I don't know how far we are from the end, but At Anime Expo Hirano said he was Aiming for 10 - 11 Volumes. and since we're already 2 Chapters into V9, Its looking like he may extend that a little to fit everything in. NOT TO MENTION The Dawn, which will take up a Volume or 2, meaning we're gonna end up with 12 - 13 volumes of Hellsing. at least if I'm right.
now, about Present Story Stuff.

! ANDERSON DIED!!! It's sad, but he had a fitting Death. And Alucard crying afterward was an excellent topper. I can't wait to see Alucard turn on Milennium. then maybe the Major's true plan will be clear.

Was into it for alittle while but got completely out of it, even more so after my breakup with Demon Rin.

I still got all the manga on my desktop tho, just don't see a point in deleting it.

I always sort of expected that character to die, however, was it ever explained what they became exactly? I know a nail was used but I don't really understand the story beyond that.

I feel like I missed a chapter explaining it but aside from that..

I wish there were more descriptive boxes at times like Oda uses, to make sure we know who's who.

Hellsing is a pretty good manga; but it for me, it got horribly boring and it began to had this "hey-let-me-pull-this-complete-ooc-chapter-out-of-my-ass-and-let's-see-if-the-fans-like -it" feeling. Hirano just isn't doing his best anymore, and that's a pity, because it's such a promising and great manga. So he kinda lost me as a fan, and Oda gained a new one.

Still waiting for the OVA though. <3

Alucard crying at Anderson's death? (Although I must admit, that was pretty awesome.) Seras randomly butting in on Alucard and Anderson's fight and suddenly disappearing again? Integral's flashback? And where the hell are the Captain and Walter in all of this; showing them standing on poles at the end of a chapter is a bit stupid if you're not going to show them any time soon.

Stuff that happened wasn't entirely OOC, true. But it was just…weird. I mean, why let Seras interfere in a battle when she doesn't even do a thing?

1: Alucard HAS CRIED BEFORE!!

! in Volume 4 Chapter 5 "Call to Power" He Has a Dream remembering his Defeat at the Hands of Van Helsing and him taunting alucard at him losing everything. When Alucard Wakes he finds tears running down the sides of his face. they are drawn dark so its assumed they were tears of blood. He cried at Anderson's Death because it reminded him of himself, he Gave up his humanity to become a monster, and anderson made the same mistake
2: Seras was TRYING TO SAVE HIM. after it had been confirmed that he was ok, she pretty much just got out of the way to let him finish.
3: how is Integral having a flashback of something her father told her OOC? she's Had MANY! in this instance it was pretty much Just repeating and adding to The Claims that both Alucard and Integral have made Since Volume 3 about how Humans are stronger than vampires and that a Vampire's Exhistance is an Empty one.
4: When they show Walter and The Captain, it was When the Major and the Rest of Millenium was watching Alucard fight Anderson. it Shows The Major Making Preparations to attack After the fight. OF COURSE it's going to show Walter and the Captain, they are the only Real strong members the Major has Left!

and Valiant, It comes out August 4th. I already have my Preorder on the Limited edition Ver XD

I have to admit, I was a bit baffled too. I was also wondering why some chapters are twice the size of an OP chapter, and others half the size.

I feel like there desperately needs to be SOME clear close of one portion of the story and open of another. The fact that

! London is currently in ruins as of book 9 chapter 2
doesn't make for a suitable background for Alucard and Anderson to go all emo. Are they THAT tied up in their madness that they can't deal with what else is on their plate?

Although I did love the author's comment on

Check the Hundred Swords or Might and Magic Chapters. or Just Read my Signature. the Fact that he and Integral have said Humanity is Better since Volume 3, the Fact that HE HAS CRIED BEFORE, and The Fact that integral's Flashback about WHY a Vampire would want to die is Proof Enough that this is NOT OOC

After this chapter (and maybe the Next CH if it has a Flashback) Hellsing and Alucard will go against Milennium most likely

And you pretty much hit the nail on the head in that last part. No character development is superior to boring and uninteresting character development, so why can't we just keep our vampire badass?

I think it's a matter of possibly losing what made Alucard so exciting in the first place. He's fun when he's cocky and violent and near-insane (and the whole drinking from blood bank pouches is hilarious). If he's emotionally fragile, it may make him more complete, but it makes him less cool. Compare Zoro. The most emotion he shows in the present tense is getting comically bothered by Tashigi. If developed an emotional side now, it would seem weird unless it was well-explained.

Alucard is not an Anne Rice lamenty-vampire in the first part of the series, so there's going to be a lot of fan inertia to converting him to one later.

Perhaps I'm just having a hard time following the story then. But I'm not sure I entirely grasp their plan. Tell me if I'm miscomprehending:

! The Major seems more interested in war for its own sake than anything else. If his goal is more about eradicating England than conquering it, or of creating an unending war, I'm amazed if it won't develop dissent in his own ranks. But conversely that could be according to his plan :head starts spinning:

I found it quite fitting he was crying. It completely fit the moment and that he had to kill possibly the last person who could have killed him. That and there are the other concepts that he may have saw facets of himself in anderson.

On an unrelated moment what happened to Seras arm? Is it forever missing, will it grow back?

I'm not really too excited…I went through my Hellsing phase a few years ago and it didn't really stay with me. But it's still a cool (and fairly big!) guest to get, if any of you are going you should check him out.

anyway, I'm glad someone finally thought it was fitting that he cried.
But for all you others, it's probabily not going to happen again, and it's not like he was Bawling, he was holding his head and one small stream rand down each cheek, chances are he'll shape up and Fight Milennium soon.

! Okay…last we saw Alucard, he had just ripped out and destroyed Anderson's heart, and was crying blood. This chapter starts off with a shot of the sun rising over the dead city. Heinkel and Yumie are in shock, Seras looks sad and follows behind Integra, who looks very solemn. We get some dialogue between Alucard and Anderson, who is turning into ashes and crumbling away. We've read on some Japanese fansites that they are promising each other that they will meet again in Hell. Integra picks up a big sword (probably one that was used by Maxwell's Crusaders) and drives it into the ground, casting a long cross-shaped shadow towards Anderson. There's also a bunch of the father's bayonets sticking out of the ground nearby. Anderson reaches towards the sun and talks some more, he crumbles some more, and then he and Alucard say "amen". He's gone. ;_;
! R.I.P. Alexander Anderson. 193X-1999 (or 1997-2006 as a fictional character)
! Then Walter shows up. He crushes Anderson's head (or what's left of it) under his heel, and slices up some buildings with his wires. Everybody craps their pants (Integra's cigar falls out of her mouth). Apparently the wreckage from the buildings traps Yumie (maybe Heinkel), but page 13 is missing from the zip file I acquired. Anyway, he starts smoking a cigarette, and Integra yells his name and asks him something. And Walter replies. Yes, Dark Walter can talk. 0.0 End of chapter.
