The Punisher VS. Sabretooth

The Dude

An explosion errupts from a lush forest. Trees collapse, and the smell of burning wood envelopes the air. The Punisher looks around to see his target move across the brush. "Now I've got you."

Punisher moves foward, gun in tote. "RAARGH!!" Suddenly, he's jumped from behind. Without hesitation, Sabretooth pins him down on the ground. Punisher draws his gun, but Sabretooth bats it away. Before Punisher can kick him off, Sabretooth leaves vicious claw marks across his opponent's chest.

"Close but no cigar, pipsqueak.", snarled Sabretooth. "You should have known this would'nt be easy!"

"I'm just gettin' warmed up.", said Punisher, getting up, reloading a clip.

Sabretooth lunges at Punisher, who then pumps Sabretooth full of lead. Sabretooth drops, bullet holes strewn across his body. "HA! Is that all you got!?" Sabretooth slowly gets up, wounds rapidly healing. Punisher, not that surprised, reloads his guns and starts shooting. Sabretooth dodges to the side. The moment Sabretooth lands in a claw to the chest, Punisher's knife goes into Sabretooth's side.

"Gagh! Bastard!," Sabretooth jumped off.

Punisher turned to face him. "Hope you're enjoying this while you can - you're not leaving this fight alive."

See it is funny I am actually voting for Punisher in this round. A couple years ago I probably would have gone with Creed, but after reading Garth Ennis's Punisher, I can't not vote for Frank.

Frank Castle realizes that some people need to be punished, at the law is not always on his side. I voted for him. Sabertooth needs to be punished, because he is evil.

Wow this is a lot more one sided than I thought it would be. If I had known it was going to be this bad I would have voted for old Sabretooth. Just so he doesn't feel bad.

hmm tough choice on one hand i do really enjoy Sabertooth and in particular his bouts with Wolverine but Frank has been a fav of mine ever since i sat down as an 8 year old and watched Spiderman TAS.

so ill throw my vote to him….

Green Hair I will second that, however I really didn't like the way he wrote Wolverine in the one arc. It was kind of pathetic, but that is what Ennis does to most comic book superhero types. He make's fun of them.

"I'm going to rip you limb from LIMB!", snarled Sabretooth. "I only regret that it won't nearly as fun for you as it'll be for me!!"

"Negative. This is gonna be REAL fun for me," Punisher smirked. Punisher rolled aside, guns ablaze. Sabretooth roll-dodges, and makes his way towards Castle. A few bullets to the forehead and Sabretooth flys back and lands on the ground motionless.

Castle jumps behind a bush to reload. "That healing factor's a bitch, "he muttered to himself. "At least this buy me some time."

Sabretooth collected himself and slowly got up. He looked around trying to find his prey. "You think I can't smell you!? It's only a matter of time!!" Punisher slowly crawled to another bush to try and get a good vantage point. "I gotta make this quick," he thought to himself. "Or this fight'll last forever." Before he could draw his rifle, Sabretooth tackled him through the bush.

The two rolled down a hill, destination uncertain. Biting his opponent's arm, Sabretooth seems to have the upper hand at this point, Punisher reeling from rapid blood loss. They stop at the foot of a cliff, Sabretooth pins Punisher down. "Die."

"You first." Before Sabretooth lands a killing blow, Punisher takes a tears-gas grenade from his belt and jams it in Sabretooth's mouth, knocking out a few teeth, and drawing some of Castle's own blood in the process. The gas rapidly floods the area, Sabretooth in shambles. Quickly, Punisher removes himself from underneath Sabretooth, pulls out a shot gun, and lets Sabretooth have it, right in the stomach. The force of the shot, combined with Sabretooth's disheveledness, forces Sabretooth right off the cliff. As Sabretooth falls a few hundred feet, he vows to himself never to forget this battle.

Walking away from the gas, Frank Castle lights a cigar, prepared for his next target.

I know. He did the same thing with Green Lantern in Hitman. Actually, I don't mind, if he thinks superheroes are idiots that's fine by me (not that I share his opinion though). He's the writer, his take on the character is as legitimate as any. I'm certainly not the one who'd bitch about these things like some other hardcore fans:
