Okay, considering I read most of the series and it kept me sane when I lost internet and didn't have cable for a few weeks back some time ago I say I owe it to read it till the end.
Can someone be so kind as to tell me where I left off and where I can get the manga from there on?
! Last thing I recall was Anderson was disenegrating away and Alucard was crying.

The major's voice sounds weird (not a bad thing FYI) and the finger twirling what was up with that.

He sounds about the way I pictured he would in japanese, but it's not the perfect voice. That can only be done in english. Hopefully, the dub won't fuck it up(and they've done pretty damn well so far, so they probably won't).

Well Major's already in OVA3, and his voice is pretty well done. So no worries, at least for me.

Jesus, that was the best 40 so minutes I've had watching something for a long time. That was amazing. The end credits make it ten times better by concept alone.
I can't wait for the dub.

Does anyone know why Anderson's name isn't romanized Andersen? Doesn't it sound more like that? And in the ova 4 his name is written as "Andersen" in the paper he gives to the Alucard and co. (the paper that was about the plane)

I just finished watching the Hellsing series for the very first time. That was some good stuff o_o
Why didn't I watch it sooner?! x) I wonder if Adult Swim could get away with airing something like that..
And why was Trinity Blood such a complete copy rip off of it?

Trinity Blood wasn't as much of a ripoff as it was just a shitty show.
I remember the first vampire on its main weapon was an ARM BLADE.

Well, I mean they both had a Vampire guy who wore glasses and worked for some human lady.. who looked about the same in both series, and led an organization bound by religious code. And they both started out with him rescuing a girl.. But Hellsing actually stayed good though.
My favorite characters would have to be
1. the tall Reverend guy with the knives
2. the cursing brother from the Vampire duo who teliported awayI was surprised that he never returned. Anyway, Alucard was insanely overpowered, and I always ended up feeling sorry for whoever he was fighting
EDIT: Alucard resembled jthm in his final stage.. yes he did..

Well Afro Samurai didn't have heavy religious references in it. Even FMA didn't come close to some of the stuff Hellsing had.
CN probably couldn't afford Afro Samurai anyway :x

And hey, the manga is relatively close to the end now. Wouldn't it be surprised if it ended before 2009.

What?? I thought he just retreated. After she shot him with silver bullets, he laughed and snapped his fingers. Then Magic Green Fire went around him and he vanished. I thought that he used his powers to teleport away or something.. :[
Now that you've watched the anime you try watching the OVA.
Does it continue on the story? Or is it just "what if scenarios"

The OVA series follows the manga, where the anime originally ran out of material to cover.
The first two OVAs follow what we've already seen in the anime, but are fifty times more awesome. OVA3 begins covering where the anime stopped. (That and the OVA series doesn't have those annoying side characters the anime added in)

Eh, aside from Enrico Maxwell's introduction, which was changed for obvious reasons, I kinda liked how the anime did the firs two volumes better than the manga. Specially Anderson's introduction, and Celes' pathos.
Although I like the manga and the first two ovas too.

Got a little problem when I played the AVI, Rin; I usually use Media Player Classic to play my video files, when I ran the ep. with MPC, the characters' voices were very low almost un-listen-able; what codec should I use to rectify this?

I had that problem too, actually. And not just MPC, either. Pretty much every player I have.
