Is it me or does pretty much any game magazine or game show hate any and all anime games? (Looks at X-Play). I don't think 5.5 is a reasonable score since there's nothing wrong with the gameplay. Scores like that are reserved for games with bad gameplay.

Yes, don't trust gameing magazines. They hate everything that isn't "hip" or mainstream. Rockstar could release a game so bad it deserves to be burned, slap a GTA title on it, and of course the magazines would love it.
Note: This is all assumption based on a limited number of reviews I have seen for games in that type of magazine.
-
I guess I'll be renting it tomorrow. I doubt I have any games which would get my 30 bucks.
Legacy of Kain: Defiance is it pretty much 100% brand new condition but I got it from my brother as a birthday present last year so I don't wanna sell a birthday present even tho where I am on the game I can't do shit. (Think its a glitch which that game is filled with)
Def Jam Vendetta is a game my sisters boyfriend gave me cause they had to sell their PS2.
Spiderman the movie I don't play but this came out in 2002 I highly doubt it'll get me much money.
Wolverine's Revenge I don't play anymore.
Sly Cooper I don't either but I think I'll hang onto it.
So, how much would Def Jam Vendetta, Spiderman the movie, and Wolverines Revenge get me? I take good care of my games so they aren't damaged really.
-
I say play it yourself, don't listen to ANYBODY else because it probably a great game. Yeah true about Rockstar although they make good games (GTA Liberty City PS2 sucked tho). Really hard to take a review seriously when they are obviously biased. How can a game get a low score when u had nothing bad to say about it? Anyways, is this game out early or do I still have to wait?
Buuhan, I say they will give you about $10 at the most. I only got $5 for NBA 05 when 06 came out. Just my guess, but you won't get much.
-
They should give you about $15-20… >_>
And NP said it wasn't like an adventure... >_>;
-
Jeez…only $15-20....
Where should I sell tho? I don't think Wal-Mart takes games.
Would I be able to sell them at like a Gamestop or something and get cash instead of store credit?
-
Actually, I don't think Gamestop gives money, or Walmart takes games… >_>
But you could try selling and buying at Gamestop, as even $20 (40 - 20) is less than $30... >_>
-
Gamestop/EB is where you'd sell it, but it's definitely not worth whatever they offer. They would have bought my MvC2 for $5. Of store credit.
I originally posted the Nintendo Power thing. But you know, post 128 bit Gundam, game reviews have been dead on about anime games for the most part. But there is a slight bias when the get into quality, sometimes.
-
Buuhan, you'd probably be better off keeping your games. Gamestop is a bunch of cheap bastards.
-
But from the sounds of things only Wal-Mart is selling it for $30 so I have to sell it somewhere where I'd get money.
What about EB Games?
-
What about EB Games?
Gamestop bought EB games, so EB can't give you anymore than Gamestop would. Not anymore…
-
I wonder what Game Crazy would do…
And I'm guessing the starting price is $40 for it normally...

I just got it today, but really, it literally says "If you're not expecting a genuinely grand adventure, you'll have a good time." >_>;
-
What about Game Crazy in Hollywood Video? Would they give cash?
-
Gamecrazy does not give you cash, but is your best bet if you want to sell your games for the most. They give the most out of them, EB and Gamestop. I'm also assuming that the Wal-mart thing is a mess up.
I went to the Gamecrazy by me today on my way home from school to find out the release date of the game. Looks like they'll have it on Wednesday. I went there to also preorder Mortal Kombat Armegeddon and the guy working offered to buy a game of my choice for me if I beat him in Deception with him using Scorpion. Lost the 2 times that he was Scorpion, but I think he got a little worried since I did win one match out of about 5. No free Grand Adventure for me
-
Gamestop gives cash, but they'll give you more money in credit.
You can look up (some) used game prices on their site, I think. i usually get some pretty decent money from them.
-
I actually think the support characters would be a great feature if they each were unique. (Like every single one has their own unique skills, and aren't incredibly stupid in the AI department)
Some of the character work better as supports since they're cool but don't necessarily have alot of moves. And unlike someone like Vivi who can be given new moves, some can't (what could Kureha or Conis do as playable characters?)
(removed Gb4 speculation, put it in the new thread)
If GB4 gets brought to the US, we'd go as far as Skypiea and anything else would be cut. (Freeloader and import is a must, just so we can play as W7 characters)
Bandai would be smart if they just continue making US exclusive Grand Battle games, adding new features we can't get in the Japanese games (like the Adventure mode)
Grand Adventure is as far as we'll likely go in terms of content for a long time, so Bandai's best choice is to give us exclusive content and extra game-modes.
If they can expand the adventure mode and give us some free-roaming, story involved action then they'd have gold on their hands.
I still say adventure is gb4 but bandai wanted it to go try it out in the us first, and since do to spoilers they didnt add water 7 in the us one, but will in japan
-
Bandai wouldn't really need to test, but a GB4 could possibly just be an updated version of this.
-
Well most likely GameCrazy nore Hollywood video would have GA for sale, just for rent. So getting store credit their would be worthless.
-
You must have a crappy Gamecrazy. My Gamecrazy gets a few copies of basically every new game. Grand Adventure is no exception. You can even preorder it from them. Rental is a different story. Hollywood Video probably won't have it for rent, but I'm surprised that mine actually has Mega Man X Collection for rent on the GCN
-
Well I'll just have to see then when I go tomorrow.
there*

Ohm: Shura/Gedatz/Satori/Holy
Franky: Paulie/Zambai/IceburgNevermind the fact that a lot of these supports are pure guesses.
-
Mr. 11? The fuck?
Then again… he'd be a lot more interesting and fun than Kuina..
-
Yeah that's just pure crap. Support characters can only go up to 3.
-
Yeah, not to mention we saw all of Ohm's support choices in that one trailer.
-
What gets me is the different shapes and sizes of the buttons for GCN… And some of the attacks need you to press down more than one button... >_> And so it feels a bit awkward...
Actually, I think it's the other way around, because in many games I've played for the PS2 require you to press harder for certain actions. Like for example, I played a racing game once, and my vehicle wouldn't go fast unless I pressed really hard, and I thought I was pressing hard enough. And the Gamecube controller feels much more comfortable, IMO.
But, tell me, do you own a PS2 only? I used to only own a Gamecube and I grew use to that, but then one christmas my dad bought me the very slim version of the PS2, and it still feels a little akward to me, mainly because I was use to a gamecube. And I seriously don't follow reviews. It's the critics opinions, and what makes their opinion ours all of a sudden? Nintendo Power usually scores pretty high for games that were made by Nintendo, and it isn't much different with that Playstation Underground. But then there's magazines that review all the games from every console, like Electronic Gaming Monthly, Game Informer, Gamepro, etc. Those, in my opinion, are the most screwed up, since they've played nearly every video game there is, and so they'll basically "compare" a game to the other games they've played in the past, and sometimes give games a lower score then they actually deserve.
-
Yeah, I was reffering only to the PS2 and Gamecube in my comment. Which is definately stronger.
And that character list…....not only is it so obviously false, but what's with some of the support character choices (Dalton for Wapol? Paulie for Franky?) And just because Robin gets to use her abilities as a support doesn't mean everyone else gets too (its mainly because she has nobody else) That darn Wikipedia an its lies.
I wanna know if the remaining 5 support characters are anyone interesting. Like Gan Fall (for Nami or Chopper maybe?) or Cricket (I feel he'd work well for Luffy)
-
According to a clerk at my local Rhino Videogames store, GA was released on the 25th! The hell?! Yeah, Rhino stores are supposed to be selling them, but MY Rhino store doesn't plan on carrying it! Apparently, it's not a title that a lot of people will be looking for! To make matters worse, they marked the game at 40 bucks!
Cut me some slack, will ya?! The PS2 is gonna be obsolete soon, anway!
EDITGuess I'll have to try getting it from Wal-Mart, instead.
-
Well, normally, it's gonna be $40. I think only Walmart is selling it for $30.
-
Ehh, new here. I just read about 27 pages of this…
Ohm is one of the unlockable ones though
teh proof.
Damn, i hope Wiper's in the game… ;-;
edit: it looks like Kunia's the other character. WTF? What can she possibly do? She's gonna be a tashigi clone ... >.< I wanted Wiper~! -.-
-
Nope, Wiper is only support for Luffy. Zeff, Kuina, Ohm, and Enel are the secret characters.
I was about to say, WTF with Aisa as support of Usopp?
-
Yeah just saw that…
Damn, what a drag... Kunia... that sucks... Oh well. Ohm looks pretty good though. And it 'supposedly' comes out tomorrow ... if they don't decide to change the date again... >>
-
@yokaiforte:
I lol at Wiki's list of One Piece support characters for the game.
Nevermind the fact that a lot of these supports are pure guesses.
I told people to mess with wikipedia to mess with the wikipedia-worshippers at GameFAQs… I guess they did it... >_>
Mr. 11? The fuck?
Then again… he'd be a lot more interesting and fun than Kuina..
Mr. 11 was tied up to a pole for his whole existance… >_> At least Kuina fought Zoro 1001 times...
Actually, I think it's the other way around, because in many games I've played for the PS2 require you to press harder for certain actions. Like for example, I played a racing game once, and my vehicle wouldn't go fast unless I pressed really hard, and I thought I was pressing hard enough. I guess pressure-sensors for all buttons are a double-edged sword. XD
But, tell me, do you own a PS2 only? I used to only own a Gamecube and I grew use to that, but then one christmas my dad bought me the very slim version of the PS2, and it still feels a little akward to me, mainly because I was use to a gamecube.
I got both; I actually played PS1 a lot before winning PS2 in a contest… I got GCN quite a while later... But then I stopped playing PS2 and played GCN, and recently played PS2 again (XD) because of import stuff. I think it's just that pressing multiple buttons on the right side of the GCN controller is weird, because PS2's are uniform but GCN's are two long, thin, and tall, one small and medium, and one huge and flat... XD
I was about to say, WTF with Aisa as support of Usopp?
According to the video, Usopp has a weird support that isn't Carrot, Potato, or… the other vegetable... >_> But it could be a random support...?
-
… Potato? xD
Which video? I found lots...
Aisa as usopp's support? Wtf? Well, you could kind of tell the list was wrong from seeing Lucci on there... though playing as Lucci would own! Maybe in GB4 … if one ever comes out >>;
-
Err- I meant Pepper. Yes. And Onion. Okay, I got them all! >_>
There is a video of Usopp in Skypeia… That's it. >_>
It's probably Onion drawn weird, though. XD
-
@Mera-kaizoku:
Yeah just saw that…
Damn, what a drag... Kunia... that sucks... Oh well. Ohm looks pretty good though. And it 'supposedly' comes out tomorrow ... if they don't decide to change the date again... >>
My local game stores always have the game on sale the day after release, because the "release date" is really just the shipping date.
-
wtf??
what happened to wikipedia's ga stuff?!?
and on that list earlier, why was lucci etc on it?EDIT:
Would we be able to get a chat room set up where people who have the game can discuss it with others?
That would be awesome!
Thanks :D -
This post is deleted!

Actually, of this generation, the PS2 is the weakest (graphics wise) of the three systems. Though, it's not TOO far behind the Gamecube. They're basically the same really, but the Gamecube has a few more specs. The X-box has beter graphics that both of them, however.
Though… In this upcoming generation, the PS3 will have the better graphics, followed by the 360, and then the Wii, 'cause Nintendo is focusing more on gameplay and such.
And I have no problem with that. Nintendo are elite.

Christ, this game doesn't come out 'til November where I live, but the retail price will be only £29.99 (about $20) XD mostly because Grand Battle had shitty sales over here.

Maybe if they'd released it in more stores instead of a Virgin exclusive. >_>
I was always annoyed that I couldn't find it.

They actually released Grand Battle over here? Geez, If I knew that I would have bought it long ago. Anyways I'll just get Grand Adventure and Unlimited Adventure for the wii when they're out.

Mr. 2 vs. MiHawk, LoL
Voice for Ohm sounds as drab as the rest of the actors. This game is definitely getting the mute treatment. If I hear "Taffffffyyy Trouncer" I might shoot my television.
-
I wouldn't say Ohm's voice is bad. It's actually pretty good, for now, until I hear it better.
-
…Ohm sounds funny to me for some reason. XD Also, his attacks at least kept part of their names...I quite clearly heard an "Eisen" in that video.
Do the support characters have voices?
-
I don't think the support characters will have voices.
-
@yokaiforte:
I don't think the support characters will have voices.
They usually do I think. From the videos I saw they just go "Err!" or something.
-
They usually do I think. From the videos I saw they just go "Err!" or something.
I would think they would do something like that. Or scream an attack name.
-
Okay, its the 29th. Someone get this and waste all of their time so they can unluck Enel. XD
-
Hmm… I don't remember anything like that.
-
Okay, its the 29th. Someone get this and waste all of their time so they can unluck Enel. XD
Actually, today is just the shipping date. THe game should be in stores around tommorow. Some stores might have gotten the game already. Those lucky …..
