I knew of that aired late was Paranoia Agent. Either way, it probably means I won't be able to get a RAW/sub before I go to sleep each week.

I'm hoping it gets decent OP/ED songs. and that everyone gets good voices.
Then I may either get subs when a group does them, or stick with RAWS since I already know what happens in the series.

no its 12 volume series. Unless they do bleach pacing I highly doubt it. Toei reached vol 12 in episode 52 in one piece. So yeah my guess is 52.

I don't see how a Death Note anime could be 26 episodes. I mean, that would mean fitting at least 4 chapters worth of material into an episode. Given, volume 11 could probably be summed up in a single episode, but a the talking that goes on can't really be shortened for the rest of the series.

Actually, since the series probably won't be that long, it could be in America within a year. Fullmetal Alchemist and Eureka Seven had just finished airing in Japan when they started their run on [as].
I checked, didn't really see a thread just for the anime, so hopefully this isn't starting a new one.

I am so unbelievably excited about this anime. It looks like a very high quality production.
As for the shounen-ai-ness of it, there will always be fangirl yaoi speculation even if the characters are going for chicks left and right. Though with Death Note, I just don't see pairings at all. Except for humor/gag stuff.

Death Note will become really shonen ey when they have a good strong physical, not short squalls between Light and L, fight.
