I used to be a huge Final Fantasy fan but have lost about 50% of my interest in the gap between FFX and XII, so frankly I'm not as interested as I once was. But I will still give it a look when more news becomes available.

No. As long as Final Fantasy games are topsellers, it'll live on.

Which is a good thing IMO.
Although they made lots of mistakes…even the worst FF is still better than most games you can get.The only thing that pisses me of is all that FF7 crap they produce...
But a new FF-RPG (not a sequel to one of the others)...hey, I'm looking forward to it.

Let it die? No.
Drive it into the ground by changing the series so much they totally alienate the fanbase? Eventually.
I have to admit that the fact that Amano's full name can't appear in the comments section of that website amuses me.
As far as this goes, well… it's all well and good that he has a role in this, but gameplay is the more important thing. If it's like FFXII, I'll still take a pass on it regardless of who designs the main characters.

No. It's just me, I really don't pay much attention to the credits. sigh I have to edit this because I posted too soon. I've played every FF sans III(the original III, not VI's original American release) I just don't really know many of the leading names.

I'd rather Squenix invest in a new SaGa, Bushido Blade, Einhander or a rebirth of the SNES Enix RPGS like, Soul Blazer, 7th Saga, and Actraiser.
