Usopp is extremely fun to play with, some of his attacks are awesome, like theo ne where he throws random crap out of his bag.
One Piece: Grand Adventure
-
-
He's ok, but his specials are hard to pull off
-
Yeah, I'd say the only thing I don't like about Usopp is his special is hard to connect.
Though I love using his "Triple Exploding Star" attack.
-
The computers don't seem to realize that the reason why they call it "Triple Exploding Stars" is because he fires three shots, not one. >_>
-
I dunno, in GB it seemed like a match would only not go to Crocodile, Zoro, or Krieg if you really didn't want it to.
-
What I want to know about Grand Adventure (Gamecube version):
-Are the models better? The GB models seemed a bit chibi to me, and some of them (Arlong's hands…) looked just like they skimped on polygons.
-Are the characters I care about (Arlong, Smoker, possibly Krieg and Ener) playable this go round? I'm only willing to spend cash on an OP game if it entails having Arlong smash Nami into a fine paste.
I hope Grand Adventure 2 has Spandam playable. It would be so worth it.
"Absolute Justice!"
Spandam places a Golden Den Den Mushi in the centre of the play field and jumps on it. A stylized Buster Call appars in the background as he charges the foe.Tap.
3 damage on a scale of 100.
-
I could never play with Bon Clay or Zoro though.
Zoro seemed like the easiest character to play with for me and everyone else I played with. He's a freakin BEAST in that game! He slashes and everything around him just dies!
My favorite char to play with was drum roll LUFFY! Once I learned his the range and best times to use his 'weird' movies I pwned people like nobody's business! Plus for some reason nobody picks him. I think it's because despite being the main char, he's not easy for beginners to pick up and play with.I agree Chopper sucks and I couldn't play with Usopp too well. But My friend honestly..can beat ANYONE with Usopp. Everyone time I fought his Usopp or Don Kreig(which seemed overpowered because everyone picks him and usually wins) it was ALWAYs a tough battle.

I think it's exactly the same as the PS2 version. It just won't have the same graphics, PS2 is a little stronger in the graphics range. Like in the Naruto games, the PS2 version always had the better graphics.
-
I seem to get beaten by my friend when he picks buggy alot…He just keeps on hardcore button mashing and it is hard to freaking hit him.
Does anyone have any links to a page explaining or even a hint of the official strategy guide (Grand Adventure)? Thanks -
PS2 version looking better? Since when has the PS2 had stronger graphical capabilities?
And the models are still chibi/not chibi. They're chibi in the sense that they're all around the same height and are sorta small, but their limbs and stuff are all proportioned normally.
Arlong, Smoker, Krieg, AND Enel are all confirmed for this game.
If Grand Adventure gets to Japan I'm sure some Spandam and CP9 might get thrown in.
OR Grand Battle 5 in Japan will have the Adventure mode, and many characters, tacked on in addition to the new Water 7/Eneis Lobby content (which is bound to be in there)
-
A GB4 with 24 characters would be sick as hell. I'm a little hesistant to get this one, though.

If they could like cram EVERY playable character from all the GB games into the next one, in addition to the Water 7 characters.
Franky is obviously gonna be playable in GB4, if he's not it's the BIGGEST rip ever. Lucci seems like a given, Kaku as well.
if they keep the supports, then the rest of CP9 should be supports.
I'd love to play as Paulie and Spandam as well, Paulie especially (he's got quite a few moves)
Kokoro should be involved in the game in some way (I have one idea what her secret move would be. To avoid spoilers lets say it involves water)
-
No, I think that move would cause a public outcry.
But OTOH if it's set up like Jango in GB… a radius around her where people are stunned... it could work.
-
@Cap'n:
Usopp as one of the best? Funny, because I found him and Chopper to be the flagrantly worst characters in the game.
The only character I had a hard time with was chopper. Everyone else I could do all right.
-
Kunia and Ohm. I wasn't expecting them. What one was Kunia playable in? Or is she just new?
-
Gah, I wish we'll already get a video of Enel posted! This is killer. ><
-
For the next Japanee Grand Battle, I hope:
- No more supports
- All of the CP9 are playable (they have enough of a repertoire to be fully playable. though this is probably more or less a dream)
- More characters from past GBs, and possibly more that were missed before (Gedatsu, Mr. 1, etc.)
-
I wish all the supports were playable, theres no reason they wouldn't be able to fit them all just look at the Budokai games.
Mr. 1 would probably be fun to play as.
Tho I have a feeling you could get all the supports playable with Action Replay or some shit.
-
Kunia and Ohm. I wasn't expecting them. What one was Kunia playable in? Or is she just new?
She's totally new.
-
"totally new" is technically false, as chances are that she'll have the same moves as Tashigi.
-
Seriously.
If there's a GB4 I think it could get by with the straw hats, Lucci, Kaku, Jabura, Kumadori, Franky, Paulie, and Aokiji. But the Rush characters (Foxy, EB villains) would be awesome, too.
-
What one was Kunia playable in? Or is she just new?
Kuina's new, and she's the first dead character that's playable in any One Piece game (to my knowledge).
-
I think Kalifa will be playable if Kaku and Lucci are in it, she has Rokushiki, her whips, and her Awa attacks; I think she'd be an interesting character.
-
Kuina's new, and she's the first dead character that's playable in any One Piece game (to my knowledge).
She died by falling down stairs so shes an exception. ^^
-

Same here, actually.
-
Oh, and you guys are aware that 4kids didn't have anything to do with the production of Grand Adventure (except for the name changes and possibly the voices), right? Maybe some blood will flow in this game.
-
@Mr.:
Oh, and you guys are aware that 4kids didn't have anything to do with the production of Grand Adventure (except for the name changes and possibly the voices), right? Maybe some blood will flow in this game.
I don't think is any blood in any of the GB games.
-
Yeah, there is no blood in the games to begin with.
-
Yeah, usually in games like these there is no blood.
And 4kids actually does have some control over it. Or they wouldn't go through the trouble of removing Chasers cigars.
-
The only influence 4Kids has on the game is when bandai tries to stay consistant with the american dub. There's nothing other than that I think that influences it.
The last game I think the only thing they borrowed over from the dub was the art and voice actors.
-
OFF TOPIC: Is there anyway I can contact Bandai (JP) to see if they'll be releasing a Grand Battle 4? I know Bandai Japan might not understand English, but what else can I do?
ON TOPIC:
The last game I think the only thing they borrowed over from the dub was the art and voice actors.
Yeah. I heard that the screenshots in GB once had trading cards before they replaced them. Did any of you notice that they kept in the blood in some of the screenshots, like on a pic with Usopp in the Usopp vs. Chuu fight? Either 4Kids was too lazy to remove the blood completely, or that Bandai was unaware of their dub alternations, but erased some of it.
-
I actually think the support characters would be a great feature if they each were unique. (Like every single one has their own unique skills, and aren't incredibly stupid in the AI department)
Some of the character work better as supports since they're cool but don't necessarily have alot of moves. And unlike someone like Vivi who can be given new moves, some can't (what could Kureha or Conis do as playable characters?)
(removed Gb4 speculation, put it in the new thread)
If GB4 gets brought to the US, we'd go as far as Skypiea and anything else would be cut. (Freeloader and import is a must, just so we can play as W7 characters)
Bandai would be smart if they just continue making US exclusive Grand Battle games, adding new features we can't get in the Japanese games (like the Adventure mode)
Grand Adventure is as far as we'll likely go in terms of content for a long time, so Bandai's best choice is to give us exclusive content and extra game-modes.
If they can expand the adventure mode and give us some free-roaming, story involved action then they'd have gold on their hands.
-
- All of the CP9 are playable (they have enough of a repertoire to be fully playable. though this is probably more or less a dream)
We'll probably just see the two most popular=Lucci and Kaku..maybe Jyabura too, he's pretty popular. And Califa, just to have another female in the mix, which is good.
Plus Franky and Paulie. Kiji's rly popular for a guy in like two issues, so hopefully they won't make a dumb move and not add him.
-
So….. Anyone know if you can disable the voices?
-
Yep, called the MUTE button on your remote.
-
I'm seriously considering the thought of going to my local videogame store in the morning and trading in my copy of Grand Battle. My plan is to gain store credit, which will go towards the purchase of Grand Adventure, tomorrow (I'll have to scrounge up the rest of the cash). I just hope that I can get a decent amount for it, considering that I bought GB for 35 bucks (used) a few months ago. There's not much more reason for me to keep the game, considering that I've unlocked everything in the game that I can think of (characters, system voices, gallery pics, event art, gameplay records, etc.). Hell, GA is supposed to have everything that the previous installment has and more (no Story Mode, but that's where Adventure Mode comes in)!
As I mentioned before, I'll still hang on to my GB save file, just in case GA has unlockables based on the presence of a GB file (a la the DBZ Budokai series). Besides, I may stumble across the game again.

Well Nintendo consoles won't ever really have as good graphics as it's competitors, more so better games and choice. The wii won't have as good graphics as the PS3, just more choice and innovation.
Plus if any games have CP9 or Spandam in them that's an 100% chance I'm gonna get it.
-
Actually, of this generation, the PS2 is the weakest (graphics wise) of the three systems. Though, it's not TOO far behind the Gamecube. They're basically the same really, but the Gamecube has a few more specs. The X-box has beter graphics that both of them, however.
Though… In this upcoming generation, the PS3 will have the better graphics, followed by the 360, and then the Wii, 'cause Nintendo is focusing more on gameplay and such.
-
I already got all my money, and I got a $11 store credit thing I can use to get the game now. So I am prepare to get the game now. ^_^
-
i am selling my starwars empire at war to get this XD
i barely play it so its worth it -
It's times like these that I wish I won the talent show and won that $50.

Selling it would be probably around $5… XD
I'm not sure if I should get GCN or PS2... My friend has US GB for GCN, and GCN could be smoother, but PS2 has better controls, IMO. >_>
-
I'm planning to get it for Gamecube, since I'm more use of playing Grand Battle on Gamecube then PS2. But that is just me through.
-
I only have the Gamecube, so there's no option here…
-
What gets me is the different shapes and sizes of the buttons for GCN… And some of the attacks need you to press down more than one button... >_> And so it feels a bit awkward...
-
hmm… never felt it awkward, but maybe cause I'm used to it after playing all that time on the Gamecube.
-
I've been looking around online and it seems Walmart is selling the game 10 dollars cheaper.
29.99, now that's a price I like.
-
God bless Walmart, I will surely be picking this up (hopefully). If I don't find it, I 'll use other methods. Can't wait to see the improvements.
-
I'm going to order online from Wal-Mart and get one day shipping which is less than it would be for a regular new game! XD Hopefully.
-
Hmm .. i dunno if anyone's posted this yet, but Nintendo Power rated this game 5.5 :l
I haven't read why yet .. but I dunno if I'll still buy this game.
