God damn, hearing that makes me want to play Metroid again. One of the first updates to have something worthwhile to my eyes (or ears as it may be). I almost enjoy the music updates the most, at least until they get to some new characters or Final Smashes or something.

Doesn't even come close to the quality of the Metroid Prime version of the theme song when you fight Meta Ridley above the Impact Crater.

At first, I thought this was another stage update, as I could only see the title… But as I scrolled down, I saw the music. It was an alright update, I guess I just got spoiled with all the good updates lately.

It's a bit messy song but after already hearing it a few times around it's growing on me. I'm too used to the Prime version, I guess. Anyway, I want Ridley so the song gets my hopes up (I already got my Meta Knight, Pit and Wario tho).
Party gaming has never been fun for me. At least not near as much of fun as competitive gaming. Oh well, different people different strokes.

Wavedashing will probably get axed, but L-canceling is going to stay. They kept L-canceling from Smash Bros. 64 to Melee; it's one of the few advanced techniques that was, without a doubt, intentional.
Peach's Turnips are one of the best approaches in the game. Falco has the absolute best approach, though. But anyway, Peach is Upper Tier for more than just Turnips and her Down Smash.

EDIT: The Ridley song is good, but it still can't top the Battlefield theme.

like I said i dont know peach that well, I use Marth mainly. But I hope they keep wavedashing. Just cuz it wasnt intentional doesnt mean it didnt make the game better.

Sakurai stated that he's attempting to slow the game down in Brawl, likely because Melee was too fast-paced for casual players. Keeping wavedashing wouldn't help to slow it down at all. Moreover, wavedashing didn't make the game "better". It actually helped to create greater gaps in the tier list, since many characters become much more effective with wavedashing, yet others practically don't have one and suffer for it. Granted, SHFFL'ing is infinitely more important than wavedashing, but still.
Marth will be a bit crippled without his excellent wavedash, but he'll cope.
Oh, and only boobs play with Marth. ARE YOU SOME KIND OF BOOOOOOB?

If Ridley gets in, I want to be able to use his phazon death laser.
Oh, and as a general rule, I mostly screw around when playing Melee and play as random fun characters (Game & Watch, Pikachu, or Peach), and then if I actually want to win I use Marth or Luigi/Mario. Also, I'm fairly sure I am not a boob.

Yup, that's how I got the sacrificial KO. Of course in the first one, I liked standing on the edge with Yoshi, and dropping them off the cliff in an egg. (That's how I beat giant DK).

I'm pretty sure he didn't mean he's bad because he's no good. He's bad because he's too good, so the best player in the world using him is kinda obvious.
Personally, I don't wavedash or shuffle. I don't do anything like that. I don't snake in Mario Kart, I don't alt spam in Metroid… I just play normally. I really hope wavedashing is removed from Brawl, just to make the online play more accesible.
btw, I don't have any specialty character. I've never understood how anyone can really be better with one specific character, so I just go random every match.
EDIT: One last thing... I'm kinda putting all my views on Smash Bros into one post, since I haven't posted here yet.
I can't understand people complaining about getting relatively small updates. Two months ago, if we were given just one day's worth of news, we'd all be ecstatic over it...

I think the fact that there is even a competitive circuit for Melee is silly. It's a damn party game, playing it competitively where one must study every little glitch and technique in order to win sucks the fun out of it.

Not really, that's just how they have fun.
I don't like competitive play/tiers and just stick to casual myself, but I never really saw a problem with other people playing like that as long as they aren't being jackasses about it.

Marth is a total throw pillow, is the problem. Nobody with any self-respect actually likes Marth.
That, and of all the Upper Tier characters, Marth is the easiest to pick up and play. Fox and Falco actually take a good of deal of practice to learn their advanced techniques, good Sheik players have to deal with her shitty short hop and average recovery, and Peach's air game takes a lot of dedication.
Marth is just f.air, f.air, f.air, d.air, F.Smash. Throw in his excellent Grab Game and the fourth-longest wavedash, and bam. Hooray. Marth.

Well Iv'e always enjoyed the idea of beatig good players I know..

I was going to say Hey I like marth, but to see what you said…completely, you make sense. =D I'm pretty damn good with Sheik and proud. And I don't play as her most of the game play, I'm Zelda as well.
Now for Solid Snake, that sexy bastard, >.< I can't wait to get my hands on a wii and brawl, I'll be kickin' some major ass! Solid Snake is soooo awesome. I really hope he has good moves.

That's just it, though. Not all fighting games are like that.
There's nothing to the equivalent of that Fox video in games like Guilty Gear. There just isn't. You literally see every character played in tournaments.
There's just no excuse when a game can be exploited in the way that Smash Bros. can. Things need to be changed, which is hopefully what we'll see in Brawl.

That would be nice.
The best fighting games are the ones where there isn't some definite line between being competitive and casual. Anybody should be able to pick up a fighter and, with adequate practice, be able to compete.
