I think Zoro would probably be the captain in a heartbeat (after he knocks Usopp out for trying to be the captain probably) But you never know maybe Nami could be captain :huh: Because Zoro would probably just want to keep lying arund sleeping and fighting like he's been doing and not have to be captain.

That would be sad, if Luffy died. But making Zoro captain would make sense, since he is kinda like the first mate (though Sanji would probably object^^). Nami could be a good captain too, because she can easily give out orders and boss everybody around…

im not sure zoro would want to be captain it dosent seem like something he would want to do. plus as VildaHawk pointed out usopp is the back up captain him and luffy decided that a long time ago. ^_^

If Luffy died, I think the group would break up. Zoro has no reason to be captain (he said in the DBF that if Luffy wasn't his captian, he had no purpose being a pirate).

I don't think the crew would disband at all. I believe they are prepared for the worst & they understand the implusive nature of their Captain & the dangers that go with that. Plus they're nakama, regardless if Luffy is alive or not, it doesn't change that fact.
I don't think they'd just break apart & abandon their dreams & each other, they're stronger together then they are apart, they know that.

Zoro could become Captain. I don't think he'd refuse but if anything he'd only be doing it to honor Luffy's memory.
But if anyone has the best chance it's Nami because face it she's the brains of the crew. Plus she already order's everyone around anyways.

nah I hardly consider Zorro to be captain at all
to begin with his main goal isn't to be pirate king at all but to be the world's greatest swordsman
so he probably won't take over the pirate gang
and if Luffy does die, I think the gang will scatter cuz it's reli Luffy who's holding the group together -

I agree-all the Straw Hats do look up to Luffy and have a pretty strong friendship, but without a leader like Luffy they are pretty much on their own. I think they would probably split up but some members would stay with others. (Sanji and Nami would be the most hilarious pair)

I think it would definentally be Nami. I mean, she acts like the Captain 90% of the time anyway. Zoro just….no.

IF Luffy ever died, I think that Zoro would probably take over for him. But really, the Strawhat pirates just simply cannot be without Luffy. So if worst come to worst, and Luffy did die, then Zoro would be most qualified to become captain and they would most likely agree to continue searching for One Piece in Luffy's memory. But hey, only if.
