I always thought of Luffy's family like a mafia family (or franky family)
But black beard (whos name escapes me right now) had a D. for a middle innitial

thats whyi think its a mafia, i mean, saul did say that the members of his "family" put a D as their middle innitial

Whoever it is, I do think they were giants. I'm betting only Ace and Luffy aren't giants because their father or mother. As of right now I would say it was Sauro as it links Luffy, Robin, and Ao Kiji together.
